BECOMING MEN at PUBERTY: People generally miss the most important message in photos like this. This was taken in 1975 at Dodan Barracks. How old were the three personalities in this iconic shot at the time? What were their individual achievements at that age. Take a second look and then it hits you: Adamu Ciroma was 41 - CBN Governor. Olusegun Obasanjo was 37 - Chief of Staff Supreme HQ. Murtala Muhammed was 36 - Head of State Federal Republic of Nigeria! They looked very responsible, well fed, dapper, sharp and very ambitious. The two military men had already fought and won a bloody Biafra war just mere five years prior. When Obasanjo took the Surrender of Biafran soldiers at Ulli, he was 33. Almost all the military personnel involved in the first and second coup d'etat were in their 20s. Here comes the inevitable question: What are their age mates in the current generations of youths doing at 30 years of age? Well, millions still walk around in cities and towns in search of jobs after graduation. Zero employable skills. Some of them are fully into cultism, rituals, armed robbery, romance scams, one chance, prostitution, human and drug trafficking, kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism. It's an endless shopping list of criminalities. Many more are walking across the Sahara Desert on their way to connect Continental Europe through dangerous terrains and leaking boats. A vast number are in perpetual Japa Dreamland at home. Those who couldn't rustle up 40m Naira for Japa visas are camped on SM insulting every govt in power. They want a revolution in other people's regions but not in theirs. Japa na Japa; quite a hefty number are holing up in hovels like Mali, Cote D'Ivoire, Tanganyika, Niger, Benin Republics, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Gambia, etc. Out of frustration, some even fake their president's death and later clone him into a phantom person. For a stronger context, Dele Giwa became the founder and publisher of Newswatch Magazine at the age of 38. Yakubu Gowon became Head of State at 31! We truly need a revival of ethos, discipline, education, and patriotism in our nation. *By Tom Fijabi* *#Copied#* nlfpmod

The two military men had already fought and won a bloody Biafra war just mere five years prior. This statement made your story look like a joke, if only you knew the type of beating both men received in the hands of the Biafran military. Murtala Mohammed was sent on a compulsory exile after the whole of the 2nd division of the Nigerian military was obliterated by a small Biafran troop led my Major Uchendu. Obasanjo is still carrying Biafran wounds given to him 2 hours into battle after he replaced Benjamin Adekunle |

Souls under whose watch the nation fell (with the exception of Murtala). |

The white colonial masters left Nigeria too early leaving an already divided country in the hands of arrogant men and women who have no business working together. Everything about Nigeria was wrong from the very beginning. She can only continue to make progress in error. |

One of the reasons is that majority of leaders and elders then were illiterates that could not even read and write, so the few available young that were a bit educated got job on time to begin progression in life. Now, both old and youngs are educated, the competition is tougher than then |

NwekeUG:Let's try to remember something, how did these men get to their positions at their youthful age? By hard work? By democracy? By gaining the trust of the people? No, they were all military criminals who stole power by the barrel of the gun. You're in your 30's, you have become President or vice President of a country? There are only 3 ways that's possible 1. You inherited the position through your father, cabal or Royal dynasty 2. You did something extraordinary in such a short time that captured the imagination of your people, and they swept you into power 3. Or just like Murtala Mohammed and Olusegun Obasanjo, you stole power through the barrel of the gun, which is treason |
