Many people rush to install blinds immediately after moving into a new apartment without considering some important factors.

As an interior designer in Lagos, here are a few things I always advise clients to check first:

1️⃣ Measure correctly – Accurate measurements prevent gaps and poor finishing.

2️⃣ Consider the room purpose – Bedroom blinds should offer more privacy, while living room blinds can focus more on aesthetics.

3️⃣ Lighting – Do you want full blackout, partial light, or soft filtered light?

4️⃣ Material quality – Cheap blinds may fade or get damaged quickly.

5️⃣ Wall colour & interior style – Your blinds should complement your space, not fight with it.
