Veteran Fuji icon Saheed Osupa is currently at the center of heated online discussions after a viral video captured him speaking candidly about his personal beliefs and what fuels his success.

The moment happened during the 62nd birthday celebration of Nollywood veteran Fatai Odua, popularly known as Lalude, where the Fuji star was performing live in front of guests. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

While entertaining the crowd, Osupa turned his attention to his backup singers, who seemed to be struggling to match his pace. In a lighthearted but striking remark, he advised them to seek spiritual assistance if they wanted to improve their performance and memory.

His statement, though delivered humorously, quickly took a serious turn as he began opening up about his own journey.

Osupa revealed that he had once been encouraged to publicly deny engaging in traditional spiritual practices. However, he made it clear that he chose honesty instead.

According to him, there is nothing wrong with embracing such beliefs as long as they are not used for harmful purposes. He emphasized that his intentions have always been focused on growth and progress, not wrongdoing.

He also disclosed that paying homage to Ifa is part of his personal belief system — something he sees as a normal aspect of his life.

In a moment that sparked even more reactions, the Fuji star questioned alternative paths to success, using humor to drive his point home.

He implied that conventional means alone may not guarantee success, adding that life is too short to remain in poverty without striving for comfort and stability.

Perhaps the most controversial part of his statement was his claim that many individuals engage in similar practices but prefer to keep it hidden from the public.

Osupa suggested that while some publicly align with religious teachings, their private actions may tell a different story — a comment that has since divided opinions online.

Since the video surfaced, social media has been buzzing with mixed reactions. While some praised Osupa for his honesty and cultural pride, others criticized his comments, arguing that public figures should be more cautious with such statements.

The conversation has also reignited debates around tradition, religion, and success in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

People should know that we all have freedom to practice any religion we like. Ifa and any name they could call other things we practice used to be our way of life and still some of us doings. Those who detest engaging in it still go to their clerics who inturn gives them diluted juju that he collected from baba. If you like hate it, you cant sue those who engage in it without harming others.

He is doing what your international pop stars are doing in secret
People do not know most of these stars both in the music and the movie industries, politicians and top business executives worldwide are devil worshippers.
Satan is the god of this world and people worship him in different ways to get ahead of others but it comes with a steep eternal price which is your soul.

God's blessings make rich with no sorrow!

Many of our celebrities are secretly battling with deep sorrows while others envy them.
