About the Mastercard Associate Program

Mastercard Associate Program links skilled and talented youths with 12-month internships across Africa. Mastercard Associate Program works through collaboration and partnerships with external organizations and Foundation partner organizations to support Associates in building and developing leadership, employability, and entrepreneurship skills following graduation.
Since 2023, more than one thousand Associates in twenty two countries have participated in the Mastercard Associate Program, including young women, men, persons with disabilities, refugees, and internally displaced persons.

Who Can Apply for the Mastercard Associate Program

The following categories of persons can apply for the Mastercard Associate Program:

1. Recent graduates with zero to two years of work experience can apply for the Mastercard Associate Program

2. Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Alumni can apply for the Mastercard Associate Program

3. Alumni of Mastercard Foundation programs can apply for the Mastercard Associate Program

4. Youths, between the ages 18 years to 35 years across Africa seeking meaningful early‑career experience can apply for the Mastercard Associate Program

Benefits of the Mastercard Associate Program

The following are the benefits of the Mastercard Associate Program:

1. Participants of the Mastercard Associate Program will gain 12‑month internship placement

2. Participants of the Mastercard Associate Program will receive hands‑on work experience

3. Participants of the Mastercard Associate Program will gain leadership, employability, and entrepreneurship skill‑building

4. Participants of the Mastercard Associate Program will gain mentorship and professional networks

5. Participants of the Mastercard Associate Program will receive a stipend for the duration of the Mastercard Associate Program

6. Participants of the Mastercard Associate Program will receive career transition support

How to Apply for the Mastercard Associate Program

Before filling out the application for Mastercard Associate Program please make sure you have the following documents ready:

1. Valid Government-Issued ID (Showing Date of Birth)

2. National Service Certificate or an official Exemption Letter/Document (e.g., NYSC or equivalent national service program in your country).

3. Evidence of participation in any Mastercard Foundation Program (If applicable)

4. Resume/CV, Resume must be ATS friendly in order to increase one's chances of being selected for the Mastercard Associate Program, applicants can get the e-book "How To Write An ATS Friendly Resume" via the link: https://selar.com/resumeatl e-book contains helpful tips on how to write an ATS friendly resume in order to increase one's chances of being shortlisted. An ATS friendly resume increases an applicant's chances of his or her Resume being seen by Human Resources team.

Applicants may apply directly through the Mastercard Associate Program application links depending on their country of residence, or they can apply for remote positions. Positions will be posted on an ongoing basis.
