Peter Mbah Orders 105 Tractors From Nortra Tractor AAssembly

The Enugu Nortra Tractor Assembly Plant at Park Avenue, GRA, Enugu, marks a major shift in the transformation of agriculture in Enugu State, from outdated tools and practices to modern, mechanised systems.

When Governor Peter Mbah assumed office, he met virtually zero functional tractors. In response, he ordered the procurement of 1,000 tractors from Nortra to drive agricultural reform.

Today, 105 tractors are already in use on farms across the state, while the rest are being assembled locally at this brand new facility.

With a production capacity of 10 tractors per day, the plant is supported by a fully equipped service and repair centre, ensuring durability, efficiency, and continuity in operations.

It also houses a training institute, where technicians are being trained to operate, manage, and maintain the tractors, equipping young people with new skills for modern agricultural production and machinery maintenance.

The facility is also designed to support the 260 Enugu Farm Estates being established across the state, enabling structured, large-scale commercial farming from Uzo-Uwani to Aninri, Ezeagu to Isi-Uzo, and Nkanu East to Igbo-Eze North.

But beyond meeting the needs of Enugu State, the plant is also strategically positioned to serve other states in the region, as well as private sector farmers and agricultural investors, making Enugu a regional hub for agricultural mechanisation.

Backed by international partnership, the Nortra Assembly Plant is a foreign direct investment from Denmark, further signalling Enugu’s growing reputation as a destination of choice for industrial and agricultural investment.

Enough state Agriculture

Good one from the governor of Enugu State Mr Peter Mbah

This is what all government institutions should be investing in. Not building houses

Mechanized farming is the only way to feed Nigerians. Hand labourers is capital intensive .
Onlinefarmstores, didn't see your thread after your trip to Sudan

Who go maintain am?? So it’ll be left to rot like they always do

Agric sector in nigeria will get a huge boost is we can mechanize.

Most farming done in nigeria is not mechanized.

Good initiative

When subsidy was removed, we thought the proceeds will be spent on program like this.

Good one by the Enugu state government

very few governors used the saved funds recieved for such.

A Governor with sense, buy local products to grow Naira, not like an importer and exporter that wants to be Nigeria President.

And our people no rate this governor atall ,if na one Alex otti just post proposal they will applaud it as a completed project…they don’t like original things fro the days of Aba,them and fake hints are like 5/6…you will never hear of this governors giant strides, only projects that exists on papers they celebrate.
God bless governor Mbah, one day they will push a worker like you foward to be president of this country and not one Bangladeshi Hong Kong Taiwan gibberish stuttering man without nothing to show

That's what state govs were expected to be doing, imagine each state govt buying 1k tractors instead of buying cars for traditional rulers and judges......our govs are one of the major problems we are having in this country.

Obidients always crying that hunger baby's to kill them, these are the kinds of policies that can engender food security, farm mechanisation is the way to go,a farm settlement currently doing 500 tubers a year can do 2,000 with mechanised farming replicate that across all states and see if food won't be surplus and the govs are in the best position to do these things.

Governor Mbah is busy making sure his sector gets a massive boost. Excellent initiative.

You people sha...haba!!!...can you just commend the governor first
