PropertyPro vs ResiVIP NG, I Used Both Seriously This Year and Here iz My Honest Experience Let me just say this upfront so nobody comes for me later....... I am not here to rubbish any platform. PropertyPro has been around, we have all used it, it has helped people find houses. That part iz acknowledged. But I had an experience this year that made me look at things differently and I think people searching for property especially outside Lagos and Abuja deserve to hear it. So last quarter I was helping my sister find a 2 bedroom flat in Benue State. She just got transferred there for work and needed something decent, not too far from the government house axis, reasonable rent, nothing extravagant. Simple request right....... You'd think. I went to PropertyPro first because that's the default for most of us. Started searching. The results were there but honestly half of what was showing up was Lagos and Abuja properties mixed into everything. When I finally filtered down to Makurdi the listings were thin and the ones that were there looked like they had been sitting on that page since 2022 or thereabouts. Called two numbers. First one the agent said the house was taken "a long time ago." Second number wasn't going through at all. Third listing had photos that looked like they were taken with a 2015 BlackBerry Bold in a room with no light. I don't blame PropertyPro sha. Their focus has always been the big markets. If you're searching in Lagos Island or Maitama Abuja you will find what you need there no doubt. But for the rest of Nigeria....... e get as e be. Somebody in our group then mentioned Resivip NG. I had never heard of it before so I was skeptical honestly. Went to their site and the first thing I noticed was that this platform was specifically built for South South, South East, South West and Benue State. Not "we cover all Nigeria" with Benue 12 listings while Lagos has 4,000. They chose their focus and they stuck to it. Already that felt different. The listings in Makurdi were actually current. And I mean CURRENT. The platform updates daily so what you are seeing is not a graveyard of old properties that agents forgot to remove. You call a number and the person picks up and the house is actually still available. That one thing alone saved us probably a week of frustration because with PropertyPro and similar platforms you spend so much time chasing dead listings. The way you contact people iz through Facebook which honestly makes a lot of sense for Nigeria because every agent, every landlord, everyone iz on Facebook already. You don't need to pay anybody to connect you or go through some middle layer. You see the listing, you see the contact, you reach them directly. My sister spoke to the landlord of the place she eventually took directly. No agent charging "inspection fee" for a house he doesn't own. Now here iz the part that genuinely surprised me....... ResiVIP has a feature where you can find movers on the platform. Like the people who will help you physically pack your things and move them to your new place. I have NEVER seen this on any Nigerian property platform before. PropertyPro doesn't have it. Nigeria Property Centre doesn't have it. Nobody else I have used has thought to include this. And this might sound small but if you have ever secured a house and then started the secondary stress of finding a truck and movers separately you will understand why this iz actually a big deal. They basically covered the full journey. Find house, contact landlord, book movers. All in one place. They also have something called a state comparison tool where you can look at rent prices across different Nigerian states and compare them side by side. So if you are trying to decide between relocating to Benin City or Calabar or Enugu for example, you can see what rent actually looks like in each place before you start making moves. For salary earners and people planning a relocation this kind of information used to require you to know people in those cities personally. Now it's just there. There is also a Locate Me button that detects your current Nigerian state automatically and filters properties near you without you needing to type anything. I used this when I was in Port Harcourt for two days for a meeting and needed a shortlet quickly. One tap, saw what was available around me, sorted. That feature is genuinely useful for people who move around for work. The anonymous review system on listings iz another thing worth mentioning. Tenants can drop reviews on listings without showing their identity which means agents and landlords cannot pressure people to take down bad reviews. It keeps things honest. PropertyPro has no equivalent of this from what I have seen. Now let me be fair because this iz supposed to be a real review not a one-sided thing....... PropertyPro still wins on volume if Lagos or Abuja iz your target. They have more developer projects, more luxury listings, more commercial and investment properties. If you are a buyer looking for a property to purchase in the big markets, PropertyPro's depth is real. ResiVIP's strength iz clearly in rentals and in the regions that other platforms have historically ignored. So the honest summary iz this....... if you are in South South, South East, South West or Benue and you are searching for a place to rent, ResiVIP (resivip.com.ng) should be your first stop not your last resort. Daily updated listings, direct landlord contact, built in movers, state price comparisons, geolocation search and honest reviews. For the regions it covers it iz doing things that no other Nigerian property platform iz doing right now. If you are in Lagos or Abuja searching for property to buy, go to PropertyPro. If you are anywhere else in Nigeria searching for somewhere to rent or you need help moving after you find a place.... Anyone in Calabar, Enugu, Benin City, Warri, Owerri or Uyo that has used it before, drop your experience below. Genuine question because I only have my sister's experience to go by and I want to know if other people are finding it useful in those areas. |
