Knowledge is valuable.

Education is valuable. Experience is valuable. Information is valuable. Studying the Bible is valuable. Learning from history and listening to experienced people can help us avoid mistakes.

But the Bible makes an important distinction between knowing something and knowing what to do with what we know.

A person can have enormous knowledge and still make foolish decisions.

Someone can quote Scripture and still refuse to obey it.

Someone can understand financial principles and still manage money irresponsibly.

Someone can know how relationships work and still treat people badly.

This is why believers need more than knowledge. We need wisdom.

Proverbs 4:7 says:

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

Knowledge Gives Information; Wisdom Gives Direction
Knowledge answers questions such as:

“What is this?”

“How does this work?”

“What does the Bible say?”

“What happened?”

Wisdom asks:

“What should I do with what I know?”

For example, a person may know that anger can destroy relationships. But knowledge alone does not guarantee self-control.

Someone may know that gossip is harmful. Yet they may continue spreading information about others.
