As we all know, today is a very special day in an OLYMPIC Leap year. This very day (February 29th) signifies the year of the OLYMPICS\Leap year. So, let's start the count-down to LONDON 2012 OLYMPICS.
As we all know that all roads will lead to LONDON ; Come August.
-How many days do we have to the opening ceremony?

Let's start discussing about the various sports that will be on at LONDON 2012 .
Although we know that there will be no football for 9geria but what about other sports.

A few days ago I saw the construction of the Olympic rings and the realization of London 2012 finally sank in for me.

To be honest I don't have much faith in how the event is going to be executed but still I’m actually quietly anticipating it.

This particular olympic is going to be a very special one as every athlete looks forward to being there. As you know, any event hosted in LONDON is very special.

The sale oe tickets for this years OLYMPICS will boom because everybody would like to be in LONDON.

How can somebody represent is country in any event?

All is now set as team Nigeria is making serious preparations in camp.

Lets see what d preparations are like and how many boxers are representing 9geria nat LONDON and in which weight categories.

Inked_Nerd: This may be my pessimistic side speaking in terms of the British government but I hope a riot breaks out during the Olympics.

I learnt that Nigeria has qualified some boxers while about 2 of Nigerian boxers lost to Morroco by points.

I am also hoping Nigeria will do well at d table tennis.

They have already commenced the sale of tickets and d opening ceremony is on 29th July.

There was a disabled guy who qualified for wheel chair tennis.

They have already concluded the African qualifiers for Boxing but I don't know those who qualified for Nigeria but 2 Nigerian Boxers lost to Morrocco by points.

I think we should seriously start preparing fo the August ocassion.

I dunno the kind of Brits you know but I seem to disproportionally know a lot of interesting ones

Definitely looking forward to it for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I get to see sports apart from track and field. I love to watch hockey and the rowing, even the equestrian.

Probably will only get to see the Games on TV but I know of a few Games Makers; a friend's daughter is a Young Games Maker, working in the Olympic Village.

As an aside, what is it about black people and their seeming aversion to volunteering for anything outside of church?

... Germany vs Italy (Thur by 19:45)

The last time Spain nd Portugal played was at South-Africa world-cup in round of 16, Spain won 1-0.
Germany played Italy in Germany world-cup, Italy won 2-0 golden goal

There is no pushover in this semi-final as any of d teams can win.
If Spain wins this cup, they will have won 3 major cups abt 3 consecutive times in a row; which is UEFA EUR0 2008, FIFA South-Africa 2010, and dis UEFA EURO 2012.
NOTE: The teams left are both group B and group C representatives, Germany and Portugal from group B, Spain nd Italy from group C. There is no group A nd D representatives as they have lost out.
NOTE: 2 Teams will still crash out of d semi-final as there is no 3rd place play-off in dis competition. Only 2 teams make it to d final.
