The head of a government task force on federal pension disbursement, Abdulrasheed Maina, allegedly diverted up to N21 billion of pension funds into illicit accounts with three banks, police officials said, in testimonies that further shocked the senate pension management hearing Thursday.

It was a new round of irony that tipped higher the scale of abuses that the pension scheme has faced in the past years, leaving government frustrated and public purse drained.

Mr. Maina, an ebullient deputy director in the office of the Head of Service, was drafted to help seal those leakages and save the nation wasted monies while ensuring prompt payment of genuine retirees.

Testifying before the senate committee on Wednesday, he drew the image of a forthright official, who served with integrity and delivered on his assignment. To think that aged pensioners have to stand on the line day in day out because of 1diots like this. Some of them even died in the process of going through the inhumane processes just to get some change.

My sister lost her husband 4 years ago, he worked for many years with the government and is due a lot of money, however to this day not a dime has been paid to my sister and her kids.

That Maina guy is nt a politician bt a civil servant like most of us hu was brought in to make a change bt messed up yet we blame politicians as the cause of our probs. This guy appeared before the senate committee two days ago claiming he had the names of 32 people (according to him members of a cabal) who were working against his task force. He also claimed to have a list of people who were fraudulently collecting pension. He was supposed to show up yesterday before the committee only send a message that he was indisposed.

There is a lot going on underground here.

I hope it will all be uncovered.
