An Nawwaa bin saman narrated that; i asked Allah's messenger (SAW)about righteousness and sin and he replied "Righteousness is good character(obedience to Allah,charity,treating people with affection,being patient when one is wronged,good companionship,keeping ties of relation)And sin is that which revolves(being doubtful) in your heart and dislike that people come to know of it.(MUSLIM)

“Righteousness is not that you turn your faces to the east and the west [in prayer]. But righteous is the one who believes in God, the Last Day, the Angels, the Scripture and the Prophets; who gives his wealth in spite of love for it to kinsfolk, orphans, the poor, the wayfarer, to those who ask and to set slaves free. And (righteous are) those who pray, pay alms, honor their agreements, and are patient in (times of) poverty, ailment and during conflict. Such are the people of truth. And they are the God-Fearing.” (Quran 2:177)

Salam Friends, after reading the input i find that you are on the point however the above post encompasses what Islam is all about and as a Muslims we should try to exhibit what the posters have said and put it into practice and in our day to day activities. May Almighty Allah guide us on the right path Ameen.

no matter how much you try you can never be totally perfect/righteous.

yet God wants perfection because he cannot behold sin at any level: can't compromise is Holiness.
