Politics / 2023: Those Who Say, We Either Rule Or Divide Should Never Be Given Power - Gumi by 9jaaObserver(m): 7:13am On May 05, 2022

Muslim cleric, Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar Gumi, who was popularly known in the past to mediate between the Nigerian government and the terrorist Bandits, has given his take on the incoming 2023 Nigerian general election.

The Nigerian general election which is slated to occur in the year 2023 has become the talk of the town currently in the country. The southern part of Nigeria, especially the south-east, are clamouring for the Presidential seat. However, there has been aspirant from different regions of the country also vying for the political position.

In view of this, Gumi, has reacted by saying that no political position should be given to those who are of the opinion that it is either the rule or divide.

He further advised churches and mosques to desist from assisting those who spew, what he termed, "the fans of hatred and embers of xenophobia."

In his opinion, since we run a democratic system of government, political seats should be given not according to region, religion, or ethnicity but the ability to convince Nigerians to vote for the person's mandate.

He cautioned that we should not give way to bigots, ethnics chauvinists and religious extremists' any chance to destabilize the nation.

Politics / Presidency 2023: If You Want Power, Emulate The North - Reno Tells Southerners by 9jaaObserver(m): 12:35am On May 05, 2022
The former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has taken to his official Twitter page to advise the southern part of Nigeria on the path to tread if they want the presidential seat come 2023 presidential election.

Nigeria is divided majorly into southern and northern Nigeria. Furthermore, Nigerian runs a democratic system of government, this means that selected aspirants from different political parties are voted for, the candidate who has the highest number of votes is elected into the political position they are vying for.

Over the years in Nigerian elections, it has been observed that the northern part of Nigeria always have the greater number of votes than those in the south. This simply is as a result of their willingness and doggedness to obtain their PVC's and endure whatever situation they found themselves so as to vote in their preferred candidates.

Reno Omokri while praising the northerners for their doggedness during elections, he also uses the opportunity to advise Nigerian southerners to emulate their northern counterpart if they want to get the presidential seat come 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

In his tweet, he wrote, "You see these our Northern brothers? They will stay on that queue even if it rains. Even if the card readers stop working, they will wait. If they are told to go and return tomorrow, they will choose to sleep there. Let’s emulate them. That is the way to get power!"
