AutosWhat To Look At When Buying An Auction Car by aamadmin(op): 4:37pm On Oct 04, 2019
Buying an auction car can be a very overwhelming process. You can be confused by all the action going around if you attend a live auction. And if you’re a first-timer or amateur, the experience can be very daunting. If you choose an online car auction, you can also be overwhelmed by the steps you’ll need to cover. That’s why it’s so important for you to be prepared.

With the correct preparation, buying at a car auction is an excellent choice. Auctions are gaining more and more popularity because you can find great deals. There is a big chance that you find what you’re looking for without surpassing your budget. However, you still need to be very cautious. We’ll go through the basic things you need to look at when buying an auction car.

Know What You’re Looking For

The most important thing you need to have very clear is your research. Make a thorough research of every single detail about the car you want. Make sure that the car you want fits your needs. It’s important that you make a smart purchase that won’t give you problems in the future. And, the more you know, the less confused you’ll be when it’s time to buy your car.

Being honest with yourself is key. Make a realistic choice considering your needs and your budget. And then stick to it. Don’t let yourself get carried away by the emotion of the auction.

Check the Value of the Car

Once you know the make and model of the ideal car you’ll search for, check the value of it before you make your bid. There are online resources like Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds where you can find how much different used cars are worth.

Download the Vehicle History Report

It’s important that you make a VIN check, especially if you’re buying an auction car online. Some online car auction sites will let registered users download a limited number of VIN reports for free. Taking advantage of this benefit is key for you to know the number of owners of the car, or if it was in any accident.

If you’re attending a live auction, make sure that the VIN number matches in all of the car’s stickers. Chances are the car is rebuilt and was involved in a major accident if the numbers are not the same.

What You See is What You Get

There’s no such thing as love at first sight at car auctions. You may be looking at a shiny beautiful car, but you don’t know what the car has gone through. It may have been in a major accident and got rebuilt. This can be a problem for you in the future if you don’t have knowledge of it.

All auctions have a “As Is” condition, which means there are no guarantees. Under this condition, you agree to buy the car in the exact condition it’s in, without any repairs or changes. After you make the purchase, you are responsible of any repairs that the car needs.

Buying an Auction Car

Buying an auction car is a great choice once you have a solid research and follow these basic steps. Whichever type of auction you choose, you’ll be able to save thousands on a great car that fits your wants and needs.

AutosShould I Buy An Auction Car? by aamadmin(op): 6:47pm On Oct 02, 2019
The used car market is undoubtedly growing, with more people expressing interest in purchasing used cars. After deciding you are ready to buy a used car, you need to decide where to buy it. Do you look for a private seller, go to a dealership, or should you buy an auction car?

According to the 2016 National Auto Auction Association report, auctions around the United States had received over 17 million cars. This was a 2.3% increase from the previous year. Over nine million used vehicles are sold in the US every quarter. Almost half of these cars pass through auctions.

Although it can be tedious looking for a car at an auction, there are many advantages to buying a used car at an auction.

A Massive Number of Cars from Which to Choose

If you buy a car from a private seller or a dealership, there is a chance you will not like the cars you see or fail to get the car you are interested in. Auto auctions, on the other hand, can offer you a much wider variety of vehicles, making it more likely that you will find what you want. Many sellers choose auctions because the possibility of selling the car within a short time is high.

Whether you are physically going to an auction or shopping online, you need to have an idea of the car you are likely to buy. This will save you some time since you will focus on the car of your choice. It is best to have several options so that you can pick the best car from your preferred list.

Great Cars at a Reasonable Price

The price of the vehicle is a crucial factor for most used car buyers. Before visiting an auction, you should find out the market price of the type of car and model you would like to buy. This way, you will know your bidding limit. It would also help to determine if you can afford the car or if you should opt for a cheaper brand and model.

You need to note that the cars at the auction are in different conditions. You will discover cars of the same brand and model but with different prices. Sometimes, the difference in price can be staggering. However, when buying used cars, it is crucial to consider more than just the cost of the car. The vehicle’s condition is equally important.

Auction sites like autoauctionmall.com have a significant number of affordable cars. You just need to choose a vehicle that fits your budget.

Different Categories of Car

Although used cars are sold at auctions, they are not all the same. Some are in mint condition, others require minimal repairs, while others, like salvage cars, may need extensive repairs. People visit auctions for various reasons, including the purchase of salvage cars. These vehicles are available at a low price.

Some of the damage on salvage cars is on the body, while some of the issues may be mechanical. These cars are popular because of their favorable prices. Some buyers buy these cars, fix them and sell them at a profit. It is best to determine the type of car you are interested in before visiting the auction. This way, you can focus on the vehicle that has captured your interest.

AutosDo You Need An Auction License To Buy A Car? by aamadmin(op): 3:56am On Sep 30, 2019
Auctions are a great place to buy cars cheaper than at the dealership. But do you need an auction license to buy a car from them? The answer is NO – at least if you access them online.

Car Auctions are Getting Popular

Buying cars at auctions is becoming more and more popular among private buyers. This is so for a number of reasons. The most important of these reasons is the price, but there are others. Auctions offer a greater variety of vehicles than your ordinary dealership, and you don’t need to spend your time haggling for a better price. When you can avoid paying a dealer’s markup on a car, why not go for it, right?

Also, if the auction is online, you can do your bidding from the comfort and safety of your own home. Online auctions can be very convenient. You can get all the information you need online and save yourself a trip. On top of that, online car auctions like Auto Auction Mall provide you with excellent customer support, can take care of the paperwork and even arrange transportation for your car.

No wonder then that the popularity of car auctions, and especially online car auctions, is on the rise. You get a huge variety of vehicles at low prices. Add convenience and great customer support, and you’ve got an unbeatable combination.

Different Types of Auctions

With all these benefits, you would think everybody would be eager to get their next car from an auction. However, many people still hesitate. One of the reasons for this is that many potential buyers still think they need a license to take part in a car auction. That is only partially true.

There are two main types of auction: public auctions and dealer auctions. As the name suggests, public auctions are open to everyone and do not require a license at all. These can be government auctions selling off old police or service cars, as well as impounded vehicles. These can also be auctions selling used or salvage cars. Anybody can take part, and the vehicles are usually very cheap, although some may be in less than ideal condition.

Dealer auctions are different. These auctions are where car dealers get their stock. The quality of the vehicles is higher, including new or like-new vehicles. The prices are also usually higher than at public auctions, but they are still much cheaper than at the dealership. This is because, after buying the vehicles at the auction, dealers add their markup.

Strictly speaking, you would need a license to take part in a dealer auction, namely a dealer license. This is a document that proves that you are a registered and authorised car dealer. Getting one is not easy or cheap, and it is definitely not worth getting one if you only want to buy yourself a new car. However, there are lawful ways around this restriction. And that’s where companies like Auto Auction Mall can help you.

How Auto Auction Mall Can Help

If you’re trying to attend an in-person dealer auction, there are few ways to get around the restrictions. You could attend with your car dealer friend, for example, and they may be able to bid on your behalf, but that’s it.

However, if you’re thinking of using online auctions, then a whole world of possibilities are open to you. Online dealer auctions will still require a dealer license, but there’s a loophole. Companies like Auto Auction Mall can use their own dealer license to give you access to those dealer auctions.

Think of Auto Auction Mall as your car dealer friend. You can browse and get all the information you need about the hundreds of thousands of vehicles available at the website. This means that, for a very reasonable fee, private buyers can attend any online auction they would like, without the need for any sort of license thanks to Auto Auction Mall.

The only thing you can’t do yourself is bid. But you can set your budget and a maximum bid limit. Auto Auction Mall’s many auction experts will give you all the information you need and then bid on your behalf for the vehicle of your choice, up to the limit you set. This means that no car is off-limits, as long as it is within your budget. You can even let Auto Auction Mall take care of the delivery of your car up to your driveway upon completion of your purchase.

In short, buying a car at auction, and especially at an online auction, is full of benefits and advantages. Don’t miss out on these advantages on account of a mistaken belief that you’d need a license to take part. Most auctions don’t require any licenses whatsoever. For those that do, there are ways around it that also bring their own advantages. So next time you need a car, don’t hesitate and give online car auctions a try.

AutosIs It Worth To Buy A Salvage Car? by aamadmin(op): 6:15pm On Sep 27, 2019
Many people believe that there isn’t much anybody can do with a salvage car, except perhaps scavenging it for parts. However, that’s far from the truth. Plenty of salvage cars can be bought very cheaply, repaired, retitled and then put back on the road. So, is it worth it to buy a salvage car?

What Is a Salvage Car?

Salvage cars are cars got a salvage title. Now, there are several reasons for a car to get a salvage title. Usually, it is because the insurance companies conclude that it is easier to write off a car that had an accident or sustained any sort of damage and pay its owner for its value than to pay for it to be repaired.

Sometimes, though, cars get a salvage title due to acts of vandalism, or because the car has been stolen and recovered only after it has been written off. These cars can be in perfect mechanical condition and actually are great candidates for purchase.

One thing you must remember is that insurance companies are interested in recovering some of the money they had to pay the previous owner of the vehicle. So they don’t keep the salvage vehicles. Rather, they put them up for auction and are willing to part with the vehicles for a very low price.

What to do with a Salvage Car?

However, if you’d like to buy a salvage car just because they are so cheap, you need to think twice first. You can’t just buy a salvage car, even one that is still in working condition, and just use it to drive around town.

Legally, salvage cars can’t be driven on the road before they are repaired and inspected. Only after this process is completed are you issued a ‘rebuilt salvage’ title that allows you to drive the car on the road.

If you are technically inclined, know your way around cars, and don’t mind getting your hands dirty in your spare time, then salvage cars could be a great option for you. These cars are auctioned off for pennies on the dollar compared to the same cars with clean titles. And if you do the work yourself or get good deals with a repair shop to fix the car for you, you can end up owning a car for a lot less than you would pay for it if it had a clean title.

However, there is a process you have to follow along the way. During the repair process, you have to document every spare part purchase and take many pictures of the repair process (before/after) so that you can later register the car and get the rebuilt salvage title. If everything checks out at the inspection at your local motoring authority, you will be issued such a license.

Getting Insurance

Another issue with rebuilt salvage vehicles is that insurance companies don’t really like to insure these cars again. However, if you persuade them to inspect the car themselves, you might get a quote and manage to insure the car. On the other hand, bear in mind that the premium will certainly be higher than it would be for a car with a clear license, simply because it is a car that was once written off.

However, even with all the expenses, inspections and insurance premium worked in, your total cost could be well below the retail price of the same car with a clear license.

Buying a Salvage Car

As mentioned before, these vehicles are usually sold at auctions. These are generally specialized insurance auctions, normally only accessible to the holder of dealer licenses. However, this does not mean you can’t take advantage of this opportunity.

Online auto auction platforms like Auto Auction Mall give you access to a large number of auctions across the country, including insurance and dealer auctions. This allows you to choose among hundreds of thousands of vehicles, including salvage cars. Auto Auction Mall lets you browse, get all the information you need and choose the vehicle you wish to bid on.

However, you cannot bid yourself. Auto Auction Mall will bid on your behalf, up to the maximum bid you set. Once you win the auction, Auto Auction Mall will take care of the paperwork and may even arrange shipping.

AutosWhat Is A Salvage Title? by aamadmin(op): 7:01pm On Sep 25, 2019
If you’re shopping for a car, you probably visited various car lots, talked with dealers and even visited an auto auction. As many car shoppers know, vehicles sold at auction come in all shapes, sizes, and conditions. But the most attractive feature of cars sold at auctions is the price, especially the vehicles with salvage brand. You may be tempted to buy such a car. But not knowing what a salvage title is may be holding you back. So what is a salvage car and what are the pros and cons of buying one?

What is a Salvage Title?

So, what does a salvage title actually mean? In simple terms, a salvage title is issued for a vehicle that has sustained damage and the insurance company assesses that it is better to pay off the previous owner rather than cover the repair cost. The criteria an insurance company uses to deem a car a total loss vary from one state to another.

On average, if a car has sustained damage and the cost of repairs are 70 percent of the vehicle’s cost at the time of the incident, the car is declared a total loss and a claim is paid on it. However, this is an average threshold. In some states, it can be as low as 50 percent, like in Iowa, or even as high as 100 percent in states like Texas. In Michigan, for example, the car gets a salvage title if the damage extent ranges between 75 and 90 percent.

But if the damage is assessed to be 91 percent of the pre-incident vehicle value, the car is given a scrap title or what some states call junk titles.

How Does a Vehicle Get a Salvage Title?

The reasons for a car to be given a salvage title car vary. It could have had an accident, flooding damage or other adverse weather conditions like hail. In some states, if a car gets stolen and is not recovered by the police within a certain period of time, that car is written off and the insurance company pays a claim on it. You may also find that cars that have been written on with spray paint or have broken windows and whose bodywork was damaged in an act of vandalism are written off and become salvage vehicles.

But, as you can assume from the thresholds and the damage extent, even if some cars are given a salvage title this does not mean they are beyond repair. Legally, you can’t drive a car with a salvage title on the road unless it goes through a recertification process and an inspection, which we will talk about later. But this does, however, mean that you can buy and drive a car with a salvage title but there are things to look for and a process to go through before this is legally possible.

Buying Cars With Salvage Titles

Some estimates say that a car with a salvage title can be up to 75 percent cheaper than its equivalent used car with a clean title. This is great if you’re looking for a lower initial payment, not worrying about taking out an auto loan, or taking out private party finance, or even using up your credit card allowance. This is particularly good for people with a low credit score.

There are a lot of factors that determine car value and whether this price difference is actually worth it. You need to consider that the car needs repairs and recertification before going back on the road. So it is important that you factor in those costs into your calculations.

Where to Find Them

You will not be able to buy a car with a salvage title at your local used car dealership. Salvage vehicles are usually auctioned off. Insurance companies put these salvage vehicles on auction in order to recover as much cash as they can from these vehicles. With the different thresholds for a vehicle to be issued a salvage title, the cars put up on auction are in all sorts of conditions.

Some will need a lot less money and effort to be fixed while others will take time, labor and purchasing of spare parts. Some cars end up being in perfect condition with either no or minimal damage. If you plan on selling your car, make sure you factor in the cost of repairs into the budget as it will help you determine the resale value of the car.

Do Your Research

When you go shopping for a salvage car at an auction, you need to be prepared. Research plays a huge role when it comes to buying salvage vehicles. There are resources you can use to check for vehicle history. However, this might not show you the full condition of the car. Physical blemishes, dings, and dents are easy to spot, and often easy to fix. But if a car has sustained flood damage, you might not notice anything wrong.

It might have been cleaned to the point where you don’t see any mold or anything wrong with the car. The issue can grow even further if you can’t start the car at the auction place. Flooded vehicles often have issues with electrical installations. For example, the electronic gadgets can be out of sorts, but if you can’t test them you wouldn’t know. If you can’t assess the condition of the car yourself, it is advisable to bring someone with you, a mechanic or anyone who knows their way around cars who can have the car inspected and help you spot the potential problems. An original repair estimate from the insurance company may even be possible to obtain.

Additionally, auctions are an overwhelming experience especially for someone who is a first-time visitor/buyer. The crowd noise, the speakers screaming numbers and registering bids, cars being moved around, this can all be a bit too much for a newcomer. In these cases, online shopping could be a better option. Not only are you able to avoid all the commotion, but there are also certain advantages you can take advantage of.

If you know what car you are looking for, here are a few tips for buying salvage vehicles. First, compare the prices of your desired vehicle online. There are plenty of resources for that like the Kelley Blue Book or Cargurus. Subtract about 50-75 percent off that value and this is your targeted budget.

The Advantages of Buying Online

Your next step is to find a reputable website. For example, Auto Auction Mall has a huge database of salvage vehicles listed for auction. The advantages of these websites are significant. You are assigned an agent with knowledge of the market. You get to browse auction inventories more easily. And you can tailor the search to include only the salvage vehicles with options and safety features you require. You can go through all the available details included in the listing and look at the photos of the car.

You will be assisted with the bidding, the purchase and the delivery of the car to your driveway. This all makes the car buying a more appealing experience compared to physically attending an auction. There are also additional resources available at your fingertips when you are browsing online. Kelley Blue Book is certainly a great resource, but there are similar sites that you can consult as well.

Each car listed for auction will have the VIN number included that you can use to search for a car’s full history. This can tell you what sort of life the car has had previously, whether it was serviced regularly and you can find patterns of repairs and spare parts that have failed more often throughout the car’s life. But your ‘struggle’ with a car that has a salvage title starts only after you have it delivered to your driveway because this is where the recertification process starts.

Repairing a Salvage Car

A car with a salvage title can’t be driven on the road legally unless it is repaired and recertified. The process starts with the repairs. Depending on the state, you can repair the vehicle yourself or you may need to hire a certified mechanic. Repairing a salvage car is a meticulous process. Take as many photos as possible of the repair process. File, and catalog all the spare parts information. Keep all the receipts from the spare parts you have purchased to use during the repair process.

Getting a Salvage Rebuilt Title

Once the repairs are completed, all states require you to go through the Department of Motor Vehicles and fill out certain forms. For example, in the state of Georgia, you have to use a licensed rebuilder for the repair process. But before the car is painted, you have to have the car inspected. This can be done either by private inspectors certified by the state or in certification stations. You have to tow the car to the inspection station. Some private inspectors will come and complete the inspection at your place. Important: Each State has different rules when it comes to rebuilding cars. Make sure you follow the correct guidelines by choosing your State in our list of Rebuilt Title Rules Guides.

Documents and Photographs

E.g. in Georgia, a certified rebuilder will file a request for an inspection of a rebuilt motor vehicle. If you are living in a state where you are allowed to complete the repairs yourself, you will be required to file the equivalent of Georgia’s form T-22R yourself. Additionally, you will have to submit all the required documents signed by you. These usually include a Tag/Title application, and labor and parts certification as well as the original salvage title. The requirements vary from state to state, but these are the general documents you have to submit signed. In addition, provide all the photographs and the spare part receipts to the inspector. You will need to have the original repair receipts.

The inspector will look for names and stock numbers of the parts, the names of the buyer and seller of the parts as well as the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car that the part was initially installed in. This is a step required to prevent the use of stolen parts during the repair. This is also why you have to look into the vehicle history report when purchasing a car.

Even if you are buying a car from the used car dealer, check the vehicle history reports to make sure there is no title washing going on. This happens when a salvage vehicle is brought into another state that doesn’t recognize the salvage brand. The car is issued a new title which may conceal its salvage status. This illegal move can up its resale value significantly.

Fees and Insurance

If you have the car inspected by a private inspector, you will have to pay an inspector’s fee.

Once you have passed the inspection, you can go and submit all the documentation and materials to your local Department of Motor Vehicles as well as the inspector’s report. You will also have to pay a state fee and a title fee. To avoid the private inspector’s fee, you can use the state inspection station.

However, the waiting time might be a lot longer, weeks longer at times. Insurance can be another issue when it comes to dealing with rebuilt salvage titles. Insurance companies are reluctant to provide liability insurance, not to mention comprehensive insurance coverage on cars that have previously been written off. The argument is that they have no way of knowing that, in case you file a claim with a rebuilt salvage title, the damage sustained is new and not the damage that got the car a salvage brand in the first place.

Inspections

However, there are ways of working with insurance companies. This is where all the certification, inspection and documentation can come in handy. Some cars insurance companies may outright refuse to deal with you, while others might give you a quote. The downside is that the premium will be higher than usual.

The next step is to compare quotes from different cars insurance companies. You can then use your paperwork to show that the car has passed a state inspection.

In addition, some cars insurance companies will have your car inspected by a hired certified inspector. You might get a quote that will not leave you feeling like you have been ripped off. This is where the recertification process ends. You can either keep the car or sell the car on if you see a profit in the deal.

Salvage Title Considerations

You can take out several key points from this article. Salvage vehicles have sustained damage that causes the cars insurance companies to write them off. Some might have been stolen and recovered after the insurance company has paid the claim. A number of these cars are in mint condition or minimal damage with minimal cost of repair. One of these could be a perfect car to save some cash.

Salvage title vehicles, for those who know their way around cars, are a good way of getting a cheap car.

You can then fix the car and use it as a daily driver. Alternatively, you can sell the car on for a profit. If re-titling and repair costs stay below the price of an equivalent clean title vehicle, it’s a good deal. Make sure you know what you are buying. This should minimize the chance for disappointment, and maximize your savings. Salvage title cars can be a great way to purchase used cars cheaper than you would pay at a dealership.

AutosHow To Buy A Used Car Through Online Auto Auctions by aamadmin(op): 4:53am On Sep 24, 2019
You’ve probably heard a lot of buzz about online auto auctions. And if you’re here, there’s a big chance you’re interested and want to learn how the process works. Don’t worry, we’re giving you all the details you need so you’re ready to buy your next used car and save thousands by skipping the middle-man.

Preparing Yourself

First thing’s first. Whether you’re buying your car at an auto auction or not, you always need to be prepared. We recommend you know exactly which type of car you want. But most of all, you need to know exactly which type of car you need. Because chances are you have a budget that you need to stick to. So, if you don’t know what will fit your needs, you’re probably going to spend more than necessary.

Take into account variables such as safety and reliability. Also, if you have a big family or if you need to commute every day. These are things that will help you know which type of car can give you the most benefits out of the price you pay.

Benefits of Buying at Online Auto Auctions

There are many benefits of buying at auto auctions, but here we’re going to focus on three that we think are the most important.

1. Save Time. You won’t have to deal with the hassle of going to different dealers and look at the cars they have. This will help you save time and energy.

2. Save Money. When buying at auto auctions you are saving the money that you would spend on price mark-ups found at dealers.

3. Find Great Deals. At online auto auctions you can find cars you only dreamed of at very affordable prices. Even after doing minor repairs, you’d still save money on them.

Drawbacks of Buying at Online Auto Auctions

As like with any other business, not doing appropriate research is one of the major drawbacks when buying at online auto auctions. If you don’t know how the process works, and don’t know the different fees, you could face setbacks or surprises when finalizing your purchase. Whereas, if you investigate and know what you’re doing, then online auto auctions are a walk in the park.

One of the main things you should know about these type of auctions, is their clause ‘As Is Where Is’. This means you agree to buy the car in the state it’s in, without any changes or repairs done. With this in mind, you know which type of car to look for.

Buying Through Auto Auction Mall

As Copart’s authorized representative, Auto Auction Mall gives you dealer-level access to every major used, salvage & insurance vehicle auction house in the US. You’ll have instant access to over 150,000 auctioned vehicles. This will allow you to save thousands while purchasing, financing, and shipping your vehicles through one convenient portal.

Auto Auction Mall was built on one simple premise – The public should have access to dealer-only auctions that it would not otherwise have access to in order to save thousands on their car purchase. Think about it, dealers attend these dealer-only auctions to purchase cars at wholesale prices, then they clean up the car (including possibly making minor repairs) and then sell these cars to you, the public, for thousands more than what they paid.

It’s very simple. All you need to do is register for an account, make a security deposit, and start bidding!

How To Register

Registering to Auto Auction Mall is very easy. You can start by clicking here to provide your information for the account. You will only be asked to enter your full name, email address, and phone number.

What is Buying Power?

Once you have registered and have you account, you need something called Buying Power in order to start bidding. You can obtain Buying Power by making a security deposit to your account. The security deposit acts as an assurance that you will complete the purchase of the vehicle if you are the winner of the auction, if your offer is accepted or if you used the Buy Now option.

The deposit must be 10% of the amount you wish to spend on the car, with a minimum deposit amount of $400. If you wish to buy a car for $8,000 you will need to make a deposit of $800. However, if you wish to buy a car for $3,000, the deposit amount must be $400 because $400 is the minimum security deposit amount.

Buying and Shipping your Car

Now that you have your account, and have Buying Power, you can start bidding for any car you want. Auto Auction Mall has an inventory of over 150,000 vehicles available for auction. There are also auction agents available to assist you in the process of buying and shipping. Shipping costs will vary by where the car you’ve purchased is located.

Autos5 Things First-time Buyers Need To Know About Car Auctions by aamadmin(op): 4:35pm On Sep 17, 2019
By now, you’ve probably heard a lot about car auctions. And of course, you may be curious to know about how they work. Because let’s be honest, they are a great place to land amazing deals on used or salvage cars. However, there are several things you’ll need to know about them, especially if you’re a first-time buyer.

Car auctions are a good option if you want to save money on a used car. Plus, the process is simple. But if you’ve decided to buy for the first time, you need to know what to expect. So, we have prepared a list of five things that first-time buyers need to know about car auctions.

You Need to Have Your Budget Ready

One of the most important things when buying used cars at auctions is your budget. Every cent you spend is key in order to get the most advantages. The first thing you need to keep in mind is that car auctions charge fees. So, before you buy your car at an auction, make sure you know all the fees that you’ll need to pay. This way, you will include them in your budget beforehand.

The second thing regarding budget, is that you’ll also need to include repairs money. Take into account that car auctions have used or salvage cars. Usually, these cars are slightly damaged or have dents and scratches. You can get a great deal on your car if you include repairs in your budget. This way, you buy a car that need minor repairs and have them fixed or tuned however you like.

Have a Clear Knowledge About the Car you Want

Research, research, research. This is vital when buying at car auctions. Before diving in to find your car, do a thorough research. It’s very important that you have a clear knowledge about how the process works. Read everything about the car auction that you’re looking to buy at. Registration, buying power, and fees, are the basic things you need to know about as a first-time buyer. Most online car auctions have all the information of interest on their websites.

Additionally, have a clear knowledge about the car you want to buy. Do your research on its fuel economy, price range, spare parts, etc. The more you know about the car, the more mistakes you’ll avoid. Having a research well done will let you make your budget right and avoid surprises regarding fees or auction house charges.

Know the “As Is” Condition of Car Auctions

Something you need to know about car auctions is their “As is” condition. This means that you agree to buy the car in whatever condition it is currently in. Accepting this condition is to legally accept that no repairs will be done by the auction company. This is why it’s important that you include repair costs to your budget.

Check the Vehicle History Report

Have at hand all the information about the car you choose. Many of the cars sold at car auctions can look perfect on the outside but have damage on the inside. This is why it’s very important that you check the vehicle history report. This report will indicate if the car has been involved in any accident, or any other relevant information about previous owners and activity.

You can also include in your research to check the car’s price. There are various sites like Kelley Blue Book where you can kind this information. Online car auction sites like Auto Auction Mall will give you a limited amount of VIN check downloads for free when you register as a buyer.

Ask All the Questions you Have Before the Auction

Finally, ask absolutely every question you have before bidding at any auction. If you have your research done, and your budget is ready but you still have questions, ask them. Car auctions have agents that can answer every question before you buy. You can also check their website for the FAQs and see if you have all the information covered.

AutosHow Much To Ship A Car To Nigeria From The USA? by aamadmin(op): 12:11am On Sep 13, 2019
Ninety percent of used vehicles bought and sold in the Nigerian market are imported. This represents between 200,000 thousand and half a million imported vehicles a year, depending on estimates. However, this reliance on imported used vehicles has come under threat lately. The Nigerian government has recently worked to protect the domestic car industry in Nigeria by introducing levies on used car imports from June 2015 onwards. The market, however, has endured a bad spell as the government set out to protect its domestic car industry and introduced levies on used car imports starting June 2015. We look at how long it takes to ship, and how much to ship a car to Nigeria from the USA.

If you’re interested in buying a used car in Nigeria, you will be happy to learn that there are better options than to just go to your local dealer. In fact, you can buy your imported vehicle directly from the United States. How? By buying from online auto auctions through a third-party proxy company like Auto Auction Mall. This will let you get your hands on a cheap US vehicle from the comfort of your home.

Auto Auction Mall

Through Auto Auction Mall, you’ll have access to hundreds of thousands of vehicles. You will need to set up and account, and then it’s just a matter of browsing, examining all the details and choose the vehicle you want. With help from Auto Auction Mall’s expert customer support, you will be able to get the vehicle of your dreams at a very affordable price.

Now that that is all taken care of, all you need to do is have the car delivered to you in Nigeria. This, as you probably imagine, can be a complex logistical problem and may take some time. Fortunately, the whole process can be streamlined if you work with Auto Auction Mall. Auto Auction Mall will put you in touch with brokers who can assist you in shipping the car from the auction house to Nigeria as well as in dealing with the necessary paperwork.

How to Ship a Car to Nigeria

Generally speaking, there are two ways you can ship your car to Nigeria. Ro/Ro shipping requires your car to be able to move under its own power, since the car will be driven on to the ship and then off it when it reaches its destiantion. Container Shipping is a much safer option because the car is enclosed in a container and shielded from the elements. This option is also more expensive.

Six ports provide Ro/Ro shipping from the United States to Nigeria. These are: Galveston, Texas, Jacksonville, Florida, Savannah, Georgia, Portsmouth, Virginia, Bayonne, New Jersey and Baltimore, Maryland.

As for container shipping, you can use the following ports: Oakland and Long Beach in California, Houston, Texas, Miami, Florida, Savannah, Georgia and Newark, New Jersey.

The vessels can arrive at two ports in Lagos: Tin Can Island (Ro/Ro) and Apapa (container ships). Once the vessel arrives, import duties and other requirements are your own responsibility.

Autos5 Best Easy To Maintain Vehicles In Nigeria by aamadmin(op): 4:37pm On Aug 29, 2019
It is common knowledge that most car owners in Nigeria don’t really take the servicing and maintenance of their vehicles seriously until a fault develops. It’s not uncommon to even find car owners “managing” for a while, bringing on more damage to the car unknowingly. This is why we want you to know the best easy to maintain vehicles you can find in Nigeria.

Car maintenance is an important series of proceedings that must be carried out at intervals to maintain the efficiency of the vehicle. Owning a vehicle will require you to take responsibility for its maintenance. Failure to service your vehicle will expose you to probable accidents. The busy and hectic schedules of many Nigerians make it difficult for them to find time to take their vehicles for routine servicing. Thankfully, there are vehicles that are easy to maintain, which gives you ample time to prepare for proper servicing.

This article will show some cars that are strong enough to run all year with a quarterly maintenance plan. Also, if you’re budget is tight and you’re saving for servicing, then I hope you have one of the cars below as it’ll save you the extra cost of seeing a technician too frequently.

Toyota Corolla (All Years)

Toyota Corolla is a small car manufactured to suit the needs of those who don’t fancy big cars like trucks and SUV’s. The Corolla is portable, affordable, and doesn’t cost a lot to maintain. This makes it a favourite for Nigerians. Availability of parts and abundance of skilled labour is another top reason why you find many Nigerians loving this particular car.

Full and proper service maintenance for a Toyota Corolla annually would cost approximately N100-N130, 000. If your budget will not permit you to service annually, then you can split the money into four and find a technician who would be willing to service your vehicle quarterly.

Honda Accord (All Years)

While some Nigerians may prefer SUV’s for a range of reasons including bad roads and terrain, others prefer sedan cars. Regardless of the choice and Nigerian road conditions, Honda is, by all means, the second largest favourite amongst Nigerians when it comes to car ownership. Popular Honda models in Nigeria include Accord, Pilot and the Civic models. Some Honda lovers would argue for the interior while others would say handling makes Honda cars their favourites. Notwithstanding, we can dispute the ease of maintenance and availability of parts gives Honda brands the much-needed edge.

The cost of maintenance for this vehicle is approximately N100-140, 000 in a 12-month time frame. Very small difference compared to the Corolla.

Toyota Avalon (All Years)

It would be unbelievable if there wasn’t another Toyota on this list. The Avalon is also a sedan car that’s a little bigger and more luxurious than the first two sedan vehicles mentioned. The Avalon speaks style and trendiness and the fact that most Avalons come in 6 cylinder variants with posh interiors also makes it a favourite for many Nigerians.

Being a Toyota product, routine maintenance and servicing won’t cost an arm. Cost of maintenance for the Avalon is approximately N120-150, 000 for a 12-month time frame.

Honda CR-V (All Years)

You don’t want a big car or a small car, say no more; this is your answer. The Honda CR-V is the perfect SUV for those in your category. One would assume that because of its high ranking and style, the cost of maintenance would be expensive. Fortunately, that’s not the case. The cost of maintenance for the CR-V is approximately N130-150, 000 annually.

Nissan Pathfinder (All Years)

Not leaving out the lovers of large SUVs, the Pathfinder is a strong vehicle that seems well suited and built for the ruggedness of the Nigerian road. It is another vehicle with surprisingly affordable maintenance cost. With a beauty like this, you have absolutely no maintenance issue that cannot be sorted out.

Nissan parts and skilled labour are just like the Toyotas, readily accessible in Nigeria so no worries if your Nissan needs to have something replaced. The cost of repair and maintenance yearly goes between N150-160, 000.

Feel free to check out online inventory on www.autoauctionmall.com. for your dream cars including the ones listed above at a fraction of the retail cost. With Auto Auction Mall, you have the opportunity to attend dealer only auctions, carry out inspections and be sure you aren’t buying a vehicle that would drill a hole in your pocket because of the maintenance. AutosWhy Should I Buy My Car Through Auto Auction Mall From Nigeria? by aamadmin(op): 10:22pm On Aug 23, 2019
If you’re reading this, you’re probably actively searching for the best place or option to buy used cars from U.S auctions. Great! We will tell you her why you should buy your car through Auto Auction Mall from Nigeria.

Choosing to buy used cars from auctions in the U.S is the right decision. Primarily, because of the cost it saves you. You are able to buy used vehicles at a fraction of their retail costs. You would also need to pay a premium or subscription fee of anywhere between $200 and $500 and that’s where Auto Auction Mall comes in.

Auto Auction Mall is the largest online vehicle auction marketplace that provides access to dealer-only and private auctions in North America you usually wouldn’t have access to without some type of subscription payment or dealer license. From the Auto Auction Mall website, you are able to access vehicle auctions from auction houses such as Manheim, Copart, Adesa, and IAAI.

Auto auction mall has been in existence since the year 2013 and continues to assist thousands of people from all over the world to purchase their dream cars without hassles and at excellent prices. To meet the requirement, there are at least 12-14 steps and licenses to get through and obtain.

That’s not all, you’d also have to submit some statements, have a retail space and show proof of it before you’ll be issued the dealer’s license. The good news is that, at AAM, you are granted access to dealer-only auctions. AAM bridges the gap and gives you the opportunity to purchase your dream car at an affordable price. You can save the hassle of buying at up to twice the cost from the dealers. Think about having access to where your local car dealer or merchant re-stocks from.
