A friend told me few months ago about Ijaw people's behaviour, he said when an ijaw man is in place of power, they celebrate him to the high heavens but immediately he leaves the position, the same people who celebrated him earlier will make a u-turn and call him a foolish man and all sort of names. The person told me this when boy loaf and some militants started castigating Jonathan after may 29. I did not believe my friend then but with what I can now hear what papa Clark is saying, am sorry to say that my friend was right after all.

What type of freedom are they fighting for and how has it benefited their people? Or obviously fighting for their own cut?

one thing u have to understand is that they are not fighting for the whole delta state pipo but da region where oil is located for government to bring development to there not to d whole state beside no Ijaw oil producing region is sitting on the floor to learn........so that's not tompolo matter that's government of the state matter

You need to visit the riverine Ijaw communities where oil is exploited,you will shake your head to see the age long neglect and abject poverty that oozes out.This brought about the urgent need to claim what rightly belong to them.It was a worthy and urgent struggle for self determination which Tompolo,and Asari fought.They didn't do it for self aggrandisement or for popularity but for the overall interest of Niger Deltans.
