@ abdul, all things being equal, the list of successful candidates should have been compiled by now, and perhaps forwarded to the ministry of education (as some had claimed).

Omo, you give me work now ooo. Okay, in that Arts list, from Abdulsalam Abdullahi to Adeyemi Abdulwaheed came from Kwara. Kwara has 6 applicants for admin assistant, 2 for admin officer, 1 for accountant, 1 for asst lecturer and 1 for graduate asst. So 9 for NA and 2 for Academic.

We have just one person from Lagos - Adekanbi.

As for the 200, they said it during the apt. test. If it includes those for academic and non academic (arts & sciences), I can't say for sure. What I am certain of is that the non academic positions will be monitored by FCC and the academic posts are left to the university's discretion on who is best to be employed given the backing of NUC.

Bros I am not expecting 6 from Abia just as 6 from Sokoto. As the case is, try to study the lists very well especially the Arts list. The Arts list was compiled in a way that those that did not fall within the catchment area produce at least one/best person for each non academic post. Abia you referred to just has only one person that passed the test for admin officer. Ebonyi has just one that passed as an accountant. Anambra has just 2, one as admin asst and the other as an officer. Sokoto has at least 7 in that Arts list. The FCC had to monitor that arts list so as to represent all the states at least one/best in a non academic post. Mind you, there are some states that did not participate in the test like Lagos and most south south states, and as people said their spots will be given to Sokoto (I am not sure of such arrangement. What I know is that the slot is given to the next state within the region).

As regards your university giving jobs without FCC monitoring it, that recruitment is not publicized like this one. I challenge you to show the date of that recruitment notice if you claim that it was publicized. Many universities employ but not massively as in this case. FCC don't know of those arrangements and when they become an issue FCC will deny the firm (see CBN recruitment scam). CBN was denied by FCC. Let's be hopeful that we make it.

Jozze1 the principle wasn't used for the science list; if you want to confirm what i said and your name is in the science list, try to check if the next name following yours is from your state. You can do the calculation by comparing the list of invitees for the test and that for interview. In the 1st, you will see the states of applicants. Another is, you will notice that the list for arts wasted time to come out; that was done purposely to sieve out the best in each state as demanded by FCC whenever an aptitude test is organized for a federal recruitment. This recruitment is massive and must be spread across board. So every state that participated in the aptitude test must appear in the list, which was done in the arts list. The recruitment is not for 6 candidates alone so it will not be based on 6 geo-political zones. It is for many so every state that passed the aptitude test must be represented. As for the academic cadre, the FCC is not involved in their recruitment because the criteria for selecting those people are stipulated by nuc and solely left to the discretion of university authorities. I doubt if a person from FCC was present in your interview, I may be wrong but a woman from FCC was there during the interview of arts list.

The following excerpt from FCC on recruitment may help:

(5) At the close of advertisement, and from the long list of
all applications received, a shortlist of qualified candidates
shall be compiled for interview or any other mode of
selection on State by State basis:

a. drawing as much as possible, in equal number, from each
State of the Federation and approximately a third of that
number from the FCT, indicating also, the Local Government
Area of origin. (Where an aptitude test or any other type of
written or oral test is required as part of the selection
process, the compilation of results shall be on State by
State basis, in order to enable the best candidates from
each State and the FCT to be employed).

b. the best and most competent candidates from each State
of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory shall be
shortlisted to compete for positions reserved for their
respective States/Zones.

(6) The list of successful candidates shall be compiled and,
at a special joint meeting of the MDA and the FCC, and
matched, for consistency, with the pre-determined
distribution formulae.

@mopolchi so u r xpectin 6 from sokoto state and 6 from Abia state for instance, only in d millitary recruitment u can xpect situation like dat 4get FCC abeg. What do u want to say about MDAs dat dont even advertise for vacancy atall,for example my former university dont advertise for vacancy and dey recruit massively time by time and no any sanction frm FCC,lets just keep praying guy.

What i know quite well with FCC is that selection of that kind is based on geo-political zone. So if two persons passed excellently and come from the same zone , the overall best would be enlisted. This principle was also used for the science list, and was expected to have been used during the interview.

I dont know if anyone also noticed dis. I noticed dat all applicants were invited irrespective of weda u met d requirement as stated in d job advert or not,i mean dey did not SHORTlist but dey invited everybody dat applied, which make d process difficult for dem n make it more competitive,for instance a guy with chemistry/education applied 4 administrative assistant and was invited 4 d test, d guy pass d test untill we r call in 4 interview dey were askin him dat what was he doin here with chemistry, i also noticed dat most of guys i met dat applied for graduate asstnt dont have M.sc and dey were all invited , i doubt if dey go tru our applications b4 sendin us invitation txt.

Yes it looks like mere formality but I think there is an exception here. I would want you to go over to the federal character commission to read about recruitment there. Take a look at the science and arts lists, one thing you will notice is that one is arranged by states and the other is not arranged. This shows that the names that appeared on the arts list were carefully compiled as stipulated by FCC when there is an aptitude test for an appointment into a federal institution. In that list, you will notice that every state was represented except those states that failed to apply or even fail the aptitude test. At least the best for each post from each state that applied and passed the test was selected. Now the interview in my own view is merely a formality if you are the only person that passed from your state for a particular post. But if you are many in your state then the interview is not a formality since you are competing with other people from your state for the slots available. The arts list's interview was monitored by FCC to avoid wayo or cheating states that are in the minority for the recruitment. But for the science list, I don't know the criteria for choosing people in that list because that list did not follow FCC guideline for recruitment and was not monitored by FCC. I think the recruitment of people in that list is left to the discretion of the University's authority.

I can't say but overheard some people saying that by Monday, the list will be heading to the office of the honorable minister of Education. The final list will be made public after a certificate of compliance is issued to the university by Federal Character Commission.

i doubt if d whole recruitment process was not just a mere formalities as d interview was not dat serious.for instance i was ask to introduce masef and b4 i was done dey move to d nxt person, dey hardly spent up to 5min on one person. Do u call dat interview?

according to dia txt msg dat was sent .dey say interview of d succesful candidate will begin d following day. With dis i tink it wll b CBT,cos with CBT one can know his/her test result almost immediatelly u r true wit d test.and as such,u get to know weda u wll stay back 4 d interview or not,so for biro i cant say xactly dia intention.

somebody clearify me on this issue...I only have first degree, and cnt remember if it was graduate assist. Lecturer or assistn lecturer I applied. From what am seeing the above postn needs an m.sc to fill......help me out pls, am I qualify?

if a were u,once i recieve sms inviting me 4 d test or interview i wont shun dia invitation,someone once post issue like dis,he hold B.sc and was shortlisted just like u,if dia is no much M.sc holder for dat post,dey can consider B.sc so i think. Good luck.

yes just check group A list now,it has been adjusted, for instance d first time i checked d list, only applicants for Admin. Asstant were over 800 ppl but now reduced to 401 , i also notice dat my name s/n on d list has been changed, so total no. Of applicants on grp A is now 5,200 dis includes Admin. Officers, admin asst, graduate asst, nursing officers, acctant I&II, technologies, secrataries etc.

do u mean some names have been remove from d list in group A? If dats d case some may end up waste dia time and transport money cos some may not be aware of dis.in dat case let me check d list again to confirm ma name once more.

Many will agree with me that our parents prefer building a befitting house @ village to buying a car in the city, and many of us (youth) prefer to buying car with our first hundreds or million.pls whats ur opinion on this?
