Lady earning N360K sacked for not meeting monthly target of N300M

According to reports, a marketing expert from Nigeria making N360K a month lost her job in Lagos when she didnโ€™t reach her N300M monthly target.

A social media user using by the handle @Aguofapapa bemoaned his friendโ€™s predicament.

I am a sales manager and I must say, 300Mil a month is very unrealistic.

What prospects of 10billion would you have before you can get a conversion rate that will land you at 300Mil?

Very Very unrealistic.

Crime / Re: How I Was Scammed Through Fake Alert! by Abduletudaye(m): 8:13am On Apr 22
Thankgodiyke:
I used to hear of scam through fake alert I have never experienced it before until three days ago when this young looking couple came to my wife's shop to buy things. I usually go to pick my wife from shop when I close from my own business. On that fateful day around 8.pm her Gen went off as fuel got exhausted and so is the CCTV camera so their faces were not captured she was actually balancing her account and arranging to close for the day whey they came appearing all friendly and chatty and they picked some items everything amounted to 12k and they requested for Cash of 10k totaling 22k. They requested for account no and my wife called out her monie point account and the lady said she can't find monie point and requested for another bank account and my wife called out her GTB account she called the account name and said it was successful and flash the screen to my wife's face. My wife said they will have to wait for confirmation she logged in through her app and couldn't see anything. Meanwhile the guy was coughing seriously and the lady started complaining that her baby is crying in the car and ask to drop her phone no. After some time
I asked my wife to let them go out of my good heart and concern for the baby in the car that it could be network problem that is causing the delay after getting their contact. We got home I asked my wife to check she said nothing is in her account my wife decided to Dial that number surprising her Truecaller app brought out her name as 'Onye ohi Rice' meaning Rice thief that was when it dawn on us that we have been scammed. Since that day we have tried plenty times to call and chat the num on Whatsapp but no response. This is the number 08105384984 registered as Ifeanyi Nwakaibeya. I have refunded my wife the money though but I'm really sad that such young people go about stealing from people. Nairalanders I know it's a small change but I wish I can get this guy and lady and deal with them.

The fact that they said they didn't see moniepoint is an absolute lie (if they used a mobile app). They avoided that because they know alert will drop almost instantly but for GTB, not so much. It was at this point they flashed - most likely- a pre-saved screen of a successful transfer. I can guarantee the said successful trf didnt show the amount. It will not be well with those thieves.
Romance / Re: Girlfriend slapped me by Abduletudaye(m): 7:30pm On Apr 18
Mastermindfixu:
My girlfriend and I have been together a little over a year, and it's always been rocky. We've broken up many times (almost always me with her) but then we end up back together in a few days.
She has never hit me until today, and then suddenly slapped me after she held my shirt and pinned me against the wall. FYI - I did nothing to her in retaliation . However, I feel pained and disappointed by her action.

Reason - she saw me with a lady who was supposed to apply for the post of a chef at our residence and thought I was having an affair .

I explained myself and next best thing she said to me was that she is done with the relationship.

What do I do?

Leave the relationship immediately.

Car Talk / Re: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by Abduletudaye(m): 9:15pm On Feb 16
Missowombo:
Dear Family landers. I am here to seek your advice on how to rescue my car from my neighbour.
โ€‹
I bought a car, direct from abroad, a very clean and sweet ride, and registered in September, 2023 (5months ago). However, due to the high fuel consumption( V6, 3.5l engine) and the ever unstable fuel price today, I decided to put it up for sale to get a smaller engine capacity. A neighbour expressed interest in buying the car and decided to pay in installment which I agreed. I was also searching for a replacement at this time hoping to use the money realized from the sales to get my preferred ride. My preferred ride prices were shockingly high such that even if I doubled the price I gave to my neighbour it will still not be enough to buy the new ride. Prices rise by the hour these days in Nigeria and I have no hand in this crisis. I returned to my neighbour to inform him that I will not be selling the car anymore due to the present crises in prices of goods in the country. I apologized profusely for every inconvenience and transferred his money back to him. He got angry and said that I must submit the car key and documents to him. He even threatened to send his community and area boys to beat me up and extract the above items.

I came back from work to see my car jacked up, surrounded by 2 other vehicles to prevent the car's exit. For the records, there is no written or signed agreement between him and I concerning this sale. I refunded all his money 1 day after he paid his last installment and kept back my car. I have no hand in Nigeria's current problems. I am pushed to use force here but I am thinking that some initial peaceful resolution could be an option.

1. Looking at the time value of the money he paid, then there might be the problem.

2. Written/signed contract in my opinion wont cut it. As long as there was a verbal agreement which is further cemented with the car & money, then there was a contract.

3. He wouldnt be wrong to keep the car, afteral, you also confirmed that he finished paying.

4. You have buyers remorse as a result of the dwindling economy (which is of course no fault of yours) but you could have also forcasted this before buying the car in the first place.
Business / Re: Why Are Bank Accounts Called 'aza' In Nigeria? by Abduletudaye(m): 8:26am On Feb 15
Indispensable85:

It originated from Benin. Aza is a Benin term for account or a reservoir of money.

I agree with this.

There's nothing wrong with EOD its a solid car. The shaft doesn't just break overnight or suddenly, it must have been giving that breaking sound for a while before it finally gives way so maintenance culture is the key.

Really skeptic. I don't know.

Answer is NO, you will probably get a Nigerian used one which mostly would have been abused, however if you had not bought or used a direct tokumbo b4, you might not know the difference.

Ok, noted.

Even 2m will get u a very well maintained Naija used car in good working condition. Just stick to Honda and Toyota.
2.5m will get u a nice honda EOD, Camry Big daddy, a honda Civic, or maybe Honda Evil spirit

Thank you for this. I am honestly avoiding EOD for (I'm sure you know why) obvious reasons.

I think with the increase in pump price of fuel, and considering the fact that you have to ask if 2.5m naira can get a decent car, you shouls suspend that idea of buying a car for now. Fueling and maintaining that car might gulp 2.5m naira before the years runs out. My two cent though.

Two cents noted. Thank you

AutoConsult:

Don't answer that young man. You'll get a good accord for that price. Honda Civic saves more fuel but has a recurrent overheating problem. Accord will give you better drivability and durability. You can send me a personal message for further enquiries.

Thank you, I appreciate.

It will NEVER EVER be well with the APC and everyone that has anything to do with them for bringing Nigeria down to this sorry state.
My first car was a tokunbo Toyota Corolla SE 2006 model of which cost me N1.6m back in November of 2013.

Sadly, this is now our reality.
