We are ramping things up. Here are some things we have done recently:

1. We gave Nairaland's theme a little facelift, fixing buttons, pagination, separators, and other little things.

2. We implemented a dark mode for Nairaland with the most intuitive UX: a sun toggle on your upper right.

3. We further relaxed the minimum character rule because many people were still struggling with it.

We are also trying to make our moderation bot (aka antispam bot) more accurate. Bear with us on that.

What else do you want us to work on?

I remember reading that someone said what 8k naira could buy in 2003 or so, 100k naira can't buy it now

That a car was made decades ago doesn't make it any less valuable...Clean 2000s vehicles still cost much even in the abroad..

I recently sold a very clean 2003 Honda accord for 4m on this forum..despite a lot of negativity and "last last, u go chop dis moto" ...buyer never met or even spoke to me on phone. ..Bros just contacted me on Whatsapp, transferred 4m to my opay, and extra 200k that I should please help him upgrade the front bumper to the 2007 model, replace the side mirrors with the ones with signal lights, and paint both front/rear bumpers and side mirrors dull black...

I did all that and had the vehicle delivered to him somewhere down East...never heard from him again..

All this boils down to the fact that quality is expensive regardless of its age...Cheap things are cheap for a reason...

Good morning Everyone,

I own a 2004 Honda accord (Scrap EOD), as some of my fellow car owners will call it.

The engine runs fine but I struggle to start it only in the mornings.

Every other hour of the day, the car starts just once as it hits ignition.

Once the car is left in a state of inertia till the next morning, it struggles to start.

I kindly seek the advise of experienced engineers/mechanics on this issue so I can know how to repair or restore.

UPDATE
This has been fixed.

What was done is, the fuel filter was replaced and that was it.

the pump must be really bad. Check the fuel pressure to see if it’s low .

I guess..Will look into the fuel pump/filter first.

Eeyaa, frustrating right? Had similar issue with my Corolla,like in the mornings I will start it first,go take break fast, bathe and come back and it's still doing like it wants to choke to death,it will take like 10-15 mins or more before it will level up.. finally,the mechanic said it was the Cold starting sensor, after changing all the plugs, nozzles,even fuel pump join... So,there you have it, cold starting sensor

you did it well ? You must do it well. I didn’t say start the car, just turn the key once so the electricals come on. Then pump accelerator like 5 times. After that you can fully start the car

I didnt just start the car as that wasn't what you recommended.

I turned the key to the label "II" such that all lights on the dash came on, then I proceeded to pump accelerator five times.

Kindly confirm if this is in line. Thank you.

Gasoline level if it's not too low
Ground positioning
Check oil filter
Check your Kickstarter
Check your engine oil

1. Checked, no issues observed.
2. Gasoline level - low or full, it happens.
3. Not sure what this means.
4. Will check.
5. No issues with this.

Get an OBD 2 scan on your car to figure out the main fault. However this sounds like your crankshaft position sensor is faulty.

Ive attempted changing the throttle body, but to no avail. It didnt solve it.

This is the most likely cause. I. Surprised all the experts here did not mention this.

M suggestion is for you to get a OBD portable scanner like FIXD and run a diagnosis so it tells you what the problem is and what to do to fix it instead of the guess work.

I dont think this will bring up any codes.

Interesting take. I don't think this is the likely cause though you are correct, I dont drive this V6 monster everyday 😁

This looks like the throttle body in the pic.

I've attempted to change it, but that didn't solve the issue.

here is the solution if you don’t want to spend any money. You have to PRIME THE FUEL PUMP. This you do by turning on the ignition but don’t start the car. So you turn the key just once. If it’s push start just push the button without leg on break. Once you have done that then proceed to pump the accelerator like five times. Now the fuel has bypassed all the bottlenecks and now you can start the car I guarantee you it will fire once

Will this be a one time fix or going forward it will kick once?
