The interview wasn't a pass or fail thing. It was about impressing the panelists, however possible.

Remember they pruned down from 15 to 10 supposedly.

I dropped a clue on what to read before

- Disease triad
- probability
- basic statistics
- history, transmission, control, and prevention of common diseases of public health importance.

I see. Thanks for the response. Since the sales of the form is finished now I suppose I have to wait till next year. Again.

Then I wonder why anybody who passed the departmental test would fail that. I want to give it another shot myself but I just want to make sure I prepare well. What are you reading?

Hi Etinosajay, I'm really impressed by how you answer questions on this thread, you've done a very good job. I applied for Epid and med stats last year too but I could only make it to the departmental test. I realised you made it to the interview, how was it like?

I'm revisiting my undergraduate notes especially on courses like parasitology, medical microbiology(I read microbiology), medical virology and immunology. There's also a document I downloaded from CDC's website, Principles of Epidemiology in Public Health Practice, it is very insightful.

I am an applicant in the UI and I applied for epidemiology and medical statistics. Last year you gave me some advice
on the application process which really helped me through the application process. I really appreciate it. God bless you.
I scored 65 in the EPT, now I wish to prepare for the departmental test and the interview. I would like you to help once more Sir. If you could give me the topics I should probably concentrate on, I would really appreciate it.
I also want to keep in touch so that I could know the time of the test when they fix it.

i think you are elligible provided u v a grade which is not less than 2-2. U'll also v to prepare well for the departmental test cos u'll be competing wt so many drs who r used to the pattern of questns u'll be asked ryt from there undergrad days. I can assure dat u can beat dm all if u prepare well. Looking forward to seeing u @ d dept next session.

what made den eligible is dat they had a minimum of 2:2, they passed their eng proficiency test as well as d departmental test and interview. The tin is dat public health is versatile so students from a number of disciplines are admitted if they do well in their tests.

gbemtrol: Eligibility is a big word! But then there are people with Bsc. Microbiology in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics.

Thanks a lot @gbemtrol. Could you please shed some more light on what make those people with Bsc. Microbiology eligible. May be they have first class or they graduated from a particular school. I want to see if I can try my luck

drpialabi: yes. A bsc stat or maths can apply for msc biostat. Msc med stat(biostat) is also different from msc epi n med stat

Pls I also want to do my masters in Epidemiology and Medical statistics, I have a Bsc in Microbiology, Am I eligible?
