Buhari Should Have Performed Umrah in Zaria, not in Makkah! By: AbdulHussein Khadimul Qa'eem The holy Prophet Muhammad (May Allah's blessings be upon him and his holy progeny) made a very important declaration that I assume if President Muhammadu Buhari had heard it, he would not have left Nigeria to perform umrah in Makkah. Rather he would have performed umrah in Zaria! By no chance are we equating Makkah and Zaria, nor do we claim Zaria to be holy. But the President has failed the essence of Islam and the words of the Prophet (s) as the life of believers were desecrated. It is the actions or inaction of the President that has made it requisite for him to go on "pilgrimage" to Zaria before going on pilgrimage to Makkah! In "Targhib wa’ l-Tarhib" of Imam al-Mundhiri, 3/276, the following hadith is narrated from `Abd Allah ibn `Amr ibn al-`As that the holy Prophet Muhamnad (s) said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (saw) performing tawaf around the Holy Ka`ba saying to it: ‘how pure and good you are! how pure and good your fragrance is! how great and exalted you are! and how great and exalted your sanctity is! But by Him in Whose hand is Muhammad’s soul, the sanctity of a believer’s blood and property in the sight of Allah is greater than your sanctity!’“ It is of no avail or benefit for man to uphold the sanctity of the holy Ka'bah while the blood of Muslim believers is shed by those who take command from him. For Allah (may His name be exalted) to accept any act of ibadah from His servant, that servant must be just. Allah (swt) had said in Surat al-Israa that "he who kills an innocent soul it is as if he has killed the whole of humanity". Dear Mr. President, for your umrah and acts of ibadah to be accepted, you must perform "pilgrimage" to Zaria. By pilgrimage, we symbolically mean justice. What is holier and greater than the walls of the holy Ka'bah was destroyed in Zaria. The Ka'bah of the believer was destroyed in Zaria. It is of essence that justice prevails and the blood of the innocent get justice before you meet your Lord. A man at 73 years of age has few numbered years left to repent, that is if the repentance would even be accepted by the Almighty. Pilgrimage is at Zaria!

False Myths & Realities About The Islamic Movement of Nigeria ( IMN ): After the brutal #Zaria_Massacre by the Nigerian Army that killed 1000+ defenseless & unarmed Nigerian #Shia_Muslims, the Nigerian government have launch a campaign of calumny and dis - information to demonize the Islamic Movement of Nigeria ( IMN ) under the leadership of His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem #Zakzaky so as to justify the brutal slaughter of 1000+ Nigerians. They created false myths and with the instruments of the State tried to sustain those false myths by using any crook method available to poison the minds of Nigerians on the programs and activities of IMN. For the sake of discuss I will take those myths one after the other and subject them to logical analysis for the benefit of all Nigerians who seek Truth and only Truth. MYTH:The IMN is a violent organization and its members are violent people! REALITY:The question is what is #violence? Violence is defined by the World Health Organization as "the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation" The American Psychological Association simply define violence as "an extreme form of aggression, such as assault, rape or murder." We ask the Nigerian government this question:"How many Nigerians did the IMN killed since its more than 37 years of existence & how many Nigerian women did IMN members raped or assaulted within that period of time?" The obvious answer is that there are none cases of any killing by IMN but the same Nigerian government went on a drunken propaganda spree claiming through the Nigerian Army Chief Buratai that "IMN are more violent than #BokoHaram". BokoHaram insurgency has killed more than 30,000 innocent Nigerians, abducted 1000s of Nigerian women & girls, destroyed countless schools, bombed mosques & churches yet the Nigerian government want us to believe the false myth that "IMN is more violent than BokoHaram!" MYTH:IMN is "operating a state within a state" & that is a challenge to the Nigerian state! REALITY:True Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky have representatives in various towns, cities & villages of Nigeria and in other West African countries that oversee the programs & activities of IMN. If this is "operating a state within a state" then the Sultan of Sokoto is also "operating a state within a state" since all the Emirs of Northern Nigeria are his representatives. The Emir of Kano is also "operating a state within a state" since he has representatives in all the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano state. By extension all the Chiefs, Obas & Obis in Nigeria are "operating a state within a state". The Bishop of Rome also has representatives in major Nigerian towns & cities, is that also "operating a state within a state"? MYTH:IMN are armed & they will attack the Nigerian state! REALITY:This false myth that IMN is armed originated from the foreign intelligence agencies of USA, Israel and Saudi Arabia. They have been bombarding all the previous Nigerian governments that #Iran has supplied tonnes of weapons to IMN for the violent take-over of the Nigerian state! The Nigerian government via the Nigerian Army in its paid Advertorials after the brutal #Zaria_Massacre sold this line of thinking to Nigerians that the got "credible information" that IMN was stockpiling weapons in the Zaria Husseiniyya. The question that we ask the Nigerian government is that where are those weapons and arms? The Nigerian government destroyed the iconic Zaria #Husseiniyya and desecrated the grave yard of IMN looking for weapons and arms but found nothing. If they had found anything, they would have paraded them considering their desperation to justify the genocide on IMN. Though when they presented the imprisoned members of IMN in court they claimed they caught them with weapons but Nigerians knows this is a clear case of framing members of IMN. And the concept of the call of IMN does not entails violent take over of territories or violent conversation. These are concepts notoriously known to the murderous Wahhabi-inspired groups such as #ISIS, #AlQaeda, #BokoHaram etc that kill the innocent in the name of #Islam. The concept of IMN is based on logical reasoning and peaceful propagation. MYTH:IMN is funded by Iran petro-dollars & people are paid to become Shia Muslims! REALITY:The Saudi regime and their Wahhabi hirelings in Nigeria are the ones propagating this myth and the Nigerian government is actively abating them using proxies. The answer to this false myth is simple, we challenge the Nigerian government to provide proofs and back- up documents including Bank details to defend this allegation. The fact that they can not provide any means that they do not have any evidence but they promote this myth to questioned the Nigerian - ness of IMN. And if Nigerians are paid to become Shia Muslims as alleged, then why can't the much richer Saudis pay Nigerians to become Wahhabis? Only the most foolish of the fool will think that faith can be bought just like a commodity. How much will they pay you to face rain of bullets and bombs like what happened in the Zaria massacre? MYTH:IMN block roads during its programs! REALITY:After the brutal Zaria massacre, the supporters of that inhuman genocide created this myth to tarnish the image of IMN. True most of IMN National programs attracts millions of members from all parts of Nigeria and even beyond but those programs are not daily or weekly or monthly, they are programs that are less than five (5) programs yearly. Most of the other programs are conducted in local zones and levels. And it is a fact known to all Nigerians that all religious groups in Nigeria whether Muslims or Christians have the problem of traffic in their national programs. Even Nigerian politicians block roads during their campaigns. The Emir of Kano and other Emirs of Northern Nigeria Block roads during their Dubar activities. The question is why is the Nigerian government trying to portray that it is only the IMN that is guilty of this? And in all its programs and activities, the Aid Volunteers of IMN always make sure that traffic do not stop and the inconvenience cause are minimized as much as possible. Finally, truth is clear from falsehood and no matter how impressive falsehood is dressed it will never become truth. It will always remain falsehood and the world is yet to discover the Almighty Formula that convert falsehood to truth. Maybe the Buharis, Buratais & Elrufais of this world are working hard to discover that Almighty Formula but history has taught us that they will never succeed. God Bless All Those Who Seek Truth! #FreeZakzaky #GodProtectZakzaky Harun Elbinawi elbinawi@yahoo.com Elbinawi. |
WE CONDEMNED THE ILLEGAL DETENTION OF STUDENTS! First semester is about to finish in most universities in this country but hundreds of students are still in detention at various detention facilities. The future of any society rest on it's vibrant, peaceful and freedom-fighters youths, but I guess it is not same in my dear country Nigeria; where the president failed to obtain even a good secondary school result, the top military personnel who are ought to be brilliant and exceptional for they are to deal with defensive matters are mostly recruited with other people's intelligence (as they mostly use other peoples results). But they are still in detention with exceptionally intelligent, inventors, problem solvers, freedom fighters and trustworthy youths on no reason whatsoever. They ruined their past and are still ruining their present by trying to ruin the future of those who have well planned future and great strugglers of the change for the better Nigeria, Africa and the world in general. Among them are Medical students, Engineering students, Computer technicians, Potential nurses, future barristers and in fact any aspect you can think of. This is a war against humanity; beside killing and burning to ashes thousands of these potentialities who are struggling for better Nigeria in particular, great Africa and Peaceful planet in general. They know it, that these detainees are the hope of Nigeria but they turn deep ears concerning their situation just as the president Buhari Adamu addressed some youths during the 25th convocation of FUT Minna, Niger State, that "I have hope in the youth because I see inventors; problem solvers and leaders that will one day make Nigeria greater than my government will make it." We call on the Nigerian government to free these freedom fighters in order to attend their end of semester examination. It should be recalled that on December 12th, 13th and 14th the Nigerian military led by their Chief of staff General Tukur Y Burutai launched a pitiless brutal massacre on the peaceful members of the Islamic Movement who were falsely accused of convoy blockage and attempt to assassinate the COAS. 1000+ were killed, 700+ were missing, considerate number of the IMN members were injured and several others are still in detention. #No to illegal detention of students #Free Sheikh Zakzaky (H) #May God protect Sheikh Zakzaky (H) Najeeb Umar Maigatari Najeebumar86@gmail.com Sunday, February 28th, 2016 |
XXXIV. Nigerian public received the news of the massacre with expected shock and disbelief. The National Assembly and the religious bodies both Christian and Muslim called for judicial inquiry. XXXV. Yet the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who had condemned recently the killing of three people in France by terrorists tried to justify falsely and unconvincingly the massacre of hundreds of his citizens by his army as “military affairs” and later on that, the military was fighting a “state within a state.” He was thus jeopardizing the outcome of the judicial inquiry. XXXVI. No educated person can describe the Islamic movement in Nigeria as a state within a state. The crux of the matter is that they have nothing in their organization that other religious organizations do not have. They have nothing of the state apparatus or coercive forces and do not even have a single gun as their killers, the Nigerian Army, divulged. In the encounter, not a single Nigerian soldier lost his life or incurred any injuries. Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria are disciplined Nigerians who earned their living honestly and pay taxes like other good Nigerians. PATRONIZATION OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS XXXVII. A serious action and omission in the Nigerian state is the patronization of religious leaders in governance. Historians of the Sokoto Caliphate know that the President of the federal Republic of Nigeria was reading a historical praise that perhaps one learned, but mischievous religious fanatic he patronizes handed over to him. “The state within a state” was one of the accusations against Sheik ‘Uthman Dan Fodio by the Hausa rulers of Gobir two hundred years ago. XXXVIII. Muslims are always the culprits in misleading Nigerian leaders. Muslim clerics are greedy people and greed begets dishonesty. The success of the Islamic movement in Nigeria among the populace that Sheik Ibrahim who keeps a distance from government, can call people to come to him on foot from distances is a testimony of the trust people have in him and the paucity of the popular appeal of the Izala clerics around the government. Second to az-Zakzaki, only the darika clerics can boast of popular support. The Muslim cleric siphon money from state for building mosques and bankrupt prayers. No one can deceive God; they can deceive only themselves. XXXIX. “It is a military affair” is the most dangerous statement that an elected President can make anywhere in the world. In a democracy, the military must come under civil control. Recently, a highly respected USA general made a public statement on Afghanistan disagreeing with the civil authority. The civil authority politely invited him to the Whitehouse where he tendered his resignation. One must ponder over the atrocities that the Nigerian Military committed on the Nigerian people and on themselves from the assassination of the Sardauna in January 1966 in Kaduna to the Massacre of Muslims in Zaria December 2015. The recent discoveries of the extent of corruption within the Nigerian military are staggering and can tantamount to national treason. g, THE EVOLUTION OF ISLAMIC MOVEMENT OF NIGERIA XL. I have closely followed the activities of the Islamic movement in Nigeria and I was surprised and in fact amazed by their efficiency, discipline and dedication. They are extremely polite and helpful. The Islamic movement in Nigeria gives millions of Nigerian citizens the reasons to live. The Islamic Movement in Nigeria is an island of purity in the Nigerian sea of corruption. This is the reason the corrupt Nigerian Establishment hates them. Unlike Izala religious leaders, they refuse to be part of the saga of corruption. XLI. Popular Shiah was unknown in Nigeria before the Iranian Islamic Revolution thirty-seven years ago. Shiah as a form of higher Islam has always thrived within the echelon of higher class of religious leaders of this society since the pre-colonial days. XLII. However, there are fertile grounds for the growth of Shiah beliefs in Nigeria. Increase in the levels of education and awareness is one factor; Shiah faith is education and intellect based. Secondly, the love of the Prophet extent in traditional Islam in parts of this country is a great facilitator of Shiah beliefs. Thirdly, the awful increase in the level of corruption in all strata of public life, especially in government and the Military is another serious factor. The sterility of Muslim religious life is the fourth factor. There is evident collapse of mainstream Islam; the representative of that Islam hates the Shiah vehemently. The fifth factor is the collapse of credible opposition under the present presidential political system. It makes people to look for alternative political outlook. The demise of ideology and ideologically based political parties, such as the NEPU and PRP, creates serious political vacuum, which the Shiah can well fit in is perhaps the final factor. h) Involvement of foreign and domestic factors XLIII. h) One may not rule out the possibility of the involvement of foreign and domestic factors in this crisis. The world has become a global bedroom from where you can see and hear what is in the whole world and even communicate with the rest of world from the comfort of your bedroom. XLIV. There is now an on-going conflict between Islam and the Western world. Iran under the Shiah philosophy of Morality and faith associated with CONVICTION, STRUGGLE, DEFIANCE and RESILIENCE championed the interests of Islam very courageously and successfully too. All these qualities became clear in the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the super powers. Iran is a darling of all conscious Muslims around the world, including Nigeria. XLV. The Shi ‘ah in Nigeria whom I know through my academic activates are peaceful, tolerant and self-reliant. They abhor violence, but they may frown at the common corruption on the road. Their leaders are free from corruption and shun away from government, the Mother of Corruption. XLVI Universal faiths have foreign source of inspiration. The Shiah look up to Iran, an independent sovereign state. The Nigerian Catholics look up to Vatican, an independent sovereign state under the Pope. There was a time when the Pope was vehemently supporting the Catholic Biafra. The Queen of England is the defender of Anglican faith worldwide. XLVII. The imperial powers, United States, Canada, and Italy among others supported Christian missionaries activates under colonial Nigeria. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait gave the Sardauna of Sokoto money to establish Jama‘atu Nasril Islam, which transformed into Izala. The Izala religious movement looks up to Saudi Arabia for doctrinal and other supports. XLVIII. Iran grew big within the Muslim bloc and appeared to constitute a threat to the Sunni anti-Shiah Wahhabi feudal Saudi Arabian State, which has NOT been able to give leadership to Muslims at crucial times and which appeared more concern about dynastic interests. Wahhabism is a parochial extremist Sunni philosophy, which considers any Muslims who do not subscribe to their outlook as kafir. This philosophy, which enjoys the patronage of the government of Saudi Arabia, has produced these extremist terrorist organizations:- XLIX. Al- Qa’ida is SUNNI. The Saudis created and supported this group to fight communism in Afghanistan. The ideology of this group is Saudi Wahhabism and its leadership, Bin Ladan, was Saudi. L. ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant) ad dawlat al-islamiyyah fil Iraq wa-sh-sham is SUNNI. This group uses Saudi Arabian Wahhabi ideology to stop Shia ascendency in Iraq and Syria. LI. Izala (izaltul bid'a Wa Iqamat as sunnah) is SUNNI whose leaders received the Dasuki Funds. The Sardauna of Sokoto and his Malam, Sheikh Mahmud Abubakar Gummi introduced Izala with Saudi money and indoctrination, which the Saudis still sponsor. The primary purpose of Izala was to counter the Darika political influence, which was working against the political interest of the Sardauna, especially in Kano, the seat of opposition against the Sardauna government. LII. Book Haram (jamat ahl as-sunnah li da‘wa wal jihad) is SUNNI. This is certainly the military wing of the Izala movement. Bad and erratic government policy pushed them underground and they became a scourge to the country. LIII. Ash-Shabab is SUNNI. Saudi Arabia set this group to counter the spread of communism in its southern plank. The Saudis have the same policy in the Yemen against communism and then against Shiah. LIV. Nigeria must be aware that there is an ongoing war between resurgent democratic Iran and irredentist feudal Saudi Arabia, which they may wage by proxy in Nigeria. Nigeria should not involve itself. Then again, is it too late? There are strong indications that the Izala has naturally infiltrated the Northern establishment and the Sardauna influenced elites. The speeches of the Governor of Kaduna State that he was not Shiah long before the Zaria Massacre are frightening. The declaration of the President that the Islamic Movement in Nigeria was a state within state was false. It tells the world the type of people around the President and talking to him. RECOMMENDATIONS LV. (1) I recommend strongly that nothing in the decision of JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY shall infringe upon in whatever manner or way the provisions of chapter IV on the fundamental rights in the1999 Constitution namely:- Chapter IV – Fundamental Rights (1999 Constitution Chapter IV section 33 to 43) 33. Right to Life 34. Right to dignity of human person 35. Right to personal liberty 36. Right to fair hearing 37. Right to private and family life 38. Right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion 39. Right to freedom of expression and the press 40. Right to peaceful assembly and association 41. Right to freedom of movement 42. Right to freedom from discrimination 43. Right to acquire and own private property anywhere in Nigeria LVI. (2) Any act by the Nigerian Army that violates any of these provisions deserves immediate REDRESS by the relevant Authorities. The families of those killed shall receive DIYYYAH payment for each life lost according to law LVII. Those injured shall receive treatment and DIYYYAH payment for each limb lost according to law LVIII. Each property destroyed shall be restored to its previous condition according to law LIX. Any loss incurred in this massacre authorities shall compensate it adequately according to law LX. (3) Government must show remorse, the nation must moan. How many a woman has become widow; the pain is incalculable, the loss is irredeemable! How many a child has become an orphan; the implications are unimaginable! How many a mother has lost a child; the agony is inconceivable! How many a father has a lost child; many dreams were shattered! How many a family has suffered an agony; how much hopes are unfulfilled! LXI. Government must prosecute all culprits according to the crime they have commitment. No Nigerian should or even appear to be above the law. LXII. (4) We have too much of too many soldiers among civilians and too many a time. They have lost their dignity and awe; they should keep out of public site and stay in the barracks to restore some of their lost dignity. The military must come under civil authority, under the Constitution and the Rule of Law. LXIII. Islam and the Military are the greatest danger to National survival. The Massacre of Shiites in Zaria and the subsequent speeches of the President and the Governor of Kaduna State and the fanatical polemics of Dr Datti Ahmad of the Shari’ah movement make one uncomfortable. The declaration of the Emir of Kano that Nigeria is Ahl as Sunnah wal jama’a state, the recent activities of Saudi Arabia in the Northern states, which caused alarm in the senate and the visit of ISIL officials just before the Massacre of Shiites make one very uneasy. These developments create ground for serious suspicion. They deserve some investigations. LXIX. We are not ready to become an Islamic state let alone an ISIL state. After the elimination of the minority Shiites, who will be the next in the line of elimination? Probably, the Catholics, the Ahmadis after the maguzawa. Only God knows the end. LXX. Nigeria must remain multi-religious, democratic and secular. The President has sworn to defend the Constitution and all the components of the state including our God-given FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE. Thank you. Yours faithfully, Dahiru Yahya, BA Hons, PhD, FHSN Professor of Diplomatic History and formerly Consultant on National Security |
Professor Dahiru Yahya, BA Hons. ABU, PhD Birmingham, FICEN, FHSN Department of History, Bayero University, P.M.B. 3011, Kano. E-mail: yahyadahiru@gmail.com Tel. 08063643526, 08056630547 22 February 2016 The Secretary, Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba Judicial Commission of Inquiry, Kaduna State, Kaduna Dear Sir, JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY I would not have bothered to write on this unprecedented calamity in the history of the Nigerian nation. I would have left the Almighty God to judge and accord justice and He will do so unfailingly. He will surely judge every one of us in THIS LIFE and AFTER. This is the worst affliction this country has so far suffered: armed Nigerian soldiers killing hundreds of unarmed fellow civilians outside combat area in a show of great brutality. II JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY is certainly the most important commission of inquiry ever established in this country. Its unwritten duty it is primarily and objectively to determine the question of whether the citizen of Nigeria has the guarantee to the Security to life, Security to basic human rights and Security to own property etc that are enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution and that no one can interfere with these rights without the due process of the law. III. I am writing to JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY for two reasons. Firstly, I am a stakeholder in this NIGERIAN VENTURE. Like millions of other Nigerians, I have CHILDREN (23) all of them from my loin some of whom are medical doctors, lecturers in the universities and polytechnics, lawyers, architects and journalists. Some of my children are school going at different levels of education. I have also GRAND CHILDREN (30). I have great concern for the future of my offspring. IV. Secondly, I have a duty as a scholar to avail JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY with the benefit of my learning, which has direct bearing on the work of the JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. I teach and do research on the Islamic movements in the university system for the last 46 (forty-six) years. I am a professor of the History of ideas and Intellectual History and diplomacy for 30 (thirty) years. My profession has taken me to many areas of religious and political conflicts and revolutions in the world including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Bosnia and South Africa. I was a consultant on National security to Babangida Regime. V. Important warning: With my level of education and experience, I do not belong to any religious sect as such and I am not a partisan. I see religions and religious movements from purely academic and intellectual perspectives. There is an element truth in all religions and sects, big or small. There are spiritual journeys in all faiths, long or short. SERIOUS DANGER ZONE VIOLATION OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLES VI. The various communities and nations that freely constitute this country AGREE to live together under a constitution built on democratic principles. They expect the state, ALL its agencies, and coercive forces in particular, and the society in general individually, severally and collectively to uphold with the greatest care and sincerity the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and the democratic principles it contains therein. VII. No state can survive without the guarantee of three basic rights: the right to life as sanctity, the right to human dignity and the right to own private property. No state can deprive its citizens of these rights without the due process of the law. VIII. All conventional and universal religions, including Christianity and Islam agree on the sanctity of life. To kill one man without the due process of the law is like to the entire humanity. Similarly, all religions confer great priority on human dignity and private property. IX. Shehu Usman Dan Fodio made a declaration in 1806 on the guarantee of three basic rights: the right to life as sanctity, the right to human dignity and the right to own private property and made them the basis of his jihad and the creation of Sokoto Caliphate, the harbinger of the Nigerian State. X. The United Nation Organization made a declaration in its Charter in 1945 for the guarantee of these three basic rights: the right to life as sanctity, the right to human dignity and the right to own private property XI. The Nigerian constitution devoted the whole Chapter IV to Human and other citizens’ rights including freedom of conscience that the right to choose your religion (the Koran guarantee that in more than one place), freedom of association, freedom of movement and the right of fair hearing. RELIGIOUS VIOLENCEIN NIGERIA IS FOREIGN IMPORT XII. Nigerian is steadily becoming g a nation of bloodshed because the state denies these rights thoughtlessly at crucial junctures. There is a lot of fanaticism, bigotry and thoughtless selfishness in this country. For those who know the history of this country these are foreign imports. The Islam we know in this country lived peacefully and respectfully with maguzawa non-Muslims even at the gate of Sokoto, the Capital of the Caliphate, and throughout the core Muslim majority emirates of the Caliphate. These non-Muslims enjoy equal rights with Muslims. See detail below. KADUNA STATE GOVERNOR’S INAUGURAL SPEECH XIII. Substantial sections of the Kaduna State Governor’s inaugural speech to JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY are tendentious; they have no bases in law or in wisdom. It is important to ignore them. JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY must not allow politics to smear its all-important works. The Kaduna State Governor was not addressing JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY altogether; as a politician, he was addressing his constituency as well. XIV. The Governor will go away and forgotten forever. The name of the Chairman and members of the JUSTICE MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY will remain forever and will determine the nature of the doctrine of social contract between the Government and the people in this country. The Terms of Inquiry XV.a) Immediate cause: Nigerian Army Chief strayed into civilian religious concourse full of youthful, exuberant, tensed up crowd under corrupt Nigerian atmosphere. In universities, we dread the meeting of youth and police. We keep away police from campus during student strikes. That was when there was still some sanity in governance in this country. The hatred between Nigerian civil society and the all-corrupt ridden uniformed government agents is intense. They need to remove their bad eggs. XVI. The army chief should have used his scout to ensure the route was clear. He did not. That was a clear case of extreme form of professional misconduct and irresponsible negligence leading to PREMEDITATED massacre. XVII. Islam prohibits the blocking of roads unfortunately ALL Muslims do it every Friday. Shiah and the Qadiriyyah do it once a year and responsibly too. I met them every time I travelled; they leave one side of the road clear. XVIII. Christians also block roads on Sundays. Merry makers in wedding parties etc ARE the worst road blockers. XIX. There is nowhere in Islam or in the Nigerian law where an authority instituted, promulgated, or enacted law that blocking of road is PUNISHABLE BY DEATH IN ANY MANNER. b) HISTORICAL CIRCUMSTANCES XX. b) Historical circumstances and remotes cause of the crises lie in Islam itself and the development of the religion over time and space. XXI. There are two major POLITICAL divisions in Islam: the majority SUNNI and the minority SHIAH. This division is necessarily political because Muslims of whatever hue claim they share common worship, common God, common Book, common Prophet. The SUNNI are always associated with POLITICAL POWER and SHIAH demonstrate a SPIRITUALLY AND MORALLY A HIGHER FORM of Islam. There is always CONFLICT between political power and morality hence the Sunni/Shi‘ah conflicts XXII. The division between the Sunni and Shi‘ah Muslims began more prominently after the death of the Fourth Caliph, ‘Ali b. Abi Talib, ‘Ali, the First Imam of the Shi ‘ah. The cause of disagreement is succession to the leadership vacuum the death of the Prophet had created. The Shi ‘ah are those who believe the Family of the Prophet should succeed him. The Sunni are those who insist that succession should follow the Sunnah (tradition) of the Arabs by seniority and clannish ascendency, the Quraish Arab Clan. XXIII. The bulk of the Arabs installed Abu-Bakr as the first successor (caliph) of the Prophet by virtue of his seniority and closeness to the Prophet and the ascendency of his clan, the Quraish. He was a very close and faithful friend of the Prophet and once deputized for him in leading prayers and escorted him in his flight from Mecca and Medina. He had a gentle personality and an iron mind. He had the advantage of age, which the Arabs respected. His daughter was the favourite wife of the Prophet, the brilliant Aisha whom the Koran designated along with other wives of the Prophet as the Mothers of Faithful. ‘Umar, another father in law of the Prophet, succeeded Abu-Bakr as the second Caliph. ‘Uthman, a son in law of the Prophet, became the third successor of the Prophet. Finally, the formally youthful ‘Ali, the cousin of the Prophet, the father of his two celebrated grandsons, Hasan and Husain whose mother was Fatima the celebrated daughter of the Prophet, became the fourth and the last of the Four Rightly-Guided (al-khulafa’ al-rashidun). They called them so for the following reasons among others. XXIV. Abu-Bakr, the First Caliph, united the Islamic state and saved it from disintegration after the death of the Prophet. After the death of Abubakar, Umar, the Second Caliph, expanded the boundaries of the Islamic State from the borders of China in Asia to the borders of France in Europe including the whole of the Middle East, Caucasus and North Africa. ‘Uthman succeeded ‘Umar as the Third Caliph. He collated, codified and standardized the Koran, the bedrock of Islam that all Muslims recognize today. ‘Ali succeeded ‘Uthman. He became the Fourth Caliph. He united the Shia and Sunnah. He was the First Imam of the Shia. He laid down the ethical, moral and intellectual foundations of Islam. XXV. After the death of ‘Ali, the era of the four Righteous Caliphs came to an end. The Arab clan of Banu Umayyah , the enemies of the Prophet to the last moment, seized power and transformed the Muslim State from egalitarian religious polity into a secular kingdom based on hereditary succession. It was necessarily a brutal state. They killed the family of the Prophet except those God saved. Prominent among those that the Umayyads killed was a grandson of the Prophet, Husain, and son of Caliph ‘Ali. He was the Third Shia Imam. Informed opinions consider him, including in the United Nations, as a Universal Moral Figure. The Nigerian Army vandalized his shrine in Zaria, a serious sacrilege under the Muslim beliefs. XXVI. The conflict between the Muslims in authority exercising Political power, associated with COERCION, CORRUPTION, VIOLENCE, and BLOODSHED and UNTRUTH and the Shiah who abhor these corruptions and stayed away from the state and its corrupt practices. This was the main cause of this conflict. XXVII. The Shiah leaders unlike Sunni counterparts do not go to government looking for material patronage. The Shia adherents in Nigeria who count in millions among the intellectual elites in the institutions of higher learning and civil and public services, young business communities and lower class of taxi drivers and teachers are polite and hardworking Nigerians who support themselves through self-exertion. XXVIII. The Shiah contrast sharply with Sunni believers in Nigeria. It is shocking to discover that 80% of corrupt individuals under the last regime were Sunni Muslims, including the descendants of the Jihad leaders. Generally, the Izala Sunni youth are impolite and untruthful. World was shocked to see Sunni elements pick pocketing the corpses of the Shi‘ah that a faction of the corruption-ridden Nigerian Military killed in Zaria. e, f, ACTIONS AND OMISSIONS XXIX. The Zaria massacre has demonstrated the inability of Nigerian state to govern itself. The meeting of the Nigerian military and the military attachés of foreign missions in Nigeria has confirmed the view of foreign media on the incompetence of the Nigerian state. Military attachés from three countries spoke strategically one from Asia, the second from Europe and the third from the United States of America.. Bleep. The Iranian military attaché discussed the lack of professionalism of the Nigerian military and its incompetence. He wondered how the Nigerian army chief could travel to any location without reports from his scouts on the security of the area at least a week before his journey. He wondered how the Nigerian Military could kill over one thousand unarmed civilians while they had failed to kill even two hundred Boko Haram insurgents. He wondered how a national military could commit a sacrilege as to bomb a place of worship. XXXI. The French military attaché said the Europeans came to Africa to civilize the Africans yet the Africans have remained barbaric and brutal. How could the government of France explain this brutal action to the French public? XXXII. The military attaché of the United States of America said loudly only one word to describe the incident: MASSACRE. XXXIII. International community called for a judicial commission of inquiry No less than 45 countries condemned directly or by public outcry. Continued in comment |
Thousands in FREE ZAKZAKY Protest in Northern Nigeria Today Sunday 21/02/16 a peaceful FREE ZAKZAKY protest was held in major cities across Northern Nigeria. Reports reaching us from Potiskum, the commercial city of Yobe state, Nigeria said the protesters were on major streets of the town demanding the release of Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, who is being detained by the federal government since December 2015. In Kano, another commercial centre of the region, the protesters went round the major streets of the city chanting the slogan FREE ZAKZAKY in English and Hausa languages. A similar protest which was held in the morning in Gombe, the capital of Gombe state ended peacefully. Thousands of protesters went round Sokoto town highlighting the merciless killings the Nigerian army did when it attacked the Islamic Movement in Zaria. In Kaduna the protest was held along Nnamdi Azikiwe western bypass, and was attended by muslim brothers and sisters in their thousands. A similar protest was staged in Zaria where the army killed over a thousand defenceless people and it was attended by many brothers and sisters of the Islamic Movement chanting the slogan "We demand justice now". The story is the same in Bauchi, where thousands thronged the major streets of the town calling for freedom of those detained because of the army's onslaught against the Islamic Movement. In Lafia, the capital of Nassarawa state, thousands also participated in the peaceful protest calling for the release of Sheikh Zakzaky and other hundreds now languishing in detention centres. In Yola the capital of Adamawa state a contingent of the army arrived at the scene of the protest, but the protesters were focussed on their peaceful procession, thereby aborting any willful attack by the soldiers. Daura, the hometown of President Buhari was not immune to the protest, thousands marched through the streets calling on their son to release Sheikh Zakzaky. HERE COMES THE LIAR AGAIN. It is no longer shameful for those in authority to lie in Nigeria ever since the Zaria massacre. One wonders why? You are in authority, you have all the power, capital and sycophant mercenaries yet you have to lie. On Tuesday a delegation from United states institute of piece meet president Buhari in his office at the presidential villa. Hear what he said to them ' we attache great importance to human rights. If there are breaches, they will be investigated and dealt with.' I don't know what human rights Mr.Presient was alking about. What happened in Zaria is a total violation of human rights that can never be over looked even in animal kingdom. Why not just stop such utterances to be human at least for God sake. SECOND PRESS STATEMENT Our Solicitors denied access to Sheikh Zakzaky recently Following the invitation for memorandum to be submitted to the Judicial Commission of Inquiry established by the Kaduna state government as contained in a letter received by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria on the 2nd of February 2016, it is pertinent to note that all efforts towards meeting to the request might be jeopardized by the refusal to allow access to the revered leader of the Movement, his Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky. On February 8, 2016 Solicitors of the Islamic Movement wrote a letter to the Inspector General of Police requesting to meet the leader of the Islamic Movement Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub Zakzaky, however up to this moment they were not given access to him. In his position as the sole custodian of the Movement, the need to meet Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky for guidance on the right steps to take in the current situation cannot be overemphasized. Unfortunately, all efforts to meet with Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky as demanded by the Movement have been refused by the authorities who are illegally abducting him and refusing him any visitation. In view of this, the Islamic Movement in Nigeria is insisting that it must get the express permission and authorization of its leader Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky before it will take a decision on whether to submit a memorandum to the Judicial Commission of Inquiry. This is in view of the fact that Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky is the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. He is also the spokesperson of the Movement as well as the custodian of its properties Considering the magnitude of the events that took place in Zaria between the 12th and 14th day of December 2015 and the subsequent events in Kaduna State, the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria are of the firm view that their team of lawyers must see their leader and get instructions and proper briefings from him before the period for the submission of Memorandum elapses. It would be recalled that on the 12th to 14th of December 2015 the Nigerian Army launched a coordinated attack on the Islamic Movement in Zaria that led to the incessant loss of lives of unarmed members of the Movement, where some were burnt to death by the army including women and children, which also led to the mass burial of the slayed members and the subsequent abduction of the revered leader of the Movement. This was followed by calls for independent investigation into the incident which led to the establishment of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry by the Kaduna state government that will submit its report six weeks from the start of public hearing based on some points of reference. The Movement had since expressed lack of confidence on the composition of the Commission which is made up of enemies of the Islamic Movement and staunch anti-IMN sectarians and also the absence of any human rights representation. FIRST PRESS STATEMENT The Chief Magistrate 1, Ibrahim Taiwo Road Kaduna must be investigated We deem it necessary and expedient to once again address the issue of our members that are presently detained in the Kaduna convict Prison and awaiting trial. We decided to address the issue a second time based on the illegalities that have attended their detention and the unconstitutional and procedural breaches that have attended the cognizance by the Chief Magistrate 1, Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Awaal Umar. 1. On the 17th day of December 2015 the Nigerian Police Force prepared a First Information Report In relation to some of our members in their custody. The first of the First Information Report KMD/188X/15 had a total of 34 suspects. The second of the First Information Report KMD/189X/15 had a total of 79 suspects. The third of the First Information Report KMD/190X/15 had a total of 90 suspects. The Fourth of the First Information Report KMD/191X/15 had a total of 10 suspects mostly those arrested in Kaduna on the 16th day of December 2015. The fifth First Information Report KMD/204X/15 had a total of 49 suspects. 2. The Nigerian Police Force did not take any of these suspects to the Chief Magistrate Court for cognizance/prosecution and the Chief Magistrate 1, Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Awaal Umar did not demand to see any of suspects before he signed their remand warrant and they were taken to prison directly from the various police formations where they were detained. The Chief Magistrate knew what he did was illegal and unconstitutional 3. It was on the basis of this procedural irregularity and illegality that prompted the same Chief Magistrate to sit inside the premises of the Kaduna Convict prison to regularize what is patently an illegal arraignment and detention of the suspects and this he thought he has done on the 10thday of February 2016. 4. That based on the irregular arraignment, the Chief Magistrate could not explain how four of our members found themselves inside the Kaduna Convict prison when their names were not in all the First information Reports. These are Nasiru Umar, Auwal Abubakar, Ibrahim Abdulhamid and Zaharadden Abdulaziz. Rather than arrest this illegality, the Chief Magistrate ordered the Police to capture and add their names to any of the First Information Reports. 5. We are also at a loss why the Chief Magistrate will adjourn a simple bail application argued before him to the 29th of March 2016 on the basis of an illegal directive he claimed he received from the Judicial Commission of inquiry not to release any of the suspects on bail pending the conclusion of their sitting. Our Position and Demands 1. The Chief Judge of Kaduna State must investigate the deliberate procedural irregularity perpetrated by the Chief Magistrate 1 Ibrahim Taiwo Road Kaduna in taking cognizance of the offences and suspects he signed their detention warrant in December three months after he signed the said warrant committing them to prison custody. 2. The Controller General of Prison must investigate how and when and in what circumstances four suspects arrested by the Police found themselves into the Kaduna Convict Prison when they were never arraigned before any Court of Law and there was no warrant for their remand. 3. We believe that it is illegal, unconscionable and unconstitutional for the Chief Magistrate Ibrahim Taiwo Road Kaduna to advice the Police to go and add the names of four of our members illegally thrown into the Prison into the existing FIR when their names were never there in the first place. We therefore demand the unconditional release of Nasiru Umar, Auwal Abubakar, Ibrahim Abdulhamid and Zaharadden Abdulaziz. 4. We demand that the Chief Judge of Kaduna State and the Kaduna Judicial Service Commission must investigate how and when the Chief Magistrate got a letter demanding that he should not deliver ruling on a bail application moved before him on the 14th day of January 2016 only to adjourn ruling on same to the 29th day of March 2016 on very flimsy and illegal excuses and directives. 5. We demand that our members must be given their due process rights. Our members are being remanded in prison custody without any charges being framed against them. It is unconstitutional and illegal to detain suspects while the police are going about fishing for evidence that is not there. 6. We demand that our members should be released unconditionally if the Police have no evidence that they have infringed on the law. 7. We insist that our members are the victims in the unfolding events and those that are supposed to face trial are the ones pretending to be victims. What we were taught by Sheikh Ibraheem #Zakzaky of #Nigeria: His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem #Zakzaky taught millions of #Nigerians like myself to speak against injustice, to live the life of honesty free of crime, to be obedient & kind to our parents, to be good to our neighbors, to assist & help the poor, the downtrodden, the barefooted & the homeless. Sheikh Zakzaky taught us that Nigerian Christians are not our enemies like how some Wahhabi clerics are portraying, he taught us that Nigerian Christians are our brothers and sisters in humanity as clearly stated by Imam Ali ( as ) in his famous Letter to General Malik alAshtar. He taught us that respecting all human is among the fundamental teachings of Islam. He taught us to feel the pains of anybody oppressed & wronged in whatever part of the world, no matter the religion & no matter the color of skin. Sheikh Zakzaky taught us about the evils of colonialism, neo - colonialism, imperialism & Zionism. He gave practical examples of how these evil tendencies invades nations, killed its people and plundered their resources. Sheikh Zakzaky taught us the importance of unity among Muslims, he forbid us to built our own separate Mosque and told us that all Mosques are the House of God. He told us that building our own separate Mosques will further deepen the division of Muslims. He said Muslims should be tolerant of each others views and should avoid sectarian extremism. He taught us to always invite Christians and other non-Muslims to all our programs and activities so as to build trust, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence. And he told us to also send delegates to their program whenever invited. He totally condemned terrorism in all its manifestations and he declared that Western intelligence agencies created, nurtured and controlled these murderous terrorist groups that are killing people in the name of #Islam. He taught us that terrorism has no place in Islam. Sheikh Zakzaky has consistently condemned the wanton corruption and looting of public treasury by the corrupt Nigerian elites especially the corrupt elites of Northern Nigeria that has impoverished Nigerians. He said all actions and activities of leaders will be accounted for by God on the Day of Judgement. He said the corrupt elites are one and the same and that they only uses fault lines of religion, tribe and region to divide the Nigerian oppressed masses. The above are some of what we were taught by Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky in Nigeria, Niger Republic, Cameron, Chad, Mali, Senegal etc. Our dear Nigerian compatriots, please is there anything above that warranted the Nigerian Army to brutally killed 1000+ of his followers in Zaria, attacked his residence and burnt people alive with him and his family in the house, killed his three (3) biological Sons and burnt all his properties that included his valuable and rich Library? #FreeZakzaky #GodProtectZakzaky Harun Elbinawi elbinawi@yahoo.com Elbinawi.

CONFIRMED ABUJA BLOCKAGE: TERROR CHIEF BURATAI THREATENS TO SUE NEWSRESCUE BY NEWSRESCUE FEBRUARY 16, 2016 Nigeria’s Chief of Army Lt. General Tukur Buratai has threatened to sue NewsRescue media for a damning publication exposing the deadly double-standards of the Army chief and former director of procurement. NewsRescue had revealed that Buratai’s elaborate convoy was blocked on Obafemi Awolowo way, Abuja at 9.15 am February 14th by the Mountain of Fire Church. Our exclusive story described how the army chief turned back and followed another route in contrast to his behavior in Zaria on December 12th where he massacred youth protesters blocking his way and went on on “honour killing” spree to kill everyone related to the minority Muslim community at three other sites. In the threat published in DailyPost, the chief of army claimed he was chilling at home in Abuja throughout the weekend. “For the avoidance of doubt, the Chief of Army Staff has not stepped out of military environment from Friday, 12th February till this morning, Monday 15th February 2016, let alone having such imaginary blockade.” Under General Buratai the army has become a lying organ and its publicity officers are coveted by the general for his own private defense and publicity. The murder of 105 soldiers remains denied by the army and their deaths undignified, in spite of undeniable evidence. NewsRescue stands by its story and has several witnesses to corroborate the story which was also leaked by official security sources. Our information is 100% correct. We can provide the army chief’s precise itinerary. Buratai should know that he is being watched by people he knows and things he does not know. We categorically state our eagerness to meet the army chief in court. Let him be aware that we are preparing a very strong case against him on behalf of Nigerians for his abdication of his duty post and consequent jeopardy to Nigerian lives. It is recollected that Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari directed the chief of army to relocate to Maiduguri in the interest of securing the nation. The army chief has however since abdicated his post and responsibilities for the pleasantries of Abuja and various unessential and secondary functions. The Nigerian people who have been dying in Maiduguri, Adamawa and environs are eager for representation against General Buratai in court. Maiduguri has come under attack twice in recent months, an occurrence that did not happen through the end of the Jonathan administration. Additionally in the case of the massacre of over 1000 Nigerian citizens in Zaria, with grenades and bombs; the burning alive of Nigerian youth and the raping of our women and demolition of the properties of these citizens and subsequent exhuming of their graves, NewsRescue and the people of Nigeria are preparing our legal cases against the army chief who we promise will have a very long day in court. It is unbecoming that Nigeria’s army chief has converted the Nigerian military into sponsored terrorist agents of the intolerant and unhinged, sectarian fanatic Saudi royal family. We remind the army chief of the fair advice he has been given to resign and prepare for his legal battles. The ambition of one man does not supersede the survival of the nation. #Zaria_Massacre:Why Governors of Northern Nigeria went to #SaudiArabia? On 12th & 13th December, 2015, the Nigerian Army launched a coordinated & pre-planned attacks on the peaceful Islamic Movement of Nigeria ( IMN ) killing 1000+ defenseless & unarmed Nigerians. After the brutal massacre, the Nigerian Army burnt some of the bodies and buried the rest in mass graves to bury the evidences. Nigerians called for the Nigerian government to establish an independent, credible and impartial judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the Zaria massacre. But the Nigerian government declined to do that despite the huge loss of human lives and massive reports of gross human rights violations by the Nigerian Army. The active Nigerian human rights community rejected all the reasons forwarded by the Nigerian Army as the cause of the massacre. A kangaroo commission was formed by the Kaduna State Governor Nasir Elrufai that was dominated by die-hard Salafis who have ShiaGenocide as a Global agenda and retired military officers who have vested interest. The Secretary of the commission who will compile and finally write the findings of the commission is a die-hard Salafi that hated anything #Shia_Islam. The Kaduna State Governor did not include any member of the Nigerian human rights community to the membership of the commission. The despotic King of Saudi Arabia called the Nigerian President Buhari immediately after the Zaria massacre to congratulate him on the massacre and called for more. From there it becomes clear that the root of the brutal Zaria massacre is not in Nigeria, the root is far away from the shores of Nigeria. It was a case of the imperialist hunting dogs executing the evil agenda of their imperialist masters without considering the consequences that will follow. We were conviced that the hunting dogs will want to be rewarded for a job well done by murdering 1000+ Nigerian civilians in cold blood. Then abruptly we heard that the Nineteen Governors of Northern Nigeria have sent a five (5) man delegation to Saudi Arabia "to negotiate a loan". The governors were led by Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, who is also the Chairman of the Northern States Governors ‘ Forum, (NSGF). Governors Tanko Almakura of Nassarawa, Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna and Mohammed Abubakar of Jigawa are part of the delegation. The meeting between the governors and the bank's top executives started on 31/January/2016 and lasted till Tuesday Feb. 2nd. It is important to note that the visit to Saudi Arabia was not the initiative of Northern Governors, they were summoned by the Saudi authorities to be reward for the brutal slaughter of 1000+ Nigerian #Shia_Muslims and the destruction of the iconic Zaria Husseiniyya. The Northern Governors were in such in a hurry that they forgot all the provisions of the Nigerian laws as it relates to foreign loans. Nobody captured the scenerio than Senator Shehu Sani, who chairs the Senate committee on foreign and domestic debt, who said that the Northern Governors’ effort violated the laws of Nigeria. According to the outspoken senator, who also serves as vice chairman of the Senate committee on Foreign Affairs, the Governors’ application for the loan is a breach of Nigerian laws “that clearly and unambiguously rest the exclusive right to borrow externally on the Federal Government.” Senator Shehu Sani stated, “No state or group of states can borrow from [an] external source without approval from the National Assembly and clearance from the Federal Ministry of Justice.” The senator declared, “Whoever led the Northern Governors to Saudi for [a] loan is ignorant of the relevant provisions of the law or he has chosen to circumvent the law.” It is important to also note that the Nigerian President Buhari has slated to visit Saudi Arabia by February ending on a state visit, the addition of visits to Egypt and Qatar are mere decoys to make it look like a tour. This is all part of the effort to receive the reward for the brutal killings of 1000+ defenseless Nigerians and the total destruction of the Zaria Hussainiyyah. Every conscious person knows how the Saudi regime is obsessed with Shia Islam & the ascendancy of #Iran, and it's quest to attack and destroy all groups that are friendly towards Iran. From a reliable source we learnt the following: (1.)The Northern Governors that travelled to Saudi Arabia went there to discuss how to destroy IMN. (2.)The Saudi authority is trying to get all the Northern Governors on board to support the moves by the Kaduna State government. (3.)The terms of reference of the kangaroo commission was Expanded after the Saudi meeting. (4.)These includes how to judicially and legally Proscribe #IMN and criminalize Shi'ism in Nigeria etc. (5.)The Kaduna Governor promised the commission that all the outcome reached will be accepted and implemented. (6.)Channels for further studies abroad to #Iran, #Iraq & Shia - related countries by members of the IMN will be stopped. (7.)The case of members of IMN that was recently taken to court will be dragged, that was why they adjourned the case to 29th of March, 2016. (8.)The Nigerian Government is dragging foot with respect to Shaikh's case Visa-vis his freedom by keeping him incommunicado until they get favourable indictment from the kangaroo panel of inquiry of the Kaduna State Government. They are afraid of the consequences of Shaikh's freedom, they wish to use the indictment to implement all the above Saudi-sponsored agenda. This discuss is important so that Nigerians should understand that the present Northern - dominated civilian - military cabal that is at the helms of affairs today in Nigeria is not the servant of the Nigerian people that voted them to power. This cabal is hell - bent on executing an evil agenda that was designed & programmed by the Saudi regime that has already set fire on some countries that include #Yemen, #Syria & #Iraq. #FreeZakzaky #GodProtectZakzaky Harun Elbinawi elbinawi@yahoo.com Elbinawi.

It was not the first time in Zaria soldiers have attacked a peaceful Shia procession. In 2014 under the Jonathan government, soldiers had killed Shia followers of the Islamic movement. And that time no one in the procession had a toothpick. The difference is in 2015, the Shia of the IMN were angry and protesting by blocking the road the previous killings. Another big difference is under Jonathan there was no preplanned attack and the killings on the road ended on the road. In 2015 under El Rufai and Buhari, Buratai's men went further to escalate the incident to waste more innocent lives. They attacked the Hussaibiyyah, the house of Sheikh Zakzaky, the cemetery of the IMN and the Fudiyyah schools. In Abuja last Sunday, Buratai did not even bother to ask the church members to clear road for him to pass. He simply diverted. He could have done the same thing in Zaria to protect lives especially when he knew some angry youth wielding sticks and stones were in the procession that contained women and children. But instead we saw a staged appeal to inflame a provocation and justify the use of force. Not content with the number killed on the road, they went ahead to attack other places belonging to the IMN filled with hundreds of people. |

BURATAI'S CONVOY WAS BLOCKED IN ABUJA YESTERDAY A lot of those who don't sympathise with brothers of the Islamic Movement who were gunned downed by the army in Zaria do quickly point accusing fingers to the Movement, saying 'why should you barricade the road of a whole General?' We always say to them it is not because the road was blocked that the army opened fire on armless civilians, rather it was a premeditated plan to exterminate the Movement. And I think what happened yesterday Sunday 14/02/16 is a pointer to our claim that the Nigerian army put on the garb of a JIHADI OUTFIT OF THE LIKES OF ISIS in attacking tne islamic Movement. The General, Buratai ofcourse, drove along Obafemi Awolowo way, Abuja that Sunday morning around 9:15am with amoured convoy that some even claim pass that of Buhari the president, and met a barricade mounted as usual by the MOUNT OF FIRE CHURCH. The convoy quickly took a diversion and went on with its journey. This wasn't in the news ostensibly because the General this time around did the right thing - accomodate the excess of neighbors in as much as it is not an everyday affair. NOBODY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN ZARIA HAD THE ARMY GENERAL BEHAVED THE WAY HE DID IN ABUJA LAST SUNDAY. Some were even saying, had he retreated in zaria, he would have shamed his uniform, but did he disgrace his uniform yesterday? He is still the COAS we know. All well meaning Nigerians should by now be asking the Nigerian army whose script it acted upon when it murdered 1000+ muslim civilians in Zaria? |

BREAKING:The oppressive & tyrannical Nigerian regime send it's secret police (SSS) in three (3) cars to the house of the younger sister of His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, Hajiya Maimuna, that they want to take them to see the Sheikh. Hajiya Maimuna have refused to go. For more than two months now, the Nigerian regime have not allowed any close family member of Sheikh Zakzaky to see him depict the fact that they shot him six (6) times and shot his wife twice. We now wonder why are they now desperate to take his family members to see him? It should remember that this same regime that killed 1000+ defenseless & unarmed Nigerians in Zaria that included three (3) biological Sons of Sheikh Zakzaky is holding Sheikh Zakzaky incommunicado for more than two months. His Lawyers had written several times to the Nigerian regime to allow them access to him but the regime have refused. #FreeZakzaky #GodProtectZakzaky #Elbinawi IMN spokesperson |
The Road to 2017 Budget By Pius Adesanmi What the creatives prepared by Budgit – the social conscience outfit that has become the nemesis of even the most ingenious yam eater in Nigeria – on President Buhari’s 2016 Federal budget is to ensure that even members of NURTW can discuss the said budget at Agodi motor park in Ibadan, while eating amala and abula amidst squeals of “Ado kan!”, “Ado kan!”, “Ado kan!” The budget is now accessible in a format that Iya Kubura and Baba Kasali can understand and President Buhari and his team are finding out, too late and disastrously so for them, that yesterday’s monkeys in Idanre have disappeared, replaced by socially-conscious agents capable of grasping the monumental fraud in the budget. If you thought that you’d seen the worst in that budget with the creatives by Budgit, it means you have not gone through the forensic analysis prepared by the media outfit, Premium Times. Entitled “Inside the Massive Fraud in Buhari’s 2016 Budget”, one passage in this report is worth quoting in some detail: “A particularly disturbing instance of misplaced priority is the allocation for books for Vice President Osinbajo’s office. Mr. Osinbajo’s office has more money allocated to it for books than what each of the federal polytechnics in the country are getting for the same purpose. While N4,906,822 was proposed to be spent on books by Mr Osinbajo, the total allocation for books for 11 out of 22 federal polytechnics, which actually have book allocations, was a mere N3,832,038.” Because Nigerians can squeeze humour and laughter out of stone – it is not for nothing that they earned the distinction of being the happiest people on earth – they have been able to turn President Buhari’s budget tragedy into a source of national carnivalesque. But all the comedy, all the humour, all the laughter which has greeted the unbelievable perverseness of the 2016 budget is the laughter which the Yoruba say is the only recourse of those who have run out of tears. The situation is made much worse by President Buhari’s chronic inability to recognize moments of national solemnity and do what is needed. When a Federal budget is this badly bungled, it is a moment of national disgrace and humiliation which tragically undermines the humanity and dignity of the Nigerian. The first order of national healing happens when the President accepts responsibility, comforts people, addresses them, and promises appropriate sanctions. We need to start teaching Nigeria’s leadership that the sky does not fall when you talk to your people, accept responsibility, and comfort them in times of national solemnity. We need to start teaching Nigeria’s leadership that if you accept responsibility for things gone awry, ojuju Calabar will not come and carry you in the dead of night. To address Nigerians vaguely and casually through a Facebook update by Garba Shehu welcoming criticism on this grave budget matter is an insult. There are moments which require the face and the voice of the big man himself. Diehard supporters will resort to the default mode of saying that the President cannot personally speak to everything. They are wrong. They are ignorant of the power of symbolic national moments when the Nigerian needs to hear directly from his President. Nigeria being Nigeria, we must accept the crumb that we have received from Garba Shehu. He says that they are prepared to listen to criticism of the budget in good faith. We tell them that, hopefully, the 2016 budget will be the last that President Buhari and his team will ever present without having read a single page of it. We understand perfectly that this is a long-standing Nigerian tradition. No administration, no previous government, has ever read a budget they presented. You just have civil servants photocopy the text of last year’s budget and make the necessary yam adjustments for inflation. Let President Buhari finally settle down to read his 2016 budget, he’d be amazed by its similarity to the budget he read in 1985. He’d be amazed by its similarity to every budget that has ever been read after 1985, all the way to President Jonathan. Only the figures and the size and scale of the theft and the padding are adjusted by civil servants. The text is essentially the same insipid and unimaginative text – it never varies. The sentences are the same. The only other thing which varies is the christening: budget of hope, budget of growth, budget of creativity, budget of transformation, budget of restoration. Then you start again from hope and run through the same titles year after year. In essence, nobody is saying that the national shame of copying and pasting last year’s budget without reading it, merely inserting new yams and adjusting old yams for inflation, started with president Buhari. What he is to be blamed for, his monumental failure, is in not changing this paradigm. He is supposed to be the first President to have ever read the budget he presented in Nigeria’s recent history. He is supposed to have spent weeks poring over every detail, he and his team huddled in his office, reviewing and revising the text, with plenty of Nescafe sachets, goro, and tomtom wraps littering the work space. The damage has already been done. This is the time for President Buhari and his team to start preparing to earn their salaries by actually reading the 2017 budget. Too many people are holding civil servants responsible for the budget mess. I’m afraid President Buhari bears singular responsibility for this gargantuan failure and betrayal of public trust. If you keep sugar coating things for the President and absolving him of every misstep, if you keep saying that the buck stops at the desk of civil servants and political aides, you are on the path to destroying this President. You are not helping him. Let me remind you, career absolver of President Buhari, that when criticism emerged of ethnic lopsidedness in the President’s appointments, you pleaded with Nigerians to understand the fact that the President needed to appoint only trusted hands that he knows and can trust and can supervise and can work with. You said that he needed to appoint only people he was sure would not mess him up. You said he needed those who would do a great job. Similarly, when he took twenty years to form a cabinet – I’m a writer; I use hyperbole for effect here – you frog-marched the same rationalizations into his defense. You said that he needed all the time in the world to appoint competent people he knows. If you are now saying that all these people are the ones to blame for messing up the budget… do you see the problem of logic that has just fallen on your laps? It is time for you to stop insisting on ogbono that has lost its slimy and draw capacity. Okro is also draw soup. Boil water and prepare okro. In other words, stop blaming aides every time something goes wrong. Try holding the President responsible for something for a change. You must read your budget before presenting it. Hopefully, President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo, who wants to read more books than all Federal polytechnics combined, have learned a lesson. However, reading your budget is one thing, knowing that a budget is an identity document, a philosophy of your essence, is another thing. I have written about this before in my essay on the Dubai of the belly. You don’t just consider a budget an annual ritual in which your ministries and agencies and other mechanisms of your bureaucracy cobble together a spending diet for the year. The story of postcolonial budgeting in Nigeria is the story of ostentation, opulence, lazy and parasitic consumption without producing. Every budget document shows a pathological national hatred for genius, innovation, creation, and sacrifice. A fundamental shift in budget philosophy requires a very deep understanding of symbolism. President Buhari will never reach this understanding if he is constantly reassured that his aides, ministers, and civil servants are responsible for his errors of the rendering. President Buhari must take the bold step of looking in the mirror every morning and telling the man starring back at him: the pot is yours. You break it, you own it. I wish him Godspeed.
