JAMB has outlived its usefulness. |
This story breaks my heart because it is the story of so many Nigerian families today, and as someone who loves this country with all my being, it fills me with both sorrow and anger that a hardworking man simply trying to survive can be taken from his home and held for a ransom that his family could never dream of paying. This reminds me that our nation's true progress will only come when every citizen, especially the poor and voiceless, can live without fear and return to their family at the end of each day. I am calling on all Nigerians, whether at home or abroad, to let our shared humanity be stronger than the divisions that keep us quiet, and to do whatever we can to help bring this good man back to his loved ones, because a united Nigeria is one where we fight for each other. |
Congratulations to them |
As a Nigerian who loves Nigeria deeply and believes in its bright future, this news troubles my heart. It is hard to accept that our National Assembly would remove the issue of forged certificates from the grounds for election petitions, because our Constitution is very clear that presenting a fake certificate disqualifies someone from leading us. This law feels like a step backwards for our moral values and for the progress we fight for. If we allow people who have cheated with forged documents to hold office simply by removing this as a legal challenge, we are building our nation on a weak and dishonest foundation. For the sake of our unity and the peace we cherish, I pray the National Assembly reconsiders this urgently and ensures that only people of true integrity and honest qualifications are allowed to serve our beloved nation. It is well with Nigeria. |

Reading this news fills me with deep sadness and worry. We are a country blessed with so much potential, yet stories like this, about huge contracts being awarded without proper transparency, only serve to divide us and shake our trust in the government. For the sake of our national progress, we must insist on due process and accountability in every government project, because when the system is fair and focused on genuine development rather than personal gain, it is the common Nigerian who suffers less and the dream of a united, prosperous nation that comes closer to reality. |
This statement is deeply troubling, not because of its religious meaning, but because of what it reveals about our political culture. When a leader suggests that "political sins" do not matter in the grand scheme of things, it lowers the standard of accountability we should demand from those who govern us. In politics, the "sins" being discussed (betraying trust, stepping on toes, or making decisions that hurt others) are not harmless. They are the very things that tear at the fabric of our national unity and slow our progress. If we treat these actions as temporary or unimportant, we risk creating a system where impunity thrives, and where ordinary citizens lose faith in their leaders. For Nigeria to truly move forward, we must insist that integrity in public service is not optional, and that the way we treat each other in the political arena has real consequences for the peace and development of our nation. |
I have absolutely nothing against single mothers, but a single man contemplating a relationship with one such as this should as certain pertinent questions before going ahead: 1. What is the current nature and frequency of communication between her and her children's father, and what specific role, if any, does he play in their daily lives and decision-making? 2. Has she been fully transparent about the legal and custody arrangements regarding her two boys, and is she willing to provide documentation if the relationship progresses? 3. How does she envision integrating a new partner into her established family unit, and what specific timeline does she have in mind for introducing him to her children? 4. What are her explicit expectations regarding your future role in parenting, disciplining, and financially supporting her two boys? 5. Has she completed a thorough self-reflection on her past relationship that led to her being a single mother, and what concrete lessons has she learned to ensure past patterns are not repeated? 6. What is her current financial situation, including debts, child support arrangements, and monthly expenses, and how does she envision finances being managed if you were to cohabitate? 7. Is the children's father aware that she is actively dating with the intention of finding a serious partner, and what is his attitude towards another man being involved in his sons' lives? 8. How much of her available time and emotional energy is currently consumed by her responsibilities as a mother, and how much of that is realistically left to cultivate a new, deep romantic connection? 9. What is her definition of "something serious" in terms of commitment, and does that include expectations of eventual marriage, cohabitation, or blending of assets? 10. What boundaries has she already established with her children and their father to protect the privacy and integrity of a new romantic relationship during its early, formative stages? |
