The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST)and Samsung Electronicshave partnered in an initiative that will provide more opportunities, resources and tools to West African entrepreneurs, resulting in several areas of positive impact for the tech ecosystem. MEST trains, investsand incubatesaspiring African software entrepreneurs, putting them on the path to become globally successful technology entrepreneurs; Samsung’s role will have deep impact ateach phaseof the MEST program. Training MEST recruits top talent from Ghanaian and Nigerian university graduates. Once enrolled, Entrepreneurs-in-Training (EITs) receive a full scholarship to an intensive program that blends hands-on training in software development with business and communications education. During this period, EITs are also tasked with forming new business ideas based on the tech skills they’ve built, with the guidance of teaching fellows and staff. Samsung will be involved from the early stages, starting with company ideation and pitching processes during the MEST training portion and will support MEST by providing in-kind as well as subsidized devices and tablets that can be used to test out and further develop their solutions. EITs will also have the opportunity to apply for internship positions at Samsung during MEST internship breaks in Lagos, Nigeria campus. Investment Upon graduating from the MEST training program, EITs stand to receive an initial round of seed fundingfrom MEST (ranging from $50-$250,000) to pursue their business. Investment hinges on EITs’ “final exam” (a business pitch to the board) and is based on specific KPIs as well as the commercial viability of the business idea. Samsung Enterprise Business Partners in Nigeria will have the opportunity to invest as well as have a minority stake in a new or existing company coming out of MEST. Incubation Teams that receive investmentare given subsidized office space, 24/7 electricity and internet, and access to MEST’s global network of advisors comprised of renowned venture capitalists and entrepreneurs from around the globe, all of whom support the distribution, marketing and sales of these newly incubated companies. Adding to this support, the MEST-Samsung partnership will help open doors for MEST incubator companies – both consumer and B2B focused – to partner on distribution of mobile applications and cross-marketing services. Samsung will work with MEST-incubated companies and facilitate introductions of market-fit and market-ready MEST startups to Samsung Enterprise Business Partners and Samsung Information and Mobility Business teams to further explore specific commercial and technical partnerships to pilot and scale these products/services through strategic projects addressing market needs in verticals such as Education, Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, Transportation and Hospitality. Due to MEST’s role in the developer, technology startup space in West Africa, MEST will help provide Samsung general access and visibility with developers and entrepreneurs in West Africa. The two organizations plan to roll-out a series of co-sponsored events in Ghana and Nigeria, where new ideas and technology will have the opportunity to prosper. The first of such events will take place during the next two weeks: MEST and Samsung are formally kicking of their partnership at Mobile West Africain Lagos, Nigeria. Additionally, MEST is hosting an informational recruitment session and meet-up for Nigerian candidates who wish to be considered for MEST’s next batch of EITs. Interested individuals can apply directly on the MEST website http://meltwater.org/school/admissions/

I'm presently involved with a company called Foodmart Company Limited. This company is involved with the supply of table eggs to all parts of lagos. The only thing I do is to get customers for them and they pay me 40% of the profit on each crate and they bear all the expenses of bringing the eggs from farms outside of Lagos and supply to my customers through me. So to my customers, I'm still the one supplying them while I bear no expenses at all. The present profit rate/crate now is 50naira. They get 30naira/crate while I get 20naira/crate. Presently, I have 2000crates market in which I pocket 40k/week. So if you will like to join this network. Please indicate your interest by sending your name, age, sex, Location and how many crates you can get in your area per week to skymobilemultimedia@yahoo.com and you will be on your way to making steady income for yourself. For more info, please call Abiodun 07036363482, 08178642472 |

We all happy that GMB is coming in to clean up the mess that has been created by GEJ and his party cohorts since the advent of democracy. This also brings to the fore these questions 1. Who are the machinery that GMB will use to fight corruption; is it not the same bad elements that cross-carpeted from the PDP? 2. Have we forgotten the agenda that GMB has always had to Islamize Nigeria and hand it over to the OIC? 3. What if truly that Buhari is the financier of Boko Haram; what happens after he wins the election? 4. Have we forgotten so soon the non-performance of GMB while he was the head of PTF? 5. Are we not going to be moving from fry-pan to fire? These are the questions we need to ask ourselves ooo. I want GMB to win and be our needed #change but is this #change not going to cost us greatly sha. hmmm |
Bartholomew Owoh, one of the three young Nigerians executed by General Buhari for an offence that did not carry the death penalty is the elder brother of Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh popularly known as Osuofia, emerging facts indicate. A source close to the Nollywood actor revealed this to BREAKING TIMES on Thursday on condition of anonymity. According to the source, Nkem Owoh and the rest of his family have not recovered from the trauma of the cold-blooded murder of the three young men, particularly their brother and son, Bartholomew Owoh Bernard Ogedengbe (29), Bartholomew Owoh (26) and Lawal Ojuolape (30) publicly executed by Buhari for a crime that did not carry the death penalty at the time of the offence. The laws of Nigeria at the time the offence was committed did not prescribe the death penalty. When Buhari took over power, he insisted the young men should be executed and they were killed publicly by firing squad. “Nkem Owoh and his family are so distraught with Buhari for killing their brother at the young age of 26. Every time he sees Buhari on TV, he weeps bitterly over his brother. He can’t even believe that Buhari has the nerve to seek re-election as President”, the source told BREAKING TIMES.

Dunno the coach's name. Its hard to know the coach of Nice's A team not to talk of their B team. Who dey follow French football sef :PDunno the coach's name. Its hard to know the coach of Nice's A team not to talk of their B team. Who dey follow French football sef |
We can’t decide if this is so bonkers it’ll never catch on or just really clever, but the B team of French side Nice have a pretty different way of defending against free-kicks. Instead of the simple wall-in-front-of-the-goalkeeper idea that we’re all familiar with, they put a wall of players on the goal line… then had their goalkeeper out of the net. Nice B showed off their new defensive formation against Grenoble this week – and it worked, as the free-kick was easily headed off the line. Is this a new defensive tactic or what? As for me, immediately I saw the advert on OLX, I decided to apply, I got a reply in my inbox with a questionnaire attached from hiltonrecruit@careceo.com. What I immediately did was to visit www.careceo.com, discovered that the website in a chinese website. Out of curiosity, I decided to fill their letter and send it back. Next that I got was an appointment letter asking me to resume this October and I was asked to pay for working permit charges and some oda charges to an agent. That is when I knew for sure that this is a pure scam. But I knew that if it is a scam, it must have happened to some1 and that is how I got here on NL. People, run for ur dear lives when u see this in mail. |
