WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 10th October 2025 Day 71 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS RESTORES WHAT WAS LOST Bible Verse: “...And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten... And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God...”. — Joel 2:25–26 (KJV) REFLECTION: Heaven’s Restoration Plan Begins at the Cross Life has its way of taking things — time, joy, innocence, relationships, and even destiny. Sin and Satan both aim to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Yet, in the shadow of the Cross, a divine reversal begins. The Cross is not only the altar of forgiveness, but the starting point of restoration. At Calvary, Jesus didn’t just pay for your sins — He also reclaimed everything that sin and the enemy stole from you. The peace you lost — He restores it: “My peace I give unto you” (John 14:27). The joy you once had — He returns it: “Your joy no man taketh from you” (John 16:22). The strength you lacked — He renews it: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31). The years you wasted — He redeems them: “The Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning” (Job 42:12). At the Cross, restoration becomes reality. What was lost in Eden is recovered at Calvary. What was buried in shame is resurrected in glory. Just as Peter, who denied Christ three times, was restored and empowered to lead thousands (John 21:15–17; Acts 2:41), God can rewrite your story from failure to fruitfulness. The same Jesus who restored Peter’s calling is still saying to you today, “Follow Me.” Your losses are not final. The Cross declares: nothing is beyond recovery when placed in the hands of the Redeemer. TESTIMONY: “He Gave Me Back More Than I Lost” Sister Omolara Dada once shared how she lost her job, her peace, and her marriage all within two years. Depression almost took her life. But one day, as she knelt before the Cross, she heard the whisper of Joel 2:25: “I will restore.” She began to pray daily with renewed faith, forgiving those who hurt her and recommitting her life to Christ. Within a year, God gave her a new job better than the one she lost, healed her emotionally, and opened doors for her to minister to other women going through the same pain. She said, “The Cross didn’t just forgive me; it gave me back everything — with interest.” WISDOM NUGGET: The Cross is God’s recovery plan. — Job 42:10 When Job prayed again, God turned his captivity. When you look again to the Cross, God begins your restoration. CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. What areas of your life do you feel have been stolen or wasted? → Be honest with yourself. Whether it’s time, opportunities, relationships, or inner peace — bring it to the Cross. Nothing presented at the Cross remains broken. 2. How does the promise of restoration through the Cross give you hope today? → It reminds you that your story isn’t over. The Cross proves that even after death comes resurrection. What you lost isn’t lost forever — God is working to restore it “exceeding abundantly above all you ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). CALL TO DECISION If you’ve been living in regret or loss, today is your day of recovery. Jesus bore your pain, shame, and loss on the Cross so you can live in restoration and peace. SAY THIS PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I bring before You every area of my life where I’ve suffered loss — my joy, my time, my opportunities, and my faith. I surrender them all to You. By the power of the Cross, restore my life, renew my strength, and rewrite my story for Your glory. I receive divine restoration today. In Jesus’ name, Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE List specific areas where you’ve experienced loss. Then write a declaration of faith that through the Cross, restoration is yours! Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 8th October 2025 Day 69 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS FULFILLS ALL PROMISES Bible Verse: “...For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us...” — 2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) REFLECTION: The Cross Is the Signature That Seals Every Promise God’s character is unchanging: “...God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?...” — Numbers 23:19 (KJV) From Genesis to Revelation, we see promises made by God—promises of forgiveness (Isaiah 1:18), healing (Psalm 103:3), peace (Isaiah 26:3), restoration (Joel 2:25), provision (Philippians 4:19), victory (Romans 8:37), and eternal life (John 3:16). Yet these promises remained like unsigned cheques until the cross. At Calvary, Christ declared, “...It is finished...” (John 19:30), signifying that the debt of sin was fully paid and the bridge to every promise was secured. Through the cross, our “maybe” became a “must,” and our “hopeful someday” turned into “already secured.” “...He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?...” — Romans 8:32 (KJV) When you look at the cross, you’re not staring at an uncertain future—you’re beholding a divine receipt stamped in blood: “Paid in full.” Every promise of God is signed with the crimson ink of Christ’s sacrifice and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13–14). The enemy cannot annul what the cross has ratified. “...The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand...” — Isaiah 14:24 (KJV) LIFE TESTIMONY: From Despair to Divine Fulfillment A young woman named Rachel Ajayi battled a chronic illness for eight years. She had clung to Psalm 118:17— “...I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord...” Doctors grew weary of giving her hope, and every prayer felt unanswered. But one Easter, during a Good Friday service, the pastor preached on 1 Peter 2:24— “...By His stripes you were healed...” Rachel said something stirred within her: “...If the cross has already paid for my healing, then I will stop begging and start believing...” She left that service with renewed faith and peace. Within months, her health improved dramatically, and the doctors were stunned. She often testifies: “It wasn’t the medicine that changed me first; it was the cross that changed my mindset. I saw the promise already fulfilled in Christ.” WISDOM NUGGET Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for He is faithful that promised. — Hebrews 10:23 (KJV) The cross turns God’s promises from “maybe” to “guaranteed.” CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Are there promises you’ve doubted because of delays or difficulties? Answer: Delays do not mean denial. Abraham waited 25 years for Isaac (Genesis 21:1–2), Joseph endured 13 years before his dream was fulfilled (Genesis 50:20), and Israel waited centuries for the Messiah (Galatians 4:4). The cross proves God’s timeline never fails; His promises may seem slow, but they’re certain. 2. How does the cross strengthen your faith to hold on until fulfillment? Answer: The cross reminds us that the greatest promise—our salvation—has already been fulfilled (John 3:16). If God kept His word in the hardest promise—giving His Son—He will surely keep His word in every lesser promise to you. “...Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away...” — Matthew 24:35 (KJV) CALL TO DECISION Today, decide to trust the One who sealed every promise at Calvary. Lay down your doubts at the foot of the cross and pick up faith again. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You for the cross that fulfilled every promise. I surrender my fears and delays to You. I choose to trust that what You paid for cannot be denied to me. Strengthen my faith to hold on until I see Your word come to pass. In Jesus’ name, Amen.” EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write down three promises of God you are currently believing for. Then declare over each one: “Because of the cross, this promise is Yes and Amen!” Believe what the scripture says, "...Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it...” — 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (KJV) Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 7th October 2025 Day 68 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS A DAILY LIFESTYLE, NOT A ONE-TIME EVENT Bible Verse: “...I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily...” —1 Corinthians 15:31 (KJV) “The cross is not just something to remember—it’s something to live.” REFLECTION: The Cross Isn’t Just for Calvary—It’s for Every Day The cross was never meant to be only a historical symbol at Calvary; it is the ongoing call to live a life of surrender. Jesus Himself declared: “...If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me...” —Luke 9:23 (KJV) The cross is not a decorative emblem to hang on your neck—it is the defining mark of a disciple. Paul understood this deeply when he wrote, “I die daily” (1 Corinthians 15:31), meaning that each new dawn demanded fresh surrender of his own desires, ego, and will to the Lordship of Christ. Living the cross daily means putting to death “the old man with his deeds” (Colossians 3:5) so that the life of Christ may shine through you: “...I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…"—Galatians 2:20 (KJV) The world teaches you to preserve self, defend ego, and demand your rights. The cross teaches you to yield yourself as “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God” (Romans 12:1). Every day presents choices: To forgive or to hold a grudge (Ephesians 4:32) To repay evil with good or with bitterness (Romans 12:17–21) To love enemies or retaliate (Matthew 5:44) To walk in humility or in pride (Philippians 2:3–5) When the cross becomes your lifestyle, it transforms how you think, forgive, speak, and love. You don’t just wear the cross—you walk it out. TESTIMONY: “The Day I Chose to Die to Self” I remember a time when a close friend betrayed my trust and spread false stories about me. My natural response was to defend myself and retaliate, but the Lord reminded me of His words: “...For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: who, when he was reviled, reviled not again…” —1 Peter 2:21–23 (KJV) That night, in tears, I surrendered my desire to prove myself right. I prayed for that friend instead of speaking against them. It wasn’t easy, but the peace of God flooded my heart. That moment taught me that the power of the cross is revealed when you choose to die to self and let Christ live through you. WISDOM NUGGET: Carry your cross like it’s your identity—not your burden. —Luke 9:23 CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & CRAFTED ANSWERS 1. Q: What does “dying daily” look like in your current season of life? Answer: “Dying daily” could mean choosing to forgive someone who repeatedly hurts you (Matthew 18:21–22), controlling your temper when provoked (James 1:19–20), letting go of secret sins (Romans 6:6), or surrendering your dreams to God’s timing and will (Proverbs 3:5–6). 2. Q: In what specific areas do you need to embrace the cross more consistently? Answer: Perhaps it’s in the way you respond to criticism, the secret grudges you’ve been nurturing, the temptation to compromise your integrity at work, or the desire to retaliate when wronged. The cross calls you to release your right to revenge (Romans 12:19), your obsession with recognition (Matthew 6:1–4), and your comfort zone when obedience to Christ demands sacrifice. CALL TO DECISION: Today, the Lord calls you to move beyond admiring the cross to embracing it as your daily lifestyle. “...He that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me..." —Matthew 10:38 (KJV) Carrying the cross means surrendering your will to God’s—laying down pride, grudges, and sin so that Christ can live through you. “...For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it...” —Matthew 16:25 (KJV) Today, choose to let go of what holds you back and take up your cross with joy. Say with Paul: “...I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…” —Galatians 2:20 (KJV) ACTION STEP: Take a quiet moment today to list the areas in your life where self still tries to rule. Then write a declaration surrendering those areas to the cross, committing to daily renewal and obedience to Christ. PRAYER OF SURRENDER: Lord Jesus, today I lay down my pride, my fears, my grudges, and my own will at the foot of Your cross. I choose to die to self daily so that You may live through me. Teach me to walk in the power of Your resurrection and the humility of Your cross, in Jesus' name, Amen. List the areas in your life where self still tries to rule. Now write a declaration surrendering those areas to the cross, committing to daily renewal and obedience. Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 5th October 2025 Day: 66 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS DEFEATED CONDEMNATION Bible Verse: “...There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit...” —Romans 8:1 (KJV) REFLECTION: Grace Has the Final Say Today we celebrate the victory of the Cross that silenced every voice of condemnation. The Cross didn’t just cancel sin—it crushed condemnation. Before the Cross, judgment loomed heavy over humanity: “...The soul that sinneth, it shall die...” —Ezekiel 18:20 The Law exposed our guilt but could not set us free: “For by the law is the knowledge of sin.” —Romans 3:20 But when Jesus cried, “It is finished” (John 19:30), He was not only ending His suffering—He was ending the legal case against you: “…Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us… nailing it to His cross...” —Colossians 2:14 Now, in Christ, the verdict is “Not guilty!” “...For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved...” —John 3:17 You are no longer defined by your failures or haunted by your past. Guilt may knock at your heart’s door, but you don’t have to answer: “…Their sins and iniquities will I remember no more...” —Hebrews 10:17 The blood of Jesus speaks louder than every accusation of the enemy: “…and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel...” —Hebrews 12:24 Condemnation weakens, paralyzes, and shames. But grace lifts, forgives, heals, and empowers: “...For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace...” —Romans 6:14 The Cross gives you courage to live boldly, love freely, and serve God with a clean conscience: “…How much more shall the blood of Christ… purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?...” —Hebrews 9:14 Today, silence every condemning voice by declaring the truth of Romans 8:1: I am free. I am forgiven. I am no longer under judgment. TESTIMONY: “No Longer a Prisoner of My Past” I once lived under the crushing weight of condemnation. Years ago, I made choices that hurt people I loved. Though I had confessed and turned from them, the shame lingered like a shadow that followed me everywhere. I believed God forgave me, but I could not forgive myself. Then one day, as I read Romans 8:1, it was as if the words leapt off the page: “There is therefore now no condemnation…” I realized I had been living as if the Cross was not enough. That night, I knelt and prayed, thanking God for the blood of Jesus. I said aloud: If You don’t condemn me, I refuse to condemn myself. From that moment, the chains of guilt broke. I discovered what it meant to be “justified by faith” (Romans 5:1)—to walk in peace, knowing that the Cross had settled my case forever. WISDOM NUGGET Where the Cross speaks, condemnation is silenced. —John 3:17; Isaiah 54:17 “...No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn…” —Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Q: What past mistake do you still feel condemned about—even though you’ve repented? A: If you’ve confessed it to God, He has forgiven you (1 John 1:9). That means it no longer exists in His record. Holding on to guilt is like paying a debt that’s already been cleared. “...As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us...” —Psalm 103:12 2. Q: How can you replace guilt with gratitude for the Cross today? A: Start each morning by thanking Jesus for His finished work (2 Corinthians 5:21). Meditate on Scriptures like Romans 8:1, John 3:17, and Hebrews 12:24. When guilt tries to creep in, declare aloud: I am forgiven. I am justified. I am free by the blood of Jesus! CALL TO DECISION Friend, condemnation loses its grip only when you stand in Christ. If you have not received Jesus as your Savior, today is the day to step into the freedom He paid for at the Cross. PRAY SINCERELY: Lord Jesus, I believe You died for my sins and rose again for my justification. I receive Your forgiveness and declare that You are Lord of my life. Thank You for silencing condemnation. In Jesus’ name, Amen. If you’re already a believer but have been carrying guilt, surrender it at the Cross now: Father, I accept Your mercy and lay down every burden of shame. I believe Your word: there is no condemnation for me in Christ. I walk free today, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Today’s Declaration I live under grace, not guilt. The Cross has spoken: I am free, forgiven, and fully accepted in Christ. EXPLORATIVE CUE Write your own declaration of freedom from condemnation. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 4th October 2025 Day 65 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS ESTABLISHES A NEW IDENTITY Bible Verse: “...According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will...” (Ephesians 1:4–5 (KJV) REFLECTION: You Are Who He Says You Are The Cross of Christ is more than a symbol of suffering—it is the altar of exchange where your old life was crucified and your new identity was born. “...Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new...” (2 Corinthians 5:17) Long before the world labeled you by your past, failures, or circumstances, God had already defined you: chosen, holy, and beloved (Colossians 3:12). Through the Cross, you are no longer a stranger but a child of God: “...But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name....” (John 1:12) The Cross strips off shame and removes every false identity that life or the enemy has placed on you: Where the world said “forsaken,” God says: “...You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name...” (Isaiah 62:2) Where guilt once defined you, Jesus declares: “...There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus....” (Romans 8:1) Your scars no longer define you—His sacrifice does. You are redeemed (Galatians 3:13), accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6), and called out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Today, when the enemy whispers lies about your past, silence him with what the Cross has already declared: You are no longer rejected—you are adopted. You are no longer guilty—you are justified. You are no longer broken—you are made whole. TESTIMONY: “From Street Reputation to Sonship” A man named Abegunde Kajola grew up in the rough streets of Lagos, known by everyone for his quick temper, petty crimes, and addiction. His nickname on the streets was “Terror,” a label he wore for years. One Sunday, he was invited to a small church where the preacher declared: “...Jesus said, ‘Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest..." (Matthew 11:28). Your past does not define you—the Cross has a new name for you.” That day, Abegunde surrendered at the altar. He said later, “I felt as though a heavy chain fell off my soul. For the first time, I believed I was not who the streets said I was, but who Christ said I am.” Over time, the one once called “Terror” became a pastor, counseling young men who were just like he once was. He now introduces himself with a smile: “I’m Abegunde, redeemed and restored by the Cross.” His life embodies Revelation 2:17: “...To him that overcometh… will I give a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it...” WISDOM NUGGET: The Cross didn’t just forgive you—it renamed you. “...You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name...”— Isaiah 62:2 “...For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father...” — Romans 8:15–17 CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. What false labels or past identities do you need to surrender at the foot of the Cross? Answer: We all have labels—failure, unworthy, rejected, abandoned—that the enemy or our past has given us. At the Cross, these labels lose their power because Christ bore our shame (Hebrews 12:2) and nailed our old self to the cross (Galatians 2:20). To surrender them means acknowledging that the old me died with Christ and I now live by faith in the Son of God. 2. How can you begin to walk in the confidence of your true identity in Christ today? Answer: Walking in your new identity begins by believing the truth of God’s Word above your feelings (Romans 10:17). Confess daily: “I am accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:6). Reject thoughts of condemnation (Romans 8:1). Surround yourself with the Word and fellowship that reminds you who you are in Christ. Live in obedience to this identity: holy, blameless, and loved (Ephesians 1:4). Confidence comes when you let the Word define you, not your wounds. CALL TO DECISION: A Prayer of Exchange If you’ve been living under the weight of false identities—labels given by your past, your mistakes, or the world—it’s time to lay them at the foot of the Cross. “...That ye put off… the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and… put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness...” — Ephesians 4:22–24 PRAYER: Lord Jesus, today I surrender every false label and every shameful identity at the foot of Your Cross. I receive the new name, the new nature, and the adoption as Your child. Help me to walk in the confidence of who You have made me to be—redeemed, restored, and deeply loved, in Jesus' name, Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write down three lies you’ve believed about your identity. Then beside each one, write a truth from Scripture that the Cross declares about you. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 3rd October 2025 Day 64 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS SECURES ETERNAL LIFE Bible Verse: “...And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day...” — John 6:40 (KJV) REFLECTION: Living With Eternity in View The Cross does not end with death—it begins with life eternal. Jesus declared, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25). At Calvary, He wasn’t merely settling sin’s debt; He was unlocking the gates of heaven. His death paid the price for your redemption (Hebrews 9:12), and His resurrection proved that death’s power was defeated forever (1 Corinthians 15:54–57). Through the Cross, eternity is no longer a distant hope—it becomes a living reality. The Word says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11). For the believer, death is no longer a dead end but a doorway to everlasting fellowship with Christ. As Paul affirmed, “to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). The Cross transforms funerals into transitions and graves into gateways. This world is not your permanent address. You are a pilgrim and a citizen of heaven (Philippians 3:20). Jesus assures us, “In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2). Embrace the Cross today, not only for the forgiveness of sins but for the certainty of forever with Christ. Eternal life is not achieved by works—it is received by faith in the finished work of Jesus on the Cross (Ephesians 2:8–9). TESTIMONY: From Despair to Eternal Hope At just 34, a young woman named Clara received a terminal diagnosis that shook her to the core. Fear gripped her soul, and she confessed, “I’m scared of what comes after death.” One afternoon, a friend visited her in the hospital and read John 3:16 aloud: “...For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life...” That night, Clara prayed for the first time in years, surrendering her life to Christ and embracing the Cross. A remarkable peace came over her—a peace she could not explain. Weeks before her passing, Clara told her family, “I’m not afraid anymore. I know where I’m going. Jesus paid for me at the Cross, and I will be with Him.” Her funeral wasn’t marked by despair but by hope. Her life reminded everyone that eternal life begins the moment you trust in Christ—not the day you die. WISDOM NUGGET: Eternity begins where the Cross is embraced. — (John 3:15–16; 1 John 5:11–13) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Do you live each day with eternity in view, or are you consumed by temporary things? Answer: Many live as though this life is all there is—chasing possessions, recognition, and fleeting pleasures. But Jesus warned, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Matthew 16:26). Living with eternity in view means prioritizing what matters to God—souls, righteousness, and your relationship with Christ (Colossians 3:1–2). It means making choices that echo in eternity. 2. How does the promise of eternal life through the Cross shape your attitude toward trials and death? Answer: The promise of eternal life gives courage to face trials with hope. Paul said, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17). Knowing that death has been swallowed up in victory (1 Corinthians 15:54) removes fear and replaces it with peace. Trials become temporary bumps on the journey to an everlasting home. CALL TO DECISION: Embrace the Cross Today Eternal life is a gift, not a reward. You cannot buy it, earn it, or inherit it through family traditions. It is yours only by faith in the One who died for you. Jesus said: “...He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life...” (John 5:24). Friend, eternity is closer than you think. Will you gamble with your soul, or will you receive the gift of eternal life today? PRAY FROM YOUR HEART: Lord Jesus, I believe You died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. I surrender my life to You today. Forgive me, cleanse me, and make me Yours forever, in Jesus ' name, Amen. Take a moment to thank Jesus for this gift that can never be taken away. If you made this decision, rejoice—your name is written in the Book of Life (Revelation 20:15; Luke 10:20). EXPLORATION CUE: Write a heartfelt letter to Jesus today, thanking Him for the eternal life He purchased for you at the Cross. As you write, reflect on how this promise shapes your daily walk and your future hope. Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. Christ Leads Assembly Church |
WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 2nd October 2025 Day 63 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS THE POWER BEHIND FORGIVENESS Bible Verse: “...Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye...” Colossians 3:13 (KJV) REFLECTION: Forgiveness Rooted in the Cross Forgiveness isn’t easy—but the cross makes it possible. You forgive not because the offender apologized or made it right, but because “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5: .At Calvary, Jesus didn’t wait for our apology—He bore our sin, absorbed our guilt, and released mercy. Forgiveness is not about your emotions; it’s about obedience to the example of Christ. Jesus commanded, “...For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive… neither will your Father forgive your trespasses...” (Matthew 6:14-15). Bitterness binds the soul, but the cross breaks those chains. When Stephen was being stoned, he looked to heaven and prayed, “...Lord, do not hold this sin against them...” (Acts 7:60).⁶ When you look to the cross, you find the same strength to release the pain, let go of the grudge, and walk in freedom. The power to forgive is not within your will—it flows from the One who forgave you. Jesus’ words on the cross still echo: “...Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do...” (Luke 23:34). When you forgive, you mirror the heart of God and reflect the greatest display of love the world has ever known. As Paul wrote, “...Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you...” (Ephesians 4:32). TESTIMONY: The Day I Forgave My Father Gloria grew up bitter toward her father who abandoned her family when she was 12. Years later, as a believer, she struggled with anxiety and a sense of spiritual dryness. She prayed, fasted, and served in church, yet felt a heavy weight in her heart. One Sunday, her pastor preached on Matthew 18:21-22, where Jesus told Peter to forgive “seventy times seven.” The message pierced her heart. That night, she knelt beside her bed and said through tears: “Lord, I forgive my father. I release him just as You released me at the cross.” She called her father weeks later and told him she had forgiven him. She later testified, “The peace that flooded my heart that day was indescribable. The resentment that chained me for 18 years broke instantly. I learned that forgiveness isn’t about how I feel—it’s about what Jesus already did.” Gloria’s journey shows that forgiveness heals the forgiver first. WISDOM NUGGET Forgiveness is not a feeling—it’s a cross-centered choice. (Ephesians 4:32; Luke 23:34; Colossians 3:13) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Who are you still holding in the prison of your heart that Jesus already died to free? Answer: Often it’s the person who hurt you most deeply—yet keeping them in that prison keeps you imprisoned too. Jesus already paid for their sin and yours at the cross. Release them today so that you can step into your own freedom (Hebrews 12:15). 2. What area of pain do you need to lay at the foot of the cross today? Answer: It could be betrayal, rejection, abuse, or even self-condemnation. The cross is where Jesus carried every wound. Lay it down in prayer, trusting that “...He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds...” (Psalm 147:3; Isaiah 53:5). CALL TO DECISION Today, the cross invites you to exchange bitterness for freedom. Jesus is saying, “...Come to Me… and I will give you rest...” (Matthew 11:28). You don’t have to carry that pain another day. PRAYER OF RELEASE: Lord Jesus, I surrender my hurt to You. I forgive [name or situation] just as You forgave me. I break the chains of resentment and receive Your healing peace. Help me to walk in Your love from this day forward, in Jesus' name, Amen. Now, by faith, let go and walk in the freedom Christ purchased for you. The cross has already spoken: forgiveness triumphs over offense. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write a letter (even if you never send it) to someone you need to forgive. Express the hurt honestly, then write a declaration of release in Jesus’ name at the end. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 1st October 2025 Day: 62 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS RECONCILES RELATIONSHIP Bible Verse: “...For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us... having slain the enmity thereby...”— Ephesians 2:14–16 (KJV) REFLECTION: A Bridge, Not a Barrier The cross is more than a personal redemption story—it’s God’s divine bridge for peace. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, the hostility that separated us from God and from one another was broken down. “...And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself...” — Colossians 1:20 Jesus didn’t just reconcile man to God (Romans 5:1); He also reconciled man to man. The blood of Christ tore down walls of prejudice, unforgiveness, bitterness, and resentment—whether racial, tribal, economic, marital, or spiritual. “...All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation...” — 2 Corinthians 5:18 At Calvary, Jesus united Jews and Gentiles into one family (Galatians 3:28), showing that the cross destroys the power of separation. What sin divided, God united. What hatred fractured, Christ healed. The cross turns strangers into siblings, enemies into friends, and broken relationships into testimonies of grace. If you’re harbouring offense, resentment, or division today, the cross calls you to forgive, let go, and restore. “...Bear with each other and forgive one another... Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…” — Colossians 3:13–15 True Christianity is not only peace with God but also becoming a peacemaker for others. “...Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God...” — Matthew 5:9 Don’t just wear the cross—live its message of reconciliation. REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: From Estranged Brothers to Embraced Family Simeon and Daniel, two brothers from the same Christian home, stopped speaking to each other after a bitter dispute over family property. For seven years, they ignored one another—even during family gatherings. One Good Friday, while Simeon was listening to a sermon on the power of the cross, the preacher quoted Matthew 6:14–15: “...For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses...” Simeon felt convicted and called his brother that night in tears. Daniel also confessed his hurt and bitterness. They forgave each other, prayed together, and restored their relationship. Months later, their reconciliation brought unity to their extended family, healed their mother’s depression, and inspired others in their church to mend broken relationships. The cross that reconciled them to God also reconciled them to each other. WISDOM NUGGET Horizontal peace flows from vertical reconciliation. — Romans 5:1; Colossians 3:13–15 CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Is there anyone you’ve avoided or been at odds with that God is prompting you to reconcile with? Answer: Yes. When God forgives us, He empowers us to forgive others (Ephesians 4:31–32). Avoidance keeps the wound fresh; reconciliation invites healing. Begin by praying for that person (Matthew 5:44), then reach out in humility and peace (Romans 12:18). 2. How can you practically be a bridge-builder in your home, church, or community today? Answer: By letting go of grudges (Mark 11:25). By speaking truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). By initiating peace talks instead of waiting for the other party (Matthew 18:15). By praying for unity in your home and church (John 17:21). By being willing to apologize and forgive even when you feel wronged (Proverbs 19:11). CALL TO DECISION If there’s a “wall” between you and someone else, Christ is standing between you as the bridge of reconciliation. He is saying: “First be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” — Matthew 5:23–24 Today, choose to release bitterness and embrace peace. Write that message. Make that call. Offer that apology. Extend that forgiveness. PRAY Lord Jesus, thank You for reconciling me to the Father. I surrender every offense, anger, and pride at the foot of Your cross. Heal my heart and help me be a bridge of peace. Today I choose to forgive and reconcile. In Jesus’ name, Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE Write about a time when God helped you reconcile with someone. Then note one person you need to make peace with, and ask the Holy Spirit for grace to take the first step. Your beloved in Christ, May the peace of the Cross reconcile every broken relationship and reign in your heart today. Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. Christ Leads Assembly Church |
WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 30th September 2025 Day 61 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS CHANGES HOW YOU SEE OTHERS BIble Verse: “...Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh…” 2 Corinthians 5:16 (KJV) REFLECTION: A New Lens of Love The cross does more than reconcile you to God—it reshapes how you view everyone around you. When Jesus stretched His arms on the cross, He wasn’t reaching out to just you; He was embracing all humanity—the guilty and the innocent, the strong and the weak, the sinner and the saint: “... For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved...” (John 3:17) Paul reminds us that because of Christ’s sacrifice, “we no longer know anyone according to the flesh”—that is, you stop judging by outward appearance, background, or failures (2 Corinthians 5:16). You begin to see their God-given potential: “…for ye are all one in Christ Jesus...” (Galatians 3:28) God Himself said to Samuel: “...For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart...” (1 Samuel 16:7) The cross becomes a lens of grace. It shifts your perspective: Enemies become assignments for love and prayer. Offenders become opportunities to extend mercy: “...Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another...” (Romans 12:10) Broken people become future testimonies of God’s transforming power: “...And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you...” (Ephesians 4:32) When Jesus prayed on the cross, “...Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...” (Luke 23:34), He showed us that true vision comes from mercy, not judgment. Today, let the cross reset your vision. Choose to see people not as they are in their weakness, but as Christ died for them to become. A REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: Grace in the Market Chinyere Okafor, a businesswoman, struggled to forgive her neighbour, Musa Ali, who once falsely accused her of cheating him in a deal. For years, she avoided him and even prayed for God to punish him. One Sunday, her pastor preached on the cross as God’s way of seeing people through grace. Convicted, she remembered: “...Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment...” (John 7:24) She decided to visit Musa to apologize for harbouring bitterness. To her surprise, Musa broke down in tears, confessing that he had lied out of jealousy and had been battling guilt for years. That day, both reconciled, and Musa eventually gave his life to Christ after seeing her change of heart. Chinyere says, “The cross didn’t just heal my heart—it opened my eyes to see him as a soul Christ died for.” Encouragement No heart is too hardened that the cross cannot soften it. When you choose to see others as God sees them, walls fall, relationships heal, and testimonies are born. Start today—one act of grace can rewrite someone’s story. WISDOM NUGGET: “The cross teaches you to see with heaven’s eyes.” (Romans 12:10; Ephesians 4:32) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & PRACTICAL ANSWERS 1. Are there people you’ve judged by their past instead of their potential? Answer: Yes, you often let history dictate your perception. But the cross teaches you to remember that “...if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new...” (2 Corinthians 5:17) 2. How can you choose today to love someone the cross already paid for? Answer: Begin with prayer for them as Jesus commanded: “...Love your enemies, bless them that curse you…” (Matthew 5:44) Release past offenses, speak words of blessing instead of bitterness, and look for small acts of kindness that reflect Christ’s love. CALL TO DECISION Today, choose to let the cross be your filter for relationships. Decide to forgive the unforgivable, reach out to the unreachable, and value people as priceless souls Jesus shed His blood for. Lord, give me Your eyes to see others the way You see them. Let the power of the cross change my heart toward everyone I meet. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me when I was unlovable. Help me see others through the lens of Your cross—beyond flaws and into the hope of who they are in You. Let me walk in compassion, not comparison. Heal my vision and soften my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen. DAILY AFFIRMATION I no longer see people after the flesh. Through the cross, I see with heaven’s eyes. I forgive freely, love deeply, and honour the image of God in everyone I meet. Today, I choose the lens of grace. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write down the names of two people who are difficult for you to love. Then write a prayer asking God to help you see them through the eyes of the cross. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 29th September 2025 Day 60 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS STILL ENOUGH Bible Verse: “...And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness...” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV) REFLECTION: Timeless Power, Endless Grace Trends change. Cultures shift. Solutions evolve. But the cross remains unshaken—eternally relevant, eternally sufficient. When Paul cried out three times for deliverance from his thorn in the flesh, God didn’t introduce a new method or ritual. He simply pointed Paul back to grace—“...My grace is sufficient for you...” (2 Corinthians 12:8–9). That grace flows from Calvary, where Jesus declared, “...It is finished...” (John 19:30). The cross is not a past event buried in history; it’s the living fountain of power for every believer today. As Hebrews 13:8 assures us: “...Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever...” The same cross that once saved your soul is the same cross that can sustain your journey. You don’t need to reinvent spiritual wheels or chase after the latest religious trends. Healing still flows where the stripes were laid on His back (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24). Peace still comes from the punishment He bore (Isaiah 53:5). Breakthrough still springs from the victory He won (Colossians 2:14–15). Identity is still defined at the cross, where your old self was crucified (Galatians 2:20). The world will always offer “new” answers to age-old spiritual needs—self-help fads, empty philosophies, or even mystical shortcuts—but the old rugged cross still bleeds power. The blood still speaks better things than that of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). The grace still flows to the weakest heart. The cross is not a relic—it is your rescue (Psalm 34:17), your refuge (Psalm 46:1), your restoration (Joel 2:25–26). A REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: Grace in the Storm Evelyn, a young mother of two, faced a devastating season: her husband lost his job, their first child was diagnosed with a chronic illness, and the family home was threatened by foreclosure. Fear and anxiety consumed her, and she was tempted to run after every “prophetic solution” and quick fixes friends suggested. One night, while crying out to God, she opened her Bible and stumbled upon Galatians 6:14: “...But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…” That night she decided to stop chasing shadows and fix her eyes on what Jesus already finished. She began to pray simply, remembering that Jesus had already borne her sorrows (Isaiah 53:4) and her family’s shame (Hebrews 12:2). In the weeks that followed, peace that beyond common sense filled her heart (Philippians 4:7). Doors of provision began to open unexpectedly—a neighbour paid part of their mortgage, her husband received a new job offer, and her child’s health stabilized. Evelyn’s testimony is this: “I didn’t get a new formula; I rediscovered the power of the cross. It was enough then, and it’s still enough now.” Encouragement For You If you’re in the middle of your own storm, take heart—what held Evelyn together will hold you too. The cross hasn’t lost its power. Keep your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2); His grace is still sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). What feels impossible today is already finished at the cross. Hold on—your story can end in peace, provision, and restoration. WISDOM NUGGET You don’t need something new—you need the cross anew. (Galatians 6:14; Colossians 2:10) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Q: Have you allowed the cross to become common in your heart? How can you renew your wonder? A: Many believers lose their first love for the cross (Revelation 2:4–5). Renewing your wonder starts by remembering where you were when grace found you (Ephesians 2:1–5), reflecting on the price Jesus paid (1 Peter 1:18–19), and returning to daily gratitude through prayer and communion (1 Corinthians 11:23–26). 2. Q: In what current challenge do you need to reapply the sufficiency of the cross? A: Whether it’s fear, sickness, financial strain, or guilt, the cross remains God’s answer. If it’s fear, remember that Jesus’ perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). If it’s sickness, claim the healing stripes of Jesus (Isaiah 53:5). If it’s guilt, remember there is now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). The cross has already addressed every burden—believe it and receive it afresh. CALL TO DECISION The cross demands more than admiration—it calls for surrender. Will you lay down your striving and trust again in what Christ finished? Today, echo the words of Paul in Galatians 2:20: “...I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me....” PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I return to the foot of the cross. Forgive me for chasing what You’ve already provided. I believe again that Your grace is sufficient for me. I surrender my fears, my pain, and my striving. Let the power of Your cross be made real in every area of my life. In Jesus name, Amen.” Halleluyah! DAILY AFFIRMATION The cross is enough for me—its grace sustains me, its power upholds me, and I live in Christ’s victory today. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write about a situation where you looked elsewhere for help. Then declare in writing how you are re-centering your trust in the cross. Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 28th September 2025 Day 59 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 28th September 2025 Day 59 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS GOD’S RESCUE MISSION Bible Verse: “...For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost...” Luke 19:10 (KJV) REFLECTION: The Divine Search and Rescue Before you ever thought of seeking God, He was already searching for you. Heaven launched the greatest rescue operation in history—the Cross. Jesus did not come merely to improve morals or offer inspiration; He came to recover what had been hijacked—you and me. “...For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly… God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us...” — Romans 5:6-8 Sin held humanity hostage (Romans 6:23), Satan claimed dominion through deception (John 8:34), and death became an unbreakable chain. But God refused to watch His creation perish. “…who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world…” — Galatians 1:4 At the cross, Jesus entered enemy territory, carried the punishment we deserved: “…he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities… and with his stripes we are healed...” — Isaiah 53:5 In doing so, He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into His kingdom: “…who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” — Colossians 1:13-14 By His death, He disarmed and defeated the rulers of darkness: “…having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” — Colossians 2:15 Through His cross, Jesus also broke the fear of death: “…that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” — Hebrews 2:14-15 Jesus declared His sacrifice was deliberate: “...No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself…” — John 10:18 He saw you personally when you were sinking: “...He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings...” — Psalm 40:2-3 You were not an afterthought—you were the reason. “…the Son of God… loved me, and gave himself for me.” — Galatians 2:20 Now, having been rescued, you are enlisted in the mission to rescue others: “…and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation… Now then we are ambassadors for Christ…” 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: From the Street to the Savior Mr Samson Oke grew up in a rough neighborhood, drawn early into drugs and crime. Arrested several times, he nearly lost his life in a gang clash. One night in a detention cell, he heard another inmate humming the hymn “Jesus Paid It All.” That night Mr Samson prayed: “Lord, if You still want me, rescue me.” Months later, after his release, he heard a preacher read Luke 19:10 — “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” He wept as he realized Jesus had been pursuing him even when he was running the streets. Today Mr Samson leads a prison-outreach team, telling inmates that the cross is God’s rescue mission—and no one is beyond His reach. WISDOM NUGGET The cross is love on a mission, and you were the target.— Romans 5:6-8; 1 Peter 3:18 CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Q: Do you see yourself as someone who has been rescued with a purpose? A: Yes. Scripture says, “But ye are a chosen generation… that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” — 1 Peter 2:9. My rescue is not the end; it’s the start of my assignment as an ambassador of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). 2. Q: Who around you needs to be introduced to the rescue power of the cross? A: My unsaved relatives, neighbours caught in addictions, and colleagues burdened by guilt. God has placed me where I am to point them to the Rescuer. CALL TO DECISION Jesus has already launched His rescue mission for you. The question is—will you accept His outstretched hand today? “...Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation...” — 2 Corinthians 6:2 If you have never surrendered to Him, pray sincerely: Lord Jesus, I believe You came to rescue me. I confess my sins and receive Your forgiveness. Deliver me from the power of darkness and give me a new life in You, in Jesus name. Amen. DAILY AFFIRMATION Through the cross of Jesus Christ, I am rescued, redeemed, and restored. I am no longer a captive of sin or fear. I live today as a witness of God’s saving love, and I extend that love to others. Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write about how Jesus found you—your rescue story. Then list one person you're praying will experience that same rescue. Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. Christ Leads Assembly Church |
WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 27th September 2025 Day 58 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS UNITES HEAVEN AND EARTH Bible Verse: “…And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18 (KJV) REFLECTION: Bridging the Divide Before the cross, sin created a vast gulf between heaven and earth, cutting humanity off from the presence and favour of God: “...But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you…” Isaiah 59:2 (KJV) But when Christ laid down His life on the cross, that gulf was bridged. “...And having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself… whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven...” Colossians 1:20 (KJV) The cross became the divine meeting point — the sacred and the sinful met, grace descended, and glory ascended. “...For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus...” 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV) On the cross, Jesus brought heaven’s will into earth’s reality: “…Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven...” Matthew 6:10 (KJV) His death satisfied divine justice (Romans 3:25–26), His resurrection confirmed divine authority (Ephesians 1:20–23), and His exaltation united both realms under His lordship: “...That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth…” — Philippians 2:10 (KJV) Now, every prayer, declaration, and obedience done in His name on earth carries heavenly endorsement: “...Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven...” — Matthew 18:18 (KJV) Standing at the foot of the cross is standing where eternity kisses time, and where earthly struggles find divine solutions. REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: Heaven’s Intervention in a Hopeless Case Deacon Aransiola John, a small-scale trader, had been battling with a business debt that pushed him to the brink of despair. He often prayed but felt God was distant. One evening, during a Good Friday service, the preacher said, “The cross has united heaven and earth—take your burden there.” With tears, John knelt at the altar, surrendering his worry to Christ. That week, a former client who had disappeared for years unexpectedly called and repaid an old debt that cleared John’s loan entirely. He testified, “At the cross, I felt heaven move on my behalf. I understood that when Jesus said all power is given to Him in heaven and on earth, He meant even my little business mattered to heaven.” This story proves that the cross is not just history—it is heaven’s current bridge to your life’s challenges. Whatever your struggle today, the same power that met John at the cross is ready to meet you. WISDOM NUGGET: What the cross touches on earth is honoured in heaven. (Ephesians 1:20–23; Colossians 1:20) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Q: Do you live with the awareness that heaven backs your prayers and obedience because of the cross? A: Many believers pray as if they must convince God to listen, forgetting that the cross has already reconciled us to Him (Hebrews 4:16). Living with this awareness means praying boldly in Jesus’ name, confident that your requests have access to the Father because of the blood of Christ (John 14:13–14). 2. Q: How can you better align your earthly actions with heaven’s purposes? A: By seeking things above and living with eternity in view. Paul reminds you: “...If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above… Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth...” Colossians 3:1–2 (KJV) This alignment comes through consistent prayer, obedience to God’s Word, and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide daily choices (Romans 12:2; Galatians 5:25). CALL TO DECISION The cross has already united heaven and earth, but its benefits flow only to those who accept Christ’s sacrifice and live under His authority. Will you keep living as if you’re disconnected from heaven, or will you step into the reality that the cross has made you a citizen of both realms? If you have not fully surrendered to Jesus, now is the time. PRAY: Lord Jesus, I believe You bridged the gap between heaven and earth for me. I surrender my life, my struggles, and my future to You. Rule over my heart, and let heaven’s will prevail in my life. In Jesus name, Amen. Halleluyah! When you’re in Christ and facing challenges: PRAY: Lord Jesus, I lay my burdens at Your cross. Unite heaven’s power with my struggles. Grant me strength, peace, and victory. I trust Your authority over every challenge. Rule over my heart, and let heaven’s will prevail in my life. In Jesus name, Amen. Today, let the cross be your bridge to divine solutions and your anchor to heaven’s authority. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Describe a moment when you sensed heaven responding to your prayers or actions. What role did your faith in the cross play in that experience? WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 26th September 2025 Day 57 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS MAKES ALL THINGS NEW Bible Verse: "...And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful..." — Revelation 21:5 (KJV) REFLECTION: From Brokenness to Beauty The Cross is not just about forgiveness—it’s about transformation. When Christ took your place at Calvary, He didn’t only cancel your past; He inaugurated your future. “...Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new...” 2 Corinthians 5:17. “...A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you...” Ezekiel 36:26–27. Every broken piece, every shattered dream, every failed effort finds restoration at the foot of the Cross. The God who once spoke, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3), now declares over your life, “Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5). Through the Cross: Your soul is renewed (Psalm 23:3). Your mind is transformed (Romans 12:2). Your relationships can be healed (Colossians 3:13–14). Your purpose is restored (Jeremiah 29:11). This is not a cosmetic change—it is a spiritual rebirth (John 3:3). Newness in Christ means your identity, destiny, and eternity are redefined. You are not recycled—you are reborn. And it all starts where Jesus bled and rose again. REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: Brother Benjamin Oyelade grew up in a broken home. By age 20, he was deep into drugs, street fights, and hopeless living. He said, “I thought my story was finished, that I would die wasted.” One Sunday, a friend dragged him to church. The preacher declared 2 Corinthians 5:17: “...If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature...” Samuel wept as he surrendered his life at the altar. That day, he said he felt “a heavy chain break inside.” Today, Samuel is a youth leader, counseling others out of addiction. His life is proof that the Cross makes all things new. WISDOM NUGGET: The cross is the doorway to divine renewal (2 Corinthians 5:17; Ezekiel 36:26–27). CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: 1. What area of your life do you need to surrender so God can make it new? (Romans 12:1–2) Answer: I must surrender my heart, my habits, and my hidden struggles as a living sacrifice to God. Transformation begins when I stop conforming to the old patterns and allow His Spirit to renew my mind daily. 2. Are you living in the truth that you are a new creation, or are you still identifying with your past? (Galatians 6:15) Answer: I choose to see myself as God sees me. My past failures do not define me; Christ does. By faith, I walk as a new creation, embracing grace, power, and purpose through the Cross. CALL TO DECISION: Will you keep carrying the weight of the old life, or will you step into the newness Christ has already purchased for you? The Cross is waiting. Your new beginning is here. DAILY AFFIRMATION: Through the Cross, I am made new. My past is gone, my present is redeemed, and my future is secured in Christ. I am a new creation, reborn for His glory. Amen. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You that through the power of the cross, You make all things new. I surrender my broken pieces and welcome Your restoring grace. Rebuild what was ruined, revive what was dead, and renew what has been worn out. I receive the freshness of Your Spirit today. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Hallelujah. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Take 5 minutes today to journal the old habit God delivered you from, then write down one area you’re still trusting Him to renew. Pray over it. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 25th September 2025 Day 56 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS QUALIFIES THE UNQUALIFIED Bible Verse: "...Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins..." Colossians 1:12–14 (KJV) REFLECTION: You’re Qualified by the Cross The cross is God’s declaration that you are no longer disqualified. Before Christ, you were unworthy—not because of lack of effort, but because of the stain of sin. But now, because of the blood shed on Calvary, you are “made meet” (qualified) to inherit what only grace could secure. "...For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus..." (Romans 3:23–24). You don’t earn your place in God’s kingdom; you receive it. Christ’s sacrifice delivers you from darkness and translates you into His glorious light. “...But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us... hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus...” (Ephesians 2:4–6). Through the cross, your guilt is erased (Isaiah 1:18), your past is pardoned (Micah 7:18–19), and your destiny is rewritten (Jeremiah 29:11). Every voice that says you are not good enough, not holy enough, not strong enough—has been silenced by the cross. “...Not that we are sufficient of ourselves... but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament...” (2 Corinthians 3:5–6). God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called (1 Corinthians 1:26–29). And the cross is the certificate of that qualification. REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY Sister Hannah Aruleba grew up in a family where she was constantly told she would amount to nothing. She dropped out of school, got into the wrong company, and carried the heavy label of “failure.” One Sunday, she heard the preacher declare from Hebrews 10:19–22 that because of the blood of Jesus, we have boldness to enter God’s presence. That day, she realized she was not a rejected outcast but a beloved daughter qualified by the cross. Her life took a new turn. She went back to school, started a small business, and today testifies that “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Hannah’s story reminds you: The cross does not just forgive; it qualifies and empowers you for destiny. WISDOM NUGGET The cross turns “not enough” into “more than enough.” (2 Corinthians 3:5–6; Ephesians 2:4–6) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. What areas of your life have you believed you’re not qualified for God’s use? Jeremiah 1:6–8 reminds you that God told Jeremiah, “Say not, I am a child... for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee.” Answer: Many feel unqualified due to their past mistakes, lack of education, or weaknesses. But God reminds us that He equips those He sends. Your weakness is not a disqualification—it is an opportunity for His strength to be revealed (2 Corinthians 12:9). 2. How does knowing you’re qualified by the cross affect your confidence in walking with God? Hebrews 10:19–22 says you can come boldly by the blood of Jesus. Answer: It gives boldness to pray, courage to serve, and assurance that I belong in His family. I no longer approach God as a beggar, but as an heir of the Kingdom (Romans 8:16–17). This confidence transforms fear into faith and shame into joy. CALL TO DECISION Beloved, the cross has already spoken on your behalf. You are no longer unqualified—the blood of Jesus has made you worthy. Stop disqualifying yourself where God has already qualified you. Today, take a step of faith: Believe that you are accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6). Walk boldly in your new identity. Say yes to God’s call, knowing that His grace is enough for you. PRAY: Lord Jesus, I thank You for qualifying me through Your blood. I renounce every lie of unworthiness and receive my inheritance as a child of God. Help me to walk boldly in Your calling, by the power of the cross. In Jesus name. Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE: List the areas where you have felt disqualified or unworthy. Then, write a declaration of faith over each one based on the truth of Colossians 1:12–14. Remember, the cross is not just history—it is your present qualification and eternal guarantee of victory. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 23rd September 2025 Day 54 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS A SIGNPOST, NOT A STOP SIGN Bible Verse: "...And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him..." — Mark 16:6 (KJV) REFLECTION: The Cross Points Beyond Itself The cross is not the final destination—it’s the beginning of a divine journey. Though the world viewed it as an end, heaven saw it as a transition point. Jesus did not remain nailed to wood or trapped in a tomb. He rose, victorious and alive! The cross is a signpost that points us toward resurrection life. It’s where death was defeated and where new direction began. As Paul declared: “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?... Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:55–57). For the believer, the cross is not a place to stop and mourn, but a place to rise and move forward in power, purpose, and promise. “...Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God...” (Hebrews 12:2). This means the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you today. “...But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you...” (Romans 8:11). Jesus Himself assures you: “...I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die...” (John 11:25–26). Many believers stop at the pain of the cross but never walk into the joy of the resurrection. Don’t let your spiritual life stay crucified without being resurrected. The tomb is empty so your future can be full. Let the cross send you onward into the victory Christ already secured. REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: Sister Grace Ojonla had been living in guilt and shame after years of addiction. She would always pray at the cross, asking for forgiveness, but she never believed she could live in freedom. One day, while reading Romans 6:4—“...Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead... even so we also should walk in newness of life...”—the Holy Spirit opened her eyes. She realized the cross was not her prison but her passageway. She accepted Christ’s resurrection power over her life, and her addictions broke. Today, she testifies: “The cross forgave me, but the resurrection freed me.” Encouragement for You Just like Sister Grace, you don’t have to remain at the place of guilt, shame, or bondage. The cross has already forgiven you, but the resurrection has set you free to live a brand-new life. If God could break the chains of addiction for her, He can also break yours—no matter what it is. The cross is not your prison; it is your passageway into freedom. Rise and walk in the power of Christ’s resurrection, for your story too will become a testimony of victory and newness of life. WISDOM NUGGET: The cross points forward—to resurrection, not resignation (John 11:25–26). CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Are you living like Jesus is still on the cross or like He is risen and reigning? (Revelation 1:18) Answer: Many Christians live as if Jesus is still crucified—always in defeat, guilt, and mourning. But Jesus declared, “...I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore...” To live as if He is risen means walking in freedom, victory, joy, and boldness, knowing the resurrected Christ reigns in us. 2. What area of your life needs to move forward from the pain of the cross into the joy of resurrection? (Philippians 3:10–11) Answer: For some, it may be unforgiveness; for others, fear, failure, or a broken past. Paul longed to “know him, and the power of his resurrection.” This means not only identifying with Christ’s sufferings but also rising in the newness of life He gives. Every area that feels dead—dreams, health, marriage, finances—must be surrendered so that resurrection power can bring new life. CALL TO DECISION Beloved, the cross is not where your story ends—it’s where your victory begins. Don’t remain at the place of pain when God is calling you into power. Don’t keep mourning at the tomb when the stone has been rolled away. Will you rise today and walk in the power of the resurrection? Will you let the cross point you forward instead of holding you back? PRAY: Lord Jesus, thank You for the cross, but thank You even more for the empty tomb. I refuse to live as though You are still crucified. Today, I step into resurrection life, victory, and purpose. Let every dead area of my life rise again, in Jesus’ name. Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE: What forward direction is the cross pointing you toward today? Write a faith declaration that leaves the grave behind and embraces the power of the risen Christ (Colossians 3:1–2). WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 22nd September 2025 Day 53 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 22nd September 2025 Day 53 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS THE FOUNTAIN OF JOY Bible Verse: "...Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God..." Hebrews 12:2 (KJV) REFLECTION: Where Sorrow Ends and Joy Begins The cross, though marked by pain, was endured for a purpose far greater—joy. Jesus didn’t suffer aimlessly. He saw the joy of your redemption, your deliverance, and your eternal life—and that joy fueled His endurance. The cross was sorrowful, but it became the womb of everlasting joy. As Scripture says, “...Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning...” (Psalm 30:5). The morning of resurrection turned the darkest night of Calvary into the dawn of hope. Jesus Himself declared: “...Ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy...” (John 16:20–22). Paul reminds us: “...Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice...” (Philippians 4:4). This is not circumstantial joy, but cross-born joy—unshakable, untouchable, and eternal. The cross didn’t just deal with your sin—it infused your spirit with resurrection joy. This is why Isaiah 61:3 declares that God gives us “...the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness...” True joy flows from the understanding that you are loved, forgiven, and secured in Christ. It is joy that sings in suffering, rests in uncertainty, and triumphs in trials. REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: Joy Through the Cross Sister Deborah Adeojo had gone through years of depression after losing her husband and her job in the same year. She said, “I thought my life was over, and all I had left was sorrow.” One Sunday, during worship, she heard the message of the cross in a fresh way: that Jesus bore her sorrows and gave her joy in exchange (Isaiah 53:4). That day, she prayed at the altar, and the peace of God swept over her heart. Months later, she testified with tears of joy: “The pain is still real, but it no longer controls me. I now wake up every morning with a song in my heart. The cross didn’t just save me—it gave me back my joy.” Her life became proof of Psalm 16:11: “...In thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore...” Beloved, your story is not over at the point of sorrow—the cross writes a new chapter of joy. What the enemy meant to bury you in, Christ has turned into a testimony of His joy and peace. If He gave Deborah a new song, He can give you one too—because the cross is still the fountain of joy today. WISDOM NUGGET: The cross is where sorrow ends and joy begins. (Psalm 30:5) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Have you allowed the joy of salvation to replace the sorrow of your past? “...To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning...” (Isaiah 61:3). Answer: When you accept Christ, the past no longer defines you. The joy of salvation becomes your new identity. To allow that joy means releasing past hurts at the cross and embracing the new song God puts in your mouth (Psalm 40:3). 2. What does it mean to live with cross-born joy in a joyless world? “...Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice...” (Philippians 4:4). Answer: It means your joy is not based on shifting circumstances, but anchored in Christ’s finished work. In a joyless world filled with fear, pain, and anxiety, cross-born joy makes you a testimony that Christ is alive within you (Nehemiah 8:10 – “the joy of the Lord is your strength”). CALL TO DECISION Beloved, joy is not found in wealth, pleasure, or success—it is found in Christ and His cross. The world offers temporary happiness, but the cross gives eternal joy. Today, you can decide: To lay down your sorrows at the foot of the cross. To receive the oil of joy that only Jesus gives. To live as a carrier of cross-born joy in a world that is desperate for hope. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You for enduring the cross for the joy of my salvation. Fill me with that same joy today—a joy that is stronger than pain, deeper than circumstances, and anchored in eternal truth. Let Your joy be my strength. In Jesus' name, Amen. (Nehemiah 8:10) EXPLORATIVE CUE: Describe a moment when the joy of the cross carried you through a painful situation. Then write a declaration of joy grounded in your salvation. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 21st September 2025 Day 52 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS MAKES YOU A NEW PERSON, NOT JUST A BETTER ONE Bible Verse: "...I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me..." Galatians 2:20 (KJV) REFLECTION: Born Again, Not Upgraded The cross is not God’s strategy for self-improvement—it is His solution for total transformation. When you came to the cross, the old you didn’t get polished—it died. “...Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed…” (Romans 6:6). And in its place, Christ came alive within you. You are not just a better version of your former self. You are a completely new creation—reborn by the Spirit, not reformed by effort: “...Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new...” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Religion may teach behaviour change, but the cross initiates identity change. It’s not about doing more for God; it’s about allowing Christ to live through you: “...For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God...” (Colossians 3:3). Your new life is not driven by performance but by presence—the indwelling Christ who empowers every step. Stop striving to improve what God already replaced. Instead, embrace who you’ve become in Him. “...For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ...” (Galatians 3:27) REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY A young man once shared his struggle with addiction and anger. For years, he tried self-help books, accountability groups, and strict routines to "improve" himself. Nothing worked for long. He was always relapsing, always frustrated. But the day he truly surrendered to Christ at the cross, he testified: “It felt like the man who always failed finally died. I wasn’t just trying harder—I was finally free.” His old cravings lost their grip because he no longer lived in his own strength. He discovered that Christ in him was not making him “better”—He had made him new. His story reminds you that victory is not in striving harder but in surrendering deeper. What Christ did for him, He can do for you.” WISDOM NUGGET: The cross doesn’t upgrade your life—it replaces it. (Ezekiel 36:26) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. In what areas of life are you still trying to fix what God already replaced? Many still try to fix anger, fear, or sin through sheer willpower. But Romans 6:11 says, “...Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord...” You don’t fight as the old man—you live as the new creation. Stop patching up what’s already crucified. 2. How can you surrender daily to the Christ who now lives in you? By practicing Colossians 3:3–4: “...For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God… When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory...” Daily surrender means dying to self-will and saying, “Christ, live through me today.” It’s a lifestyle of dependence—prayer, Word meditation, and obedience to the Spirit. CALL TO DECISION Beloved, you don’t need a spiritual upgrade—you need a spiritual rebirth. The cross is God’s invitation to bury the old and rise in the new. Stop struggling to reform what God has already crucified. Today, make a choice: To stop patching your old self, and instead fully embrace your new life in Christ. To let go of performance and lean on the presence of the One who lives in you. To declare, like Paul, “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.” Will you decide today to stop living as the "old you" and embrace your true identity in Christ? PRAYER: Father, thank You for the finished work of the cross. I declare that my old self is crucified, and Christ now lives in me. Help me to stop striving to improve what You’ve already transformed. Teach me to walk boldly in the new identity You’ve given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen. (Romans 12:1–2) DAILY AFFIRMATION: I am not the old me patched up—I am a brand-new creation in Christ. My past is buried, my future is secure, and today I live by the life of Christ in me. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write a farewell to your old self (Ephesians 4:22). Write a bold declaration of your new identity in Christ (Ephesians 4:24). Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. Christ Leads Assembly Church |
WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 20th September 2025 Day 51 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS BREAKS EVERY CHAIN Bible Verse: “...If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed...” — John 8:36 (KJV) REFLECTION: The cross Is the Key That Breaks Every Chain There’s no bondage too strong, no addiction too deep, no guilt too heavy that the cross cannot destroy. “...So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed...” (John 8:36) At Calvary, Jesus didn’t just pay for our sins—He broke the power behind them. His blood didn’t just cleanse—it conquered. “...Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross...” (Colossians 2:15) Chains come in many forms: cycles of sin, emotional wounds, destructive habits, paralyzing shame, and secret fears. But the cross speaks louder than your chains. It declares you free indeed. “...For we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin....” (Romans 6:6) Freedom isn’t a future promise—it’s a present reality when you believe. Don’t live as if the chains are still locked when Jesus already shattered them. “...Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage...” (Galatians 5:1) The prison doors are open—walk out in faith. Let the cross be the final word over every lie the enemy whispers to hold you captive. A SHORT REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY A young man battled addiction to alcohol for over 10 years. He tried rehabilitation programs, counseling, and even relocating, but the chains always pulled him back. One night, he walked into a church service where the message of the cross was preached. As the pastor declared, “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed” (John 8:36), he cried out, “Lord, if You broke every chain on the cross, then let my chain be broken too.” From that night, he lost the taste for alcohol. Today, he is not only free but also leading others out of bondage through the message of the cross. WISDOM NUGGET Chains break where the cross is believed. “...Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?...” (Isaiah 58:6) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. What chains have you accepted as normal that Christ already broke? “...Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin...” (Romans 6:6, KJV) Answer: Many believers unknowingly carry chains such as fear, guilt, bitterness, unforgiveness, or secret sins, thinking they are impossible to break. But the cross has already destroyed their power. The moment you received Christ, your old life was crucified with Him. Those chains are not your identity anymore. Through faith in the cross, you can reject them and live as a free child of God. 2. How can you walk daily in the freedom the cross provides? “...Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage...” (Galatians 5:1, KJV) Answer: Walking in freedom requires intentional choices: Stand fast—remind yourself daily of what Jesus did on the cross. Refuse entanglement—don’t return to old habits, friendships, or environments that enslaved you. Stay rooted in the Word and prayer—freedom must be maintained through fellowship with God. Live in accountability and obedience—surround yourself with godly influences that encourage liberty in Christ. True freedom is not just being delivered once; it’s choosing daily to remain in Christ and reject every attempt of the enemy to re-chain you. CALL TO DECISION Beloved, the cross is not a decoration—it is your declaration of freedom. Don’t carry chains that Jesus already broke. Today, make a decision to believe in the finished work of Christ. Step out of every prison of sin, fear, or shame and walk into liberty. “...Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new...” (2 Corinthians 5:17) Will you receive the freedom Christ has already purchased for you at the cross? The door is open—walk out today. PRAYER Lord Jesus, thank You for breaking the chains that once held me bound. I refuse to live like a prisoner when You’ve declared me free. I receive and walk in the liberty purchased at the cross. Empower me daily to live above every bondage. In Jesus’ name, Amen. (2 Corinthians 3:17) EXPLORATIVE CUE List any “chains” in your life that still try to control you. Then write a freedom declaration based on what the cross has done for you.(Colossians 2:14–15) Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. Christ Leads Assembly Church |
WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 19th September 2025 Day 50 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS FREES YOU FROM FEAR Bible Verse: "...There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love..." – 1 John 4:18 (KJV) REFLECTION: Fear Meets Its Master at the Cross Fear is one of the enemy’s most effective weapons. It paralyses purpose, distorts identity, and shuts down faith. But at the cross, fear was forever disarmed. How? Because perfect love was displayed in its highest form—Jesus laying down His life for us. “...There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love...” – 1 John 4:18 (NIV) At Calvary, perfect love was revealed. Jesus didn’t just die for us—He died as us. Every fear—fear of death, judgment, rejection, failure—was nailed to the cross with Him. The cross declares once and for all that: You are loved — without condition You are covered — without limit You are protected — without fear Fear says: “You are not safe.” The cross answers: “You are eternally secure.” Fear says: “You’ll be punished.” The cross replies: “Jesus took your punishment.” “....But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us...” – Romans 5:8 (NIV) REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: From Panic to Peace There was a season in my life when anxiety gripped me daily—especially about my health and finances. One morning, during a time of prayer and reflection, I read Isaiah 41:10: “...Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand...” Something shifted in me. I saw the cross—not just as the place Jesus died, but the place my fear died, too. Day by day, I began declaring God’s promises out loud, and peace replaced panic. It’s not that fear never knocks—it’s that I now know how to answer: with the power of the cross. BIBLICAL SHIELD AGAINST FEAR Every time fear tries to re-enter your mind—whether fear of rejection, failure, loss, or the future—look again to the cross. There, perfect love proved that nothing can separate you from God's presence and promises: “...For I am convinced that neither death nor life... nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord...” – Romans 8:38–39 (NIV) The cross is not only your place of redemption—it is your shield against fear. WISDOM NUGGET: “...The cross is fear’s permanent eviction notice...” – Isaiah 41:10 CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & SCRIPTURAL REFLECTION 2. What fears still torment you, despite what Christ did on the cross? “...The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?...” – Psalm 27:1 Reflect: Name those fears, and lay them at the foot of the cross. God’s light exposes every shadow. 2. How can meditating on the love of God expressed through the cross help you walk in courage? “...But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us...” – Romans 5:8 Reflect: The more you dwell on His love, the less room fear has to dwell in you. Fear cannot coexist with perfect love. CALL TO DECISION: Step Out of Fear, Step Into Freedom Are you tired of living beneath the weight of fear? The cross is your turning point. Today, Jesus invites you to exchange fear for freedom, shame for security, and panic for peace. Make a conscious decision: To believe that His love is enough To declare that fear no longer has dominion over your mind To live empowered by the cross, not enslaved by fear PRAYER OF FREEDOM FROM FEAR Father, thank You for the cross, where fear was defeated and love was displayed. I renounce every lie that fear has spoken to me. I receive the perfect love of Christ, and I declare that I am secure, covered, and fearless in Jesus. From today, I will walk in faith and not fear—because Your love leads me. In Jesus’ name, Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE Write down every fear that keeps you from living boldly. Then, write a declaration of truth based on the cross to silence each fear. “... So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?...’” – Hebrews 13:6 (NIV) Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. Christ Leads Assembly Church |
WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 18th September 2025 Day 49 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS TRANSFORMS ENEMIES INTO FRIENDS Bible Verse: "...For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life..." Romans 5:10 (KJV) REFLECTION: From Strangers to Sons Before the cross, we were not simply far away from God—we were in active rebellion against Him, living as enemies of His holiness. “...And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled...” (Colossians 1:21). Yet, the love of God chose reconciliation over retaliation. He didn’t wait for us to repent before reaching out. Instead, He reached down through the cross and offered peace where there was hostility. The cross is not just about forgiveness—it is about full reconciliation. It changes your status, position, and relationship: 1. From sinners to sons— “...But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son... to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons...” (Galatians 4:4–5). 2. From strangers to citizens of heaven— “...Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God...” (Ephesians 2:19). 3. From enemies to friends of God— “...Henceforth I call you not servants... but I have called you friends...” (John 15:15). Now through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, you are no longer outsiders trying to earn God’s favour; you are insiders, seated at His table—not by merit, but by mercy. This reconciliation with God also becomes the model for how you live with others. The cross compels you to forgive, to tear down walls of bitterness, and to build bridges of peace. “...For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us...” (Ephesians 2:14). And again, “...And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby...” (Ephesians 2:16). Where there was hostility, the cross brings harmony. Where there was separation, it creates family. Truly, “...the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed...” (Isaiah 53:5). LIFE TESTIMONY: A young man, once a violent gang member, was known for hatred and revenge. He lived in constant conflict with both the law and his community. But one day, at a crusade, he heard the message of the cross. He realized that though he was an enemy of God, Christ still died for him. That day, he surrendered his life to Christ. Years later, the same man who once carried weapons now carries a Bible. He reconciled with his estranged parents, forgave those who betrayed him, and became a preacher of peace in his neighbourhood. The cross didn’t just save him from sin—it turned his hostility into harmony. WISDOM NUGGET: The cross turns hostility into harmony. (Ephesians 2:13–16) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Are you living like a friend of God or still thinking like an outsider? (John 15:15 – “I have called you friends...”) * A friend of God walks in intimacy, obedience, and peace, not fear and distance. 2. Who do you need to reconcile with, as a reflection of Christ’s reconciling love for you? (2 Corinthians 5:18–19 – “God... hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation”) * If God forgave us when we were enemies, you cannot hold grudges against others. CALL TO DECISION The cross demands a response. You cannot remain neutral. Today, you must decide: Will you remain an outsider, or will you accept Christ’s invitation to friendship and sonship? Will you carry bitterness, or will you let the cross empower you to forgive and reconcile? PRAYER OF DECISION: Lord Jesus, I thank You for dying for me while I was still Your enemy. Today, I accept Your friendship, Your sonship, and Your peace. I choose to forgive others as You have forgiven me. By Your cross, transform hostility in me into harmony, and let my life reflect the power of reconciliation. In Jesus name. Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write a letter of gratitude to God for making you His friend. Then, list any relationships where reconciliation is needed and pray for grace to take a step. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 17th September 2025 Day 48 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS THE END OF SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS BIble Verse: "...Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;..." Titus 3:5 (KJV) REFLECTION: Mercy Over Merit Human nature craves recognition. We want to feel we’ve done enough, prayed enough, fasted enough, or given enough to earn God’s approval. But Scripture reminds us plainly: “...For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast....” (Ephesians 2:8–9). The cross interrupts your prideful attempts to prove yourself. It silences the voice of comparison and performance. At Calvary, Jesus declared, “...It is finished...” (John 19:30). Finished means nothing left for us to add, no personal righteousness that could increase or complete what He already accomplished. Self-righteousness dies at the cross because only Christ’s righteousness is enough. Paul confessed this truth when he said, “...And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith...” (Philippians 3:9). I once counseled a young man who had grown weary of striving. He fasted constantly, prayed long hours, and tried to obey every rule he could find. Yet, deep inside, he felt empty and condemned, believing he was never good enough for God. One evening, while reading Romans 5:6—“...For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly...”—he broke down in tears. It suddenly dawned on him: Jesus did not wait for him to become perfect; He died while he was still weak and lost. That night, the young man prayed a different prayer—not of works, but of surrender. He said, “Lord, I can’t earn this. I simply receive your mercy” From that day, peace flooded his heart, and the burden of self-righteous striving lifted. That is what the cross does: it kills the exhausting cycle of “trying” and births the freedom of “trusting.” WISDOM NUGGET: The cross is the cure for spiritual pride. (Romans 3:27 — “Where is boasting then? It is excluded.”) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: 1. Are there any areas where you’re relying on your works instead of God’s grace? (Galatians 2:21) — “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” Answer: Yes, every time I think my prayers, fasting, or service make me acceptable to God, I frustrate His grace. I must return to the cross as my only ground of righteousness. 2. How can you let the message of the cross shape how you view yourself and others? (Luke 18:9–14, the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector). Answer: By seeing myself as the tax collector who needed mercy, I learn to stop looking down on others. The cross humbles me and teaches me to extend the same mercy I have received. CALL TO DECISION Today, the cross invites you to lay down your pride, your striving, and your self-righteousness. Stop trying to earn what has already been freely given. Jesus has paid it all. Will you surrender your “works” at the foot of the cross and receive the gift of grace? Will you choose to live not in comparison, but in the joy of mercy? PRAY THIS SIMPLE PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that my righteousness is as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). I come to the cross today. I lay down my pride, my works, and my striving. I receive Your mercy, Your grace, and Your finished work. From now on, I will rest in Your righteousness alone. In Jesus name. Amen. The cross ends self-righteousness—but it begins true freedom. “...For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him...” 2 Corinthians 5:21 EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write about a time when you tried to earn God's favour or approval through works. Then, describe how understanding the cross changed that mindset. (Philippians 3:7–9) Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. Christ Leads Assembly Church |
WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 16th September 2025 Day 47 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS THE COMPASS FOR LIFE'S JOURNEY Bible Verse: "...Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths..." Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV) REFLECTION: Navigating Life with the Cross In every journey, the direction you follow determines the destination you reach. The cross is not just a symbol to admire or a moment in history to remember—it is the compass that points you in the direction of God’s will every step of the way. “...Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path...” (Psalm 119:105). I once met a young man who shared how he had been chasing every opportunity that looked promising—business deals, friendships, and quick-money ventures. Each time, he ended up frustrated, losing both time and peace. It wasn’t until he surrendered to Christ at the cross that his direction changed. He told me, “Pastor, when I stopped relying on my cleverness and let Jesus lead me, I found rest and clarity.” His story is proof that without the compass of the cross, life becomes a cycle of confusion. Many trust in maps drawn by human wisdom, emotions, or trends, but such paths often lead to confusion, delay, or destruction. “...There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death...” (Proverbs 14:12). The cross, however, redirects you to God’s intended path. It reminds you to trust not in yourself, but in the One who surrendered everything for your future. “...Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith...” (Hebrews 12:2). I personally recall a season in my life when I was at a crossroads—unsure of which path to take in ministry. Every option looked right, but deep inside I was restless. In prayer, the Lord reminded me to fix my eyes on the cross, not on results or applause. As I obeyed, clarity came, and the peace of God confirmed the way forward. That decision became the turning point of my calling. When you don’t know which way to go—whether in relationships, career, ministry, or purpose—the cross stands tall, saying, “...This is the way, walk ye in it...” (Isaiah 30:21). It’s the divine GPS that recalculates your route when you’ve taken wrong turns and gently brings you back to grace. “...The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way...” (Psalm 37:23). Christ’s sacrifice wasn’t only to save you from sin, but to guide your steps into destiny. “...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me...” (John 14:6). Let the cross be your compass, and you’ll never be lost. “...For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God...” (Romans 8:14). WISDOM NUGGET: When the cross leads, your steps are sure (Psalm 37:23). CALL TO DECISION Today, choose to lay aside self-reliance and let the cross of Christ direct your journey. Submit your plans, desires, and decisions at the foot of the cross, and watch God unfold His perfect map for your life. “...Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass...” (Psalm 37:5). CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Are there areas in your life where you’re leaning on your own understanding instead of trusting the cross? I will stop relying on my own wisdom and surrender my heart fully to God. (Jeremiah 17:9) 2. How can you let the message of the cross guide your daily decisions? I will listen for God’s voice daily and choose to walk in His direction. (Isaiah 30:21) PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I choose to trust in You and lean not on my own limited understanding. Lead me by the power of the cross. Direct my paths, align my steps, and show me the way of wisdom and peace. Let my life follow Your footprints daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen. (Psalm 25:4–5) EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write about a decision you’re currently facing. How might trusting in the cross and surrendering your will help guide your choice? WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 15th September 2025 Day 46 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS BRINGS CLARITY IN CONFUSION Bible Verse: "...For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified..." 1 Corinthians 2:2 (KJV) REFLECTION: Focus in a Foggy World In a world filled with noise, conflicting opinions, and emotional turbulence, it’s easy to lose direction. But the cross is the compass that always points true north. When everything around you is unclear, uncertain, or chaotic, fixing your eyes on the crucified Christ brings clarity and calm. As Hebrews 12:2 reminds us, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” He is the one who steadies our gaze when life becomes blurry. Paul knew many things—he was highly educated, cultured, and gifted—but he narrowed his focus to one unshakable truth: Christ and Him crucified. Why? Because the cross reveals what matters most. “...For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God...” (1 Corinthians 1:18). The cross simplifies life. It settles doubts. It exposes distractions and centers your heart on eternal things. Just as Psalm 119:105 declares, “...Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path,...” the cross also serves as a divine filter for your decisions, your relationships, and your thoughts. When confusion threatens to overwhelm you, run to the cross. There, you’ll see your situation from God’s perspective. It removes the blur of fear, pride, pressure, and self, and replaces it with divine clarity. This is why Scripture assures us in Isaiah 26:3, “...Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee...” The cross anchors your mind in that peace and gives direction when the world feels uncertain. That’s why Jesus calls you in Luke 9:23, “...If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me...” Daily carrying the cross means daily clarity—choosing God’s way over confusion, and His will over your own. REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY: From Confusion to Clarity at the Cross A young man named Ayobami Daniel had a promising career, but he was torn between staying in his lucrative job and answering the call to serve God in ministry. The pressure from family, the lure of money, and the uncertainty of the future left him in deep confusion. One night, burdened and restless, he picked up his Bible and his eyes fell on Galatians 6:14: “...But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…” In tears, he prayed, “Lord, let the cross decide for me.” As he meditated on the sacrifice of Christ, everything became clear: no success, money, or human approval could outweigh the eternal value of the cross. Daniel chose to follow God’s call. Today, he testifies of peace, direction, and joy in ministry. The cross gave him clarity in his confusion. WISDOM NUGGET: The cross keeps your vision sharp in a blurry world. (Hebrews 12:2) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. What has been clouding your spiritual vision lately? Worry, fear, and earthly distractions often blur your focus. But Colossians 3:2 reminds you to set your mind on things above, seeing life through the cross. 2. How can you intentionally make the cross your focus in moments of decision and distraction? By surrendering to God in prayer, trusting His wisdom over your own (Proverbs 3:5–6), and filtering every choice through the sacrifice of Christ. CALL TO DECISION Beloved, confusion thrives when the cross is neglected, but clarity comes when the cross is embraced. Today, will you lay down your fears, distractions, and self-driven pursuits at the foot of the cross? Choose to make Christ crucified the lens through which you see your life. PRAY THIS: Lord, fix my eyes on Your cross. In my confusion, be my clarity. In my decisions, be my direction. I choose today to follow the way of the cross. In Jesus name, Amen. (Isaiah 26:3) EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write about a recent situation where confusion clouded your decision-making. Then, prayerfully reflect on how seeing that moment through the cross could have changed your perspective. Ask God to guide you with His Word as a lamp to your path (Psalm 119:105). WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 14th September 2025 Day 45 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS A DAILY POWER SOURCE Bible Verse: “....Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body..." 2 Corinthians 4:10 (KJV) REFLECTION: Carrying the Cross Every Day The power of the Cross is not a one-time event—it is a continual experience. While salvation was completed once for all on Calvary, the outworking of that power in your daily life comes through choosing the cross again and again. Jesus Himself declared: “...If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me...” (Luke 9:23). To “bear about in the body the dying of Jesus” means living with a constant awareness that your strength is in His death and your victory is in His resurrection. Paul testified: “...I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me...” (Galatians 2:20). The more you embrace this truth, the more the life of Christ becomes visible in your actions, thoughts, and relationships. When the flesh wants to rise, the cross brings it low, for “...reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord...” (Romans 6:11). When pride whispers, the cross silences it. When weariness knocks, the cross energizes. That is why Paul also urged: “...Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2). The cross is not just a past moment of triumph—it is your present source of power, identity, and purpose. You don’t live the Christian life in your own ability; you live it by the power that flows daily from the cross. That is how resurrection life becomes real in your body—through consistent surrender. REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY Sister Mary, a young believer, once struggled with anger and bitterness after being betrayed by close friends. Each day she prayed but still found herself lashing out in frustration. One morning, during her quiet time, she read Luke 9:23 and decided to consciously “take up her cross” that day—choosing to forgive instead of retaliating. She said: “At first it felt impossible, but as I prayed, ‘Lord, I choose Your cross over my feelings,’ peace began to flood my heart. Over time, I noticed my reactions changing. It wasn’t me anymore—it was Christ living through me. The cross became my daily strength.” Her journey is proof that when the cross is embraced daily, it becomes the believer’s greatest source of strength and peace. WISDOM NUGGET: The cross is not a memory—it’s a daily miracle. (Luke 9:23) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. Are there areas in your life where you're trying to live by willpower instead of cross-power? “...I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me...” (Galatians 2:20) True strength comes when you stop depending on your own effort and allow Christ to live through you. Willpower can fail, but cross-power never fails because it draws from Christ’s life in you. 2. What would your day look like if you started it at the foot of the cross? “...Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind...” (Romans 12:2) Beginning your day at the cross means surrendering your thoughts, desires, and plans to God. It positions you for renewal, transformation, and divine alignment so that Christ’s life shines through everything you do. A CALL TO DECISION Beloved, the cross is calling you—not as an event to be remembered but as a power to be lived. Will you carry it today? Will you lay down your pride, self-will, and weariness, and let Christ’s life shine through you? Don’t postpone it—choose the cross today, and let His power be your daily portion. Begin your day at the foot of the cross, and you will rise with the strength of resurrection power. PRAY THIS TODAY Lord Jesus, I choose Your cross today. Crucify my flesh, silence my pride, and fill me with the life of Christ. Let Your power be my daily strength. In Jesus’ name. Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE: List some specific areas in your life where you need daily power from the cross. Then, write a personal declaration of surrender for each one. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 13th September 2025 Day 44 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS RESTORES LOST HOPE Bible Verse: "...Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God..." (Psalm 42:11) REFLECTION: From Hopeless to Hopeful Through the Cross There are moments when life feels like a long Good Friday—dark, painful, and uncertain. Hope seems out of reach, and despair tries to settle in. But the Cross stands as a beacon that your darkest day is never your final chapter. The death of Jesus on the cross was not the end—it was the turning point. What looked like defeat became the doorway to resurrection. When the disciples were shattered by sorrow, the resurrection rewrote their sorrow into joy, their despair into testimony. The same is true for you. The cross restores lost hope—not by removing pain, but by injecting it with divine purpose. It assures you that every tear sown in sorrow will reap joy (Psalm 30:5), and that the Author of your life hasn’t dropped His pen (Hebrews 12:2). Hope isn’t found in changed circumstances; it’s found in an unchanging Saviour. The cross reminds you that even when you can’t see the way forward, God is still writing a redemptive ending (Romans 8:28; Jeremiah 29:11). Read these Bible passages further and build your faith on them: Job 19:25; Psalm 42:11; 1 Peter 1:3–5. A REAL-LIFE TESTIMONY A woman I know lost her husband unexpectedly, leaving her with three children and no financial security. For months, she wrestled with grief, fear, and the question: “Why would God allow this?” She described those days as her “Good Friday”—a season where the light of hope seemed to fade. But during her brokenness, she began clinging to the Cross. Scriptures like Romans 8:32 (“...He that spared not his own Son… how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?...”) became her anchor. Over time, God opened unexpected doors—people came to support her, a new promotion arose in her workplace, and her children thrived despite the hardship. She testifies today that what looked like the end of her story became a new beginning. The Cross reminded her that Jesus doesn’t abandon His own, and resurrection hope is real. Her darkest day did not define her—it refined her. And the same grace is available for you today. WISDOM NUGGET: The Cross is proof that your darkest day is not your last. (Lamentations 3:21–23) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 1. What dark moment in your life do you need to view through the lens of the Cross? "...Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost..." (Romans 15:13) Every challenge becomes a canvas for God’s power when you see it through the Cross. Instead of despair, you begin to expect redemption. 2. How can the resurrection power of Christ renew your hope today? "...Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… which hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..." (1 Peter 1:3–5) By remembering that Jesus overcame death, you realize no situation is too dead for Him to revive. His resurrection power guarantees your hope is alive, not dead. CALL TO DECISION Today, you have a choice: to let despair write the story of your life, or to let the Cross redefine your future. The same Jesus who turned the grave into an empty testimony of power is offering to turn your pain into purpose and your sorrow into joy. Will you place your hope in Him—not just for eternity, but for today’s battles? The Cross is your invitation: from hopelessness to hope, from despair to destiny. Say in faith: “Lord Jesus, I choose to see my life through Your Cross and resurrection. Rewrite my story with Your hope. My darkest day will not be my last day. Amen.” PRAYER Lord Jesus, when my heart is weary and my soul feels crushed, remind me of the hope the cross brings. Thank You for turning sorrow into songs and despair into dancing. Today, I lay down my burdens and pick up the joy of resurrection life. In You, my hope is never lost. In Jesus’ name. Amen and Amen. (Psalm 30:5) EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write about a time when you felt hopeless. How did God’s presence or promises restore your hope? Declare what you are now believing Him for. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 12th September 2025 Day 43 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS INVITES TOTAL SURRENDER Bible Verse: “...I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service...” – Romans 12:1 REFLECTION: Surrender Is the Only Reasonable Response The cross is not merely a place of salvation; it is the altar of surrender. When you truly grasp the depth of Christ’s sacrifice, you realize that anything less than the offering of your entire life is inadequate. Paul reminds us in Romans 12:1 that presenting your body as a living sacrifice is your “reasonable service.” In light of God’s mercies, surrender is not radical—it is logical. God does not delight in empty rituals or lifeless sacrifices (Psalm 51:16–17); He longs for hearts fully yielded, minds renewed (Romans 12:2), and wills aligned with His perfect plan. True surrender doesn’t mean flawless perfection—it means complete submission. It echoes Jesus’ prayer in Luke 22:42, “Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” This surrender is not a one-time crisis decision but a daily lifestyle (Luke 9:23). The cross makes no room for divided loyalties, for as Jesus declared, “No man can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24). When you release your way, your rights, and your ambitions, you create space for God’s higher purposes to unfold. That is where true transformation begins—on the altar of surrender. It is in dying to self that you truly begin to live (Galatians 2:20). WISDOM NUGGET: You cannot cling to the cross and your own way at the same time (Matthew 6:24). CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. What areas of your life have you partially surrendered but still try to control? Answer: God calls you to trust Him completely. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds you not to lean on your own understanding but to acknowledge Him in all things, so He can direct your paths. 2. How does understanding the mercies of God change your willingness to offer yourself fully to Him? Answer: When you consider that Christ died for all so that you may no longer live for yourself (2 Corinthians 5:14–15), surrender becomes not a burden, but a grateful response to His immeasurable love. CALL TO DECISION The cross demands a response. You cannot encounter Calvary and remain neutral. Today, God is asking you: Will you keep living for self, or will you yield fully to Him? Will you keep partial control, or will you surrender all? Jesus has already given His all for you—nothing held back. Now He invites you to place your life on the altar of surrender. PRAYER: Lord God, I lay down my life as a living sacrifice. Take my will, my plans, my desires, and replace them with Yours. I choose surrender—not just today, but every day. Let my life reflect the cross, where self ends and Christ begins. In Jesus’ name. Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE: List the things you are struggling to surrender fully to God. Write a personal surrender prayer for each, releasing them at the foot of the cross (Romans 6:13). Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 11th September 2025 Day 42 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross THE CROSS EMPOWERS SELF-DENIAL Bible Verse: "...Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me..." Matthew 16:24 REFLECTION: Losing Self to Find True Life The cross is not only the symbol of Christ's sacrifice—it is the invitation to surrender your life. Jesus didn’t just call you to admire His cross; He commanded you to carry yours. But this call to self-denial is not about punishment—it’s about purpose. True discipleship begins when you say “no” to self and “yes” to Christ. That “no” may feel like a loss at first—loss of control, pride, ego, or worldly ambition—but it is actually the gateway to authentic, Spirit-led living. The Apostle Paul said, “I die daily” (1 Corinthians 15:31), reminding you that self-denial is not a one-time event but a daily walk. Denying yourself isn’t weakness; it’s power under the control of God’s love. Paul described it this way: “...But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection...” (1 Corinthians 9:27). When you refuse to let flesh rule you, you become vessels God can use. The cross doesn’t call you to hate yourself; it calls you to love Jesus more than yourself. Jesus made this clear: “...If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple...” (Luke 14:26). In other words, nothing—including your own desires—should come before Christ. Each time you surrender your way for His will, you don’t lose—you gain eternal purpose. For Scripture declares, “...Whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it...” (Matthew 16:25). REAL-LIFE STORY Years ago, a young medical doctor in Abuja had the opportunity to relocate abroad with a high-paying job. Everything in him wanted to say yes—the money, the prestige, the comfort. But after prayer, he sensed God calling him into full-time ministry. It was a painful decision. Friends mocked him, relatives called him “a fool,” and he himself struggled with doubts. But he obeyed. He denied himself the life of comfort he had imagined and embraced the life of service God had written for him. Paul’s words became his anchor: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” (Romans 12:1). Today, his ministry has birthed schools, hospitals, and countless transformed lives. The job he gave up could have built his name, but the cross he carried built God’s kingdom—and gave him joy money could never buy. Truly, “though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9). WISDOM NUGGET: The cross is not an escape from life—it’s the entrance into real life. CHALLENGING QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 1. What areas of your life do you find hardest to surrender to God’s control? – (Luke 14:26–27) Often, it is your ambition, relationship, or comfort zone. Yet, Christ calls you to put Him first, trusting that His will is better than yours. 2. How can denying yourself daily lead to greater spiritual freedom and joy? – (Romans 12:1–2) When you present yourself as living sacrifice, you are no longer bound by selfish desires. Instead, you walk in freedom, peace, and joy that come from aligning with God’s perfect will. CALL TO DECISION Beloved, the cross is not a piece of jewelry to wear—it is a life to live. Jesus is not calling you to admiration but to participation. To follow Him means to surrender control, nail your ego to the cross, and let His Spirit rule your choices. Will you keep clinging to self and lose life, or will you deny yourself and discover the abundant life only Christ gives? Today, choose to say: “Lord Jesus, I lay down my pride, my ambitions, and my will at Your cross. From now on, it’s not about me, but about You. I take up my cross, and I follow You.” Your decision today determines your eternal destiny. Choose the cross—and find true life. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You for the call to follow You—not in comfort, but in courage. I surrender my desires, ambitions, and ego at the foot of Your cross. Teach me the joy and power of self-denial that leads to deeper discipleship. In Jesus’ name, Amen. (Philippians 3:7– ![]() EXPLORATIVE CUE: Write about one specific area where God is calling you to deny yourself. Then list what He might be inviting you into as you surrender it. WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY Date: 10th September 2025 Day: 41 Theme: Victory Through Sacrifice: Unlocking the Power and Purpose of the Cross Topic: THE CROSS IS THE MIRROR OF TRUE WORTH Bible Verse: "...Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me...." — Isaiah 49:16 REFLECTION: God’s Love Carved in the Wood of the Cross Your worth was not written in gold or silver—it was engraved in scars. In a world where self-worth is often measured by appearance, possessions, and applause, the cross offers a radically different mirror. It does not reflect your value through what you own, achieve, or what others think of you—it reflects it through what Jesus has already done. The nails that pierced His hands were not merely instruments of pain; they were divine inscriptions of your eternal worth. You are engraved upon His palms—not with ink, but with His very blood (Isaiah 49:16). WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW YOU ARE ALREADY LOVED Toyosi lived for applause. Every post, every selfie, every caption was crafted to win likes and comments. But when the screen went dark, so did her heart. One night, after scrolling endlessly, she came across a verse shared by a friend: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness” (Jeremiah 31:3). It stirred something deep inside. Later, at a church gathering, she heard a preacher say: “The cross is proof you are already enough. Christ’s love does not fluctuate with followers.” Tears streamed down her face. For the first time, she saw herself not as a brand to market but as a beloved daughter, accepted and secure. The applause of men faded, and the approval of Christ filled the emptiness. As Paul wrote: “Am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? … If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10). The cross is the everlasting receipt that you were worth dying for—not because of your works (Ephesians 2:8–9), but because of His love (Romans 5: .When the enemy whispers that you are forgotten, forsaken, or insignificant, the cross shouts louder: You are remembered, redeemed, and priceless (1 Peter 1:18–19). WISDOM NUGGET: The cross defines your worth—nothing less, nothing more. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13) CHALLENGING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. What lies have you believed about your worth that the cross corrects? Answer: Many believe lies such as: “I am not good enough… I must earn love… My past disqualifies me.” The cross corrects these by proving that if God gave His Son for you, your worth is beyond question. "...He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?...” (Romans 8:32) 2. How does knowing you're engraved on His hands change the way you see yourself and others? Answer: It reshapes your self-image. You stop seeing yourself as disposable and start recognizing you are intentionally loved and eternally remembered. It also changes how you view others—not as competitors, but as souls of great worth. "...I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well....” (Psalm 139:14) CALL TO DECISION: Choose the Cross as Your Mirror Every day, the world offers you a distorted mirror—reflecting worth through success, applause, or failure. But the cross stands as a higher mirror, one that never lies. Take a stand today. Reject the labels that diminish your identity. Accept the inscription on His hands as your true name: Valued. Loved. Worth the Blood. PRAY THIS IN YOUR HEART Lord Jesus Christ, I choose today to see myself through the cross. I renounce every lie of unworthiness and receive Your truth: I am engraved on Your hands and priceless in Your sight. Help me to walk in this identity and reflect it to others. In Jesus name. Amen. EXPLORATIVE CUE: List the names, labels, or lies you’ve believed about your worth. Then, write God’s truth from the cross that cancels each one (Isaiah 43:1). CLOSING CHARGE Go today knowing your worth is not in the applause of men but in the scars of Christ. Walk boldly in His love—you are already enough. Your beloved in Christ, Pastor Olanrewaju G. L.
