RealityKings1:Stop accusing people for what you are known for You were one among the trolls that singlehandedly destroyed the ashawo beer parlor thread When people were using Nairaland judiciously, you were using it to beg for alms and would rain down fury on anyone that tries to obstruct you |
Since this thread isnt about Nyash or Peter Obi, watch how it would cry for revelance. |
I am sure this issue must have been flogged previously but permit me to flog it in my own way. There was a time when Nairaland wasn't just a forum, it was a university of hustlers. People shared legitimate, actionable ways to make money. Not motivational quotes. Not fake lifestyle posts. Real game that changed lives. No tribal wars or political bickering. Beatzone came during the golden era of Fiverr, shared how to absolutely dominate the platform. Then came Venzal, who opened many people's eyes to the email copywriting niche and showed that Nigerians could earn serious money from writing. And who could forget Iyke? The domain guy who raised lots of millionaires through domain flipping. Many people built entire businesses from the knowledge he shared freely. Then there were importation gurus like Surveycash and DrOladipo, whose threads became the blueprint for countless entrepreneurs. I'm convinced a lot of Nairalanders made their first ₦1 million from information they picked up on NL, we had lots of such testimonies on Tissuepaper's thread Fast forward to today… We're in an era with AI, remote jobs, SaaS, digital products and more opportunities than ever, yet you can scroll through Nairaland for hours without finding a single genuinely beneficial thread. So what happened? Did the people with knowledge become hoarders? Or did the intellectual crowd simply leave the platform? I genuinely miss the days when one random Nairaland thread could change someone's life. |
