No go warm eba ezenwaez: Npower Beneficiaries Demand Immediate Payment of Stipends: 24-Hour Ultimatum to Ministry
The National Association of Npower Beneficiaries has issued an urgent reminder to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, led by Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, regarding the outstanding stipends owed to approximately 500,000 Npower beneficiaries. This reminder follows up on a previous letter sent on October 22, 2024.
The Association has given the Ministry a strict deadline of 24 hours, until November 12th, to settle all unpaid stipends. Failure to do so will result in legal action in a competent court.
In addition, Kehinde James, the National Adviser for Npower, expressed strong disapproval of any defamatory or disrespectful comments made by individuals claiming to represent the National Association of Npower Beneficiaries. He emphasized that such behavior would no longer be tolerated moving forward. |

Man looks like a fr@ud. ezenwaez: Nigerian Senate Confirms Dr. Badamasi Lawal as New CEO of NSIPA
The Nigerian Senate has officially confirmed Dr. Badamasi Lawal as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). This significant appointment positions Dr. Lawal at the helm of one of the nation's pivotal social welfare institutions.
The decision to confirm Dr. Lawal followed a thorough process. The Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Investments reviewed his qualifications and credentials before submitting their report for consideration. The committee, led by Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, affirmed that Dr. Lawal met all the necessary legal requirements for the position, paving the way for his endorsement.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio facilitated the final step in the confirmation process by presenting the nomination to the legislative body for a voice vote. The senators gave their approval, solidifying Dr. Lawal's appointment as the new head of NSIPA.
Dr. Lawal's nomination had earlier been put forward by President Bola Tinubu on August 8, 2024. In a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu's former spokesperson, Dr. Lawal was identified as the ideal candidate to lead the National Social Investment Programme Agency, pending Senate approval. This confirmation marks the culmination of that process.
Dr. Lawal comes into this role with a wealth of experience, having previously served as a commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs in Katsina State. His background in governance and public administration makes him a suitable candidate for managing the wide-reaching programs under NSIPA, which are aimed at reducing poverty and improving the lives of millions of Nigerians.
Dr. Lawal will be stepping into the shoes of Halima Shehu, the former CEO of NSIPA, who was suspended by President Tinubu amid allegations of financial misconduct. This leadership transition comes at a critical time, as the agency continues to play a crucial role in the implementation of key social investment programs aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting economic development across the country.
In the interim period following Shehu’s suspension, Akindele Egbuwalo, the national N-Power programme manager, was appointed by President Tinubu to act as the temporary CEO of NSIPA. Egbuwalo's temporary leadership helped maintain continuity within the agency while investigations into the allegations against Shehu were ongoing.
Dr. Lawal's confirmation as the new CEO of NSIPA signals a new chapter for the agency. His leadership is expected to bring fresh direction and oversight to the organization, as it continues its work in addressing pressing social and economic challenges facing Nigeria. |

According to Npower News, Adeshina A. Adex, the Npower Publicity Secretary, stated that the National Association of Npower Beneficiaries has been working to reach out to the influencer known as Verydarkblackman, urging him to use his platform to raise awareness among concerned Nigerians about the unpaid stipends owed to Npower beneficiaries, which have been outstanding for 9 to 12 months. Adeshina A. Adex expressed his gratitude for how beneficiaries have responded positively to Verydarkblackman’s involvement.
Npower News further reports that due to tomorrow’s public holiday, Comrade Kehinde James, the Npower National Chairman, who represents Niger State and resides in Abuja, will visit the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation on Tuesday or Wednesday. He will follow up on a submitted letter and pursue meetings with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and the new CEO of NSIPA, Dr. Badamasi Lawal.
Adeshina A. Adex also mentioned that despite being confirmed by the Senate, the new CEO has been frequently seen at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. He added that there is a strong likelihood that progress on Npower payments will be made this month or next. He encouraged beneficiaries to continue applying for other social investment opportunities, such as loans and grants, while awaiting their payments. |
