CelebritiesDon Jazzy Is A Genius, It’s A Privilege To Be Signed By Him —ayra Starr by Abuchy2(op): 9:48am On Feb 27, 2022
Ayra Starr and Don Jazzy
Budding talent Ayra Starr has described her record label boss, Don Jazzy, as a genius for taking his entertainment business to a global level from the scratch.

Ayra Starr, signed to Mavin Records, revealed that she is privilege to be tapping from the wealth of knowledge of Don Jazzy. Speaking in a recent chat with Punch, she said; “Don Jazzy is a genius, considering what he has done with his career, which he started from the scratch. Being able to constantly drink from his unending well of knowledge is a huge privilege.”

Ayra Starr, real name Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, divulged she grew up in a family that loved music. Disusing how her childhood influenced her music, she stated; “I grew up in a family where everyone loved music. While growing up, we were not really allowed to go out to play with friends regularly. Instead, we often played music games. We would be given words and asked to write songs about them, and even come up with a choreography routine, which would be performed before the whole family with incentives attached. All that largely influenced me, and I still carry some of the lessons from those moments with me.”

The 19-year-old whose ‘Bloody Samaritan’ track took the Nigerian music industry by storm, held that she believes love songs can be commercially successful. “I don’t believe love songs cannot be commercially successful. Nigerians are helpless romantics even though we like to pretend that we are not.”

Speaking on her hit song, ‘Bloody Samaritan,’ Ayra Starr said she didn’t expect the music to be as big as it is. “I would not say I was (shocked) because I knew I made a song people would be able to relate with. However, I had no idea it would go this viral. I did not sit down to think about the dance that came with the song. I was just having fun while on set and I posted the video I made. Before I knew it, it had turned into a full blown challenge with people from different parts of the world participating in it.”

Osun PDP Adhoc Congress: Ademola Adeleke’s Camp Coasts to Victory

Results from the Adhoc ward Congress within Osun PDP are already emerging and clear indications point to a clear open victory for the political camp of Senator Ademola Adeleke, a frontline governorship aspirant of the party.

Osun PDP Adhoc Congress: Ademola Adeleke's Camp Coasts to Victory

With over two third of the results from the 332 wards across Osun state, the Imole camp has recorded overwhelming lead from across the three senatorial districts.

In Osun West, Adeleke camp emerged victorious in virtually all the 10 local governments while election materials were snacthed by political thugs loyal to another aspirant in his home local government.

In Osun East, similar sweeping successes were recorded by the Imole group even with a local government within Ifeland where political thugs loyal to another aspirant hijacked election materials even before election officials reached the council area.

The Osun Central results also largely favoured the Imole camp from Ila to Osogbo among others.

Despite reports of imported thugs and voters, PDP members trooped out in large numbers to cast and defend their votes. It was gathered that the space was too hot for any imported thug to play any drama.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the adhoc Congress, Governor Umar Fintiri went round some of the local governments and expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise.

He also ensured transparency by granting each aspirants two representatives to ne part of the election monitoring team addressing situation all over the state.

The committee is now currently collating the results for official announcements and onward transmission to the national office of the party.

Each of the political camp however operated a Situation room and reports so far confirmed that the Adeleke camp has solidified its position with more than two third of the 900 plus adhoc delegates elected today.

It was earlier reported that the Adeleke group already have majority of plegded statutory votes from across the local governments in the state.

Senator Adeleke had conducted a tour of the nine federal constituencies during which delegates pledged their support.

The Senator was the only aspirant to have embarked on such popularity testing exercise.

Meanwhile, Senator Adeleke has urged party men and women to remain united as it is a case of no victor no vanquished.

Speaking with our reporter at his country home Ede, Senator Adeleke said the ward congress validated the popularity of the PDP among the voters.

“I appeal for unity, peace and brotherhood. We are one big family. Now is the time for us to sustain the tempo of unity in the best interest of the party and suffering people of Osun state.

“There is no victor, no vanquished. We are all victorious. I remain committed to reconciliation and peace drive by our elders and party leadership”, Adeleke said.

SportsAtletico Madrid Vs Man United: Ronaldo Has Impressive Record Against Familiar Fo by Abuchy2(op): 5:23pm On Feb 23, 2022
Cristiano Ronaldo will most definitely be part of Ralf Rangnick starting eleven for their Round of 16 Champions League clash with Spanish champions, Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

While it’s only the first time both sides are meeting since the 1991/92 European Cup Winners’ Cup, Ronaldo is no stranger to Diego Simeone and his players. Aside the fact that they frequently met in La Liga games, Ronaldo was part of the Read Madrid team that denied Atletico winning the most prized trophy in European football on two occasions.

Ronaldo scored a 120th minute penalty to seal Atletico’s fate in a 4-1 comeback win in 2014 and scored the winning penalty in the 5-3 victory two year later.

His numbers against Atletico are impressive –

25 goals
35 games
9 assists
4 hattricks

The Portuguese has more goal contributions against Atletico Madrid than against any other club in his career.

Ronaldo continued his tormenting of Atletico even after he joined Juventus. Both sides met in the Round of 16 during the 2018/19 campaign where he scored a hattrick to overturn a 2-0 first leg loss.

After scoring the third goal, Ronaldo almost got himself into trouble when he imitated Diego Simeone’s ‘cojones’ celebration from the first leg.

Simeone had before the Champions League group-stage clash between Atletico and Juventus in 2019 said, “It is difficult to prepare for a player like Cristiano. He is an animal in front of goal.

“He has an incredible record and he is always difficult to control in any goalscoring situation. He has made us suffer in the past.”

Although the 37 years old is not the same player he was in 2018, he is still lethal in front of goal and only recently ended a six-game goal scoring drought coupled with his impressive outing of six goals in five Champions League matches so far this season.

Atlético: Oblak; Vrsaljko, Felipe, Savić, Reinildo; Llorente, Herrera, Kondogbia, Lodi; Matheus Cunha, João Félix
