Celebrities / You Really Want To Be Popular? by Abujamedia(m): 5:35pm On Jul 04, 2014
Wait a minute! Do You really long for fame? want to live like a human in a goldfish bowl, whom every step is watched and criticized

Do you crave for fame that you don't care about the consequences? Want people on queue just to get your autograph? This is a very common dream, especially among young people. But does fame really make life fuller and more enjoyable?

See what a celebrity sacrifices for fame. He cannot have the freedom you have to move about inconspicuously in public places. At a party he cannot speak freely, because he is likely to be quoted or misquoted. His being famous makes it difficult for his children to have normal associations with other children, No freedom.

The personal affairs of his home life cannot be easily kept private. Recently Nicki Minaj said she almost died just to avoid her illness details being publish on a website. Celebrities’ loss of privacy is a high price to pay for fame.

Furthermore, celebrities cannot be sure that those who pretend to be their friends really are. Such persons might actually be more interested in being seen by the public in the company of a famous person. The professed friendship of another celebrity is also undependable because that person puts first his own position in the public eye. He can become insanely jealous if a so-called friend gets more public acclaim than he does. A true friend, however, sticks “closer than a brother.”—Prov. 18:24.

As far as morals are concerned, celebrities are certainly not to be envied. Immorality is rampant among them, causing domestic strife, divorces and diseases. An immoral way of life is not a happy one. Regarding this, Maurice Zolotow, a close associate of many famous persons, observed: “For about fifteen years I have been the confidant of Broadway and Hollywood actors and actresses who have opportunities to live a promiscuous sexual life. And some of them live it to the hilt . . . But when they trust you and let down their hair, they will confess how frustrating and unsatisfying it all is.”

Usually a famous person is soon forgotten when he dies. Although his name may be preserved in history books, it ceases to be on the lips of the people. This is particularly so as new generations come and the older ones that knew him pass away. For example, how many great athletes who won fame in the world do you know by name? How many are acclaimed today?

Why do you think you want to be famous? I may explain; but, at the end of it, will you stop wanting to be famous? You want to be famous because everybody around you in this society wants to be famous. Your parents, your teachers, the guru, the yogi - they all want to be.. Celebrities / “boko Haram Accept My Virginity Offer” – Adokiye Speaks On Her Strange Plea by Abujamedia(m): 1:43pm On Jul 04, 2014
Adokiye sure knows how to make a news splash.
If you didn’t know her earlier in the year, there is a chance that you do now.
The rising Nigerian pop star and actress made global headlines for her recent statement, in which she offered her virginity to Islamist militant sect Boko Haram, in return for the 200+ school girls abducted in the Chibok area of Borno state in April.
“This is 11pm in the night and do you know what I am thinking about? Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them. It is just unfair. They are too young. I wish I could offer myself in exchange.
They are between 12 and 15 year old girls for Christ sake. I am older and more experienced. Even if 10 to12 men have to take me every night, I don’t care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents.” the 23-year-old told the Vanguard Newspaper.
A lot of international media outlets including Daily Mail UK, Huffington Post and The Independent UK, have also picked up on the story.
This isn’t the first time Adokiye has spoken publicly about her virginity. A few years ago, she offered herself to any man who could by her mother a private jet.
BellaNaija got in touch with her. Here is what she had to say.

Questions
Let’s set the records straight, Is this a publicity stunt to promote your music and image?
“I made an open offer to some group of people. The question is why they haven’t accepted my request? They should gather up the girls, prepare them for release and then I am sure they will find out if I’m still a virgin.
Publicity card to promote my music and image?
Let me take us back to when this whole thing started, these same people called it “Scam”, “Publicity Card” by the Government and now look where we are today.
A lot of Nigerians are unbelievers and I’d say it is mainly some of our problems today. I am not stupid to play with something like this, let me even ask! Promote what music? I have not released any music or plan to even release any music anytime soon. So what music am I promoting?
As for my image, if crying for freedom for the release of innocent children, a reminder to the nation that kids are still missing is promoting my image, then I say to you, let my image soar!
Why are you so open about your virginity?
“Virginity has its own spiritual benefit.
A lot of girls that are virgins think virginity is not worth keeping probably because they are being mocked and called names, a lot of people say virginity is lack of opportunity.
So I am using this great opportunity to let the world know that if you are a girl and a virgin, oh you have a precious gift.
Make sure you end it up with a man who knows your worth, a man who knows what it means to have a pure lady. It is not a thing to be shameful about at all. Be proud.”
Do you feel in any way that your statement degrades women and trivializes the plight of the girls?
“It can only degrade a woman who does not appreciate womanhood/motherhood. If you are a true woman, you would understand my fight.
Before I go further, I’d like to let you know I run a charity foundation #ADOCHANGE. #ADOCHANGE is a charity foundation for the less privileged children, the motherless babies, kids who can’t speak for themselves.
Its mission is to stand for them and to make them live right. #ADOCHANGE will continue to fight for peace for the young ones, children with future so bright, our leaders of tomorrow. The children all around the world deserve a better life. And for that I stand like a mother.
Like a mother who can’t stand to see her children suffer. Yes I have a life to protect but that life would be worthless if I don’t stand by what I believe and that is protecting the kids I speak for. Do not miss the point, focus on my fight.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not promoting rape or pleading to be raped as what some people are making the situation seem like a joke but whatever those kids are going through, I say kids because we are not talking about girls anymore as you know little boys have joined in this.
Whatever it is they are going through, because we cannot see them, I would say should be thrown to me instead and allow them be freed.
I want to use this opportunity to apologise to all the women around the world who have gotten my fight twisted for some reasons or the other to see this as not only a selfless service to humanity but to fall back to the biblical times where Jesus urged us to be our brothers keeper and love others as we love ourselves.”
How do you feel about how viral your statements have gone?
“I thank God.
As noisy as I may sound, I thank God there are still intelligent people who understand my fight and where I am coming from.
It’s also a reminder to me again that indeed I have a mission here on earth. My point is very simple. I want the world to be restless until the kids are returned.”
How does your partner feel about the statement?
“I don’t have a boyfriend and I am not planning to have one anytime soon. I would say it is a distraction to me for now.”
Why the need to publicly state that the sect should come and take you?
“Forgive me to say that I am an Intelligential and I understand that the media has got a way of making people get things twisted, I get it and I don’t feel bad at all.
I thought by now, His Excellency, our Number one man, the President would have assigned reputable youths, intellects who share the same dreams with him, youths of our nation who can help to reduce this trauma we are going through.
The world has gone digital and youths are digital. Our nation’s youths are intelligent to fight this fight with our government.
I stand by my words to say I DON’T MIND BEING AN EXCHANGE FOR THE RELEASE OF THOSE KIDS SO THEY CAN GO BACK TO THEIR FAMILIES.
Whatever it is they are going through, for them to be released should be thrown to me. And If they have turned the young girls to their sex slaves, they should consider releasing them and turn me to one.”
On a final note, what projects are you currently working on?
“For now I am concentrating on reaching out to kids all around the world through my foundation, starting from Nigeria.
I have a new project “Kid’s Nation”, for the less privileged children. Showing their day to day activities how they live and how to make their lives better than what they already have.
I have had awesome support from people who believe these kids should get more in life and I am appealing to people to share this dream, life is incomplete without children. Let us give the kids a better life.”

Romance / Why Some People Choose To Remain Single? by Abujamedia(m): 2:55pm On Jul 03, 2014
Irrespective of the dictums outlined in religious texts and principles about the importance of marriage; the decision whether to go in for one or to remain single is essentially personal in nature where the questions of scriptures or rules of theologians should not come into play. This is particularly true of the current situation marked by extremes of stress, strain and struggle; in spite of all its techno savvy benefits.

With much thrust upon competition and rat race; a man's common place existence is one of extreme struggle and strain. This in turn is working havoc on marital and other relationships based on close bonding and trustfulness. Sometimes the sheer apprehension that things may not work out fine on home front has compelled people desirous of climbing up the social order to stay single.

People with a sharp or obsessive focus on career and personal growth often prefer staying single rather than bracing up to the duties and obligations of marriage. Paucity of time and personal inability to share and care keep them away from relationships and marriage.
Other than social and economic factors, there are people who preferred singularity over marital status on account of their lack of commitment. Rather than going for the hassles of serious relationships leading to marriage or live in stands, certain carefree and happy go lucky individuals choose to remain single.

It is true that humans, a part of the civilized society long for and cherish freedom. But it is equally important to note that there are ones including both men and women who cherish freedom to the point of selfishness. It is important or rather imperative that they stay single on account of their inflexibility and ill adjustability to come around to share and care for others. So the inability to compromise and need for absolute freedom from interference or disciplining goad people to stay single.

Career / How To Be A Good Writer (steps To Follow) by Abujamedia(m): 6:28pm On Jun 29, 2014
Today on Facts Only Blog I will be explaining the simple 4 Steps on how to be a good Article, Book/Novel writer.

First of all, what is writing good or who is a good writer? Your answer to this might be the name of your favourite author, maybe the one who wrote a comic or story/novel you like, or might as well be your teacher.

A good writer is a person who can write what he/she feels, narrate fictions, make a story out of impressions/expression people give without asking them a single question, he or she should be able to write under any circumstances or position he/she finds him/her self. Most people say psychics makes awesome writers because they can feel and put down their emotions with ink.

You don't have to write a book/Novel before classifying yourself as a good writer, though getting your work out to people to read and learn from is important as a career person, just as people like me do it for fun.

NOTE;

Professional writers do make mistakes, that why you see the "Editors" name different from the writer's on newspapers, Story book/novel, no matter how good you're in writing you'll always need someone to proof read, re-arrange your English and correct your paragraph, so have it in mind that making mistakes while writing or as writer is a normal thing..
If you've been following my English you'll notice some of my arrangements aren’t correct, yes! That's just to back up the point that you don't have to VERY good in English to become a writer, all you need to do Is get the idea of what to write, put it down In details, proof read, correct misspelled words and find a person to do the editing for you.

As a good writer you should be able to make people relate (Assume) your write-up as a real incident by expressing, giving full details of the event and describing things like place, how, the manner in which the event took place/incident occur. Etc.

Cutting the long story short below are the 4 SIMPLE steps to meditate on if you would like to be a good writer;

1. READ: You have to read and continue reading If you really want to be a successful writer, see how people write, always notice their patterns and they way they describe things, also try to learn at least a new word everyday.

2. WRITE:
OK, you think is too early to write? A capital NO, with all have mentioned and explain above you should be able to write without fear and always know that, the more you write the more you add stars to your writing career because you will always want to improve.

Don't know what to write about? Very simple, lots of celebrities around you, you can start by analysing them or create your own personal journal and write about the happenings around you.

3. PROOF READ: This is the most important step you should never do without, like I said above "No matter how good you're in writing, you will ALWAYS make mistakes, it normal, so try proof read your write-up at least twice before publication.

4. ALLOW COMMENTS: Yeah! Its the last step and also important so to push your career and know your weaken point by letting people read your write-up and comment whether good or bad, just to know where to correct yourself next time.

You can also Publicize yourself by submitting your article(s) to blog sites for publication.

Celebrities / Olamide 101: 7 Lessons From Nigeria’s Hottest Rapper Of The Moment by Abujamedia(m): 4:28pm On Jun 29, 2014
‘I pray to God that I make it to heaven, for going through hell, let my success shame the devil’ – Olamide (Jesu o’kola feat Aduke, YBNL, 2012)
Before I start, can we agree Nigerian rapper Olamide Adedeji (not to be confused with the Soundcity TV exec) is the hottest Nigerian rapper right now? With over 10 hit collaborations in less than a year, chart topping singles from a critically-acclaimed album, ubiquitous guest appearances and cameos; it’s safe to say he is. No?

It didn’t start this way for ‘Badoo’ though – Olamide’s early days can be traced to many years back when he was still called G-Dog and would visit veteran urban sound producer ID Cabasa’s studio in Bariga, in his secondary school uniform.
With the CODED Tunes dynasty falling apart, (9ice had just left, Lord of Ajasa left to work with K Solo for his third album, 2Phat kind of stopped making music, Reminisce and Jah Bless signed with EDGE Records), the young energetic rapper was signed and re-christened ‘Olamide’. He also signed a management deal with Toni Payne and released a premature debut album ‘Rapsodi’ in 2011, thus his journey to absolute power began. It’s 2013 and a lot of things have changed; what we can tell you is that Olamide’s career would have gone down the drain after his debut release if he hadn’t made power moves – the kind of moves only a boss (or a boss in the making) would make. Nigerian Entertainment Today details all these in a few points below…

1. GET YOURSELF A KICK ASS MANAGER
First thing Olamide did was fire Toni Payne whom he felt wasn’t doing much for his career right after his debut album release. The two parted ways controversially when Payne reportedly accused Olamide of performing and collecting performance fees without her knowledge. Olamide was then managed by 2Phat of CODED Tunes. After parting ways with ID Cabasa, he hired the services of Tony Nwakolor. Nwakolo, a very popular 30 something-year-old manager had failed with a now defunct Yes Records years back but in the process gained a lot of experience.

2. AVIOD BEEF AND CONTROVERSY
Even when Olamide parted with Toni Payne and eventually CODED Tunes, he kept his thoughts on the matter on the low, never speaking to the press about it. He also didn’t discuss his partying ways or throw disses at them on his songs. He also has united with other Yoruba speaking rappers especially Reminisce (who seems to be his toughest competition), Base One and others. No stories of getting drunk, knocking any girl up or being photographed while sleeping with a university student. And oh yea, he stopped dissing 9ice too.

3. BUILD YOUR OWN EMPIRE
Olamide is currently building his empire – starting with setting up his own label – YBNL (Yahoo Boy, No Laptop which relates to a hustler, whose work ethics matches that of an internet fraudster), merging forces with rappers Kida Kudz (winner of the Peak Talent Show, season 2) and 2Kriss, NOW with DJ Enimoney. He has also got for himself a producer Mr Pheelz who is credited with giving him the new sound on his YET TO DROP album.

4. DO IT BIG
Why buy a 9mm gun to kill a 20 feet giant when you could buy a rocket launcher? Olamide didn’t leave any stone unturned when recording his sophomore album YBNL– sticking with a little known producer Mr Pheelz (with some help from big brother Samklef), Olamide tightened his guest appearance list, featuring the likes of A-List acts Tiwa Savage, Davido, B-List acts Kayswitch, Dammy Krane and street-appealing acts rappers Reminisce, BaseOne, Minus and Aduke.

5. APPEAL TO THE STREETS
Since Dagrin’s death in 2010, there’s not been a rapper who has appealed to the public with street music, more than Olamide and Reminisce (mega props to Illbliss, Vector, Erigga and Seriki). With street appealing songs like ‘First of all’, ‘Ilefo Illuminati, ‘Voice of the Streets’ and ‘Young Erikina’, Badoo has won the hearts of the streets again.

6. APPEAL TO THE FEMALE FAN BASE
We can’t leave the ladies out. Olamide also knows this, so with tracks like ‘Unite’ and ‘Stupid love’, he keeps gaining their attention as the DJ and radio stations keep spinning those singles.

7. WORK OVERTIME Truth be told – Nigerian rappers are very lazy, or how would you explain a popular rapper releasing only two singles in a whole year? (Although A&Rs would explain he/she is trying to push and penetrate the market). Olamide is going the old fashioned way (and most secure route), by working his ass off (like 2pac, Notorious BIG, Lil Wayne, Drake, 50 Cent), recording and releasing multiple materials.

Sports / WOW! Chelsea Makes €20m Offer For Emenike by Abujamedia(m): 1:16pm On Jun 27, 2014
Chelsea still have their eyes on Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike and the team have lodged a surprise €20m offer with Turkish giants, Fenerbahce. What more, they are ready to wrap a deal which will turn out to be one of Europe’s most quickest, if not unpredictable forwards once the World Cup concludes.
