Despite experiencing few challenging moments with my flooded Trojan T105 batteries. if I am to make a choice again for myself, I'll go for them again.
it's gonna be 4 years ( June 2014) since I got those Batts. Brilliant performance since I began to obey the law ( never discharge below 48.5v except when extremely necessary). My 4kw array ensures daily absorption charge.
I also included a 1KVA 48V Telecom inverter which now works 24hrs daily which powers my fridge (once in a while it goes off due to start up surge) too. The power hungry 5kva Mustpower now works anytime I need to power other heavy appliances.

Surge protector ( MNSPD AC AND DC) is highly recommended Now that the rain loves to strike lightening. For those in their own house, ensure you install a full lightening storm arrestor( the one on the roof top) it should be done according to guidelines for effectiveness.

mcTrinity:
Good evening house,

I'm trying to improvise a PV combiner box using 4 circuit breakers and breaker box.

Attached is a sketch of how the connection will look like.

The PV combiner box is for 16# of 325w panels (4X4 configuration)

The circuit breakers located in the breaker box will be rated 16A (DC) or 32A (AC)

Correction is strictly welcomed...

Thanks
the improvised design is going to work. I have personally used it on several occasions. (I didn't have the patience of waiting to see the attached picture cos of poor network here).
my worry now is the issue of 4 by 4 configuration. kindly inform us the type of Mppt controller ure using.
I pray it's the classic such that you enable the hyper voc function to protect it from once in a while 150v ➕ voc during cool weather.

abunafiu,
prof, true talk. and not only batteries but cuts across the whole array of
solar accessories including charge controllers, inverters and panels.
inferior products will kill any industry faster than ebola kills its victims.
And in future only few who have access to premium products are the only ones who will enjoy RE.
if an average income earner in Nigeria manages to save some hundreds of thousand naira, he should at least enjoy it for what its worth and not paying through the nose and at the end there is no justification.
Most of the sellers here on this forum are doing their best because forum members are better guided when it comes to making choice.
What of other Nigerians who have never heard of nairaland or even take their time to do research. Majority of those who have had bitter experience with going SOLAR belong to the category of those who aren't lucky to belong here or have access to information.
On facebook, you come across several adverts and you ask yourself how is it going to work?.
A member here who joined late few years ago contacted me on how to resolve issues with his set up. it was discovered that there was poor matching of components in the installation and this was done by a BIG NAME in the industry.

Something needs to be done urgently, otherwise as Oga GeorgeD1 said, it's gonna kill faster than Ebola.

Battery Manufacturers and Battery Dealers in Nigeria:
You guys especially the Dealers are not helping the renewable energy industry to grow in Nigeria.
So many substandard batteries sold in the market without any form regulation by the authorities.
I am afraid, if this trend is not checked, the industry will die a slow death as more Nigerians are getting scared of tapping the endless opportunities presented by going SOLAR .
Industry giants, please save the Industry.

I dont know what my offense is on Nairaland. All my post have been hidden, i also had a tough time posting the pics of my MPPT. I believe according oga George, this thread hates solar energy.
As a result, i created a second account to enable me post my pics. abunafiu remains my number 1 username.

You can see my two generating sets resting in peace and my improvised MPPT hanger with improvised switch using "cutting wire technology"
My harvest for sunday......
Will post more soon.
same as abunafiu.

throw back Thursday on a Friday..LOL

remembering my morningstar days. when I was still on 24v system. I had 1200watts mono panels then.
it was fun sha.

fast forward to today, thank God almighty.
appreciate the frontiers for allowing us learn from them.
I dedicate this post to Chief George_D1
