Our educational system is a reflection of the state of the nation. What's the relationship between Oluomo and geographic? I weep for the present and future state of this nation. |

MusaChukwudi:Very stupidly myopic, immature and shallow, tribalistic mind set and comment. I guess you're a kid with access to data and a phone. Must everything be about politics and ethnicity? Even if you ain't sensible in real life, try to pretend or fake to be one online. I'm not even Igbo, proudly from the south-south. I'm firstly a Nigerian before my tribe or even religion. I love my country but I'm ashamed of our leaders and myopic tribalistic immature people like you. |
SirBunky85:This will be the first and last time I'll reply you if u don't have anything sensible to say. Have a nice day. |
Must everything be politicalized? So what will happen to the said materials now? I weep for my country. |
NairalandAngel:Yes there is. |
The recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa has been very sad and painful but most of all it has been very shameful not to South Africans but to Nigerians all over the world. The none activeness and slow response of the Nigerian government to these attacks has been disgraceful and very worrisome. The government of the day has been presented with so many opportunities to win the hearts and minds of Nigerians but it has most times woefully failed to capitalize on it. The most recent was the out cry on the brutality of SARS and the call for the outright ban of the outfit. But the cries and yearnings of the people fell on deaf ears and after much protracted online protests, all the government did was to "REFORM" SARS without any meaningful reformation for all to see. The oppression brutality and total disregard for human rights and the lives of Nigerians by SARS has continued unabated. This is just one of many examples of opportunities the government has failed to exploit to it's advantage. Now another golden opportunity has produced itself for the government to show it's strength, promote patriotism, promote national unity and make Nigerians feel like they have a government that really cares about them. A government that's committed in protecting her citizens against domestic and foreign aggression. A government that listens to her people and care about their feelings. A government committed to ensuring not just the safety but comfort of it's people all over the world. A government that values the lives of it's people's more than anything else. Even if the government has failed or haven't been so successful in securing the lives and properties of Nigerians in the country due to the rising rate of insecurity in the country, this would have been a good rallying point, that will endear the government of the day to Nigerians irrespective of political affiliations or ethnic differences. I employ the government to take bold decisive actions that's will resonate well all over the world while also holding talks with the South African government, holding them accountable for the lives of every Nigerian in their country. The government should also improve our foreign missions and embassies all over the world. Ensuring they deliver good quality services to Nigerians in diaspora. The advantages the situation presents to this government in terms of creating a sense of belonging and patriotism in Nigerians are numerous. The reason the citizens of many developed countries show so much patriotism and commitment to their government is because they know that their lives, comfort and security matters alot to their government. Citizens of developed countries such as the United States of America, Israel, Germany, etc, are well respected because their host countries know that their government care for her citizens and will do their best and everything possible to ensure that they are safe and secure. As a concerned citizen I enjoin the government to please take more actions (that promotes the nations interest in terms of security and comfort) and do less talking in ensuring the safety of the lives and properties of Nigerians in and outside the country from both domestic and foreign aggression. I also enjoin every Nigerian irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliation to stand up, speak up and condemn these attacks while also praying for our compatriots in diaspora especially in South Africa. God Bless Nigeria. God Bless Nigerians. May God Bless and keep safe Nigerians in Diaspora especially those in South Africa in these trying times. -Otoide Courage. Cc: Seun Lalasticlala Mynd44
