TravelRe: Nigerian Navy Destroys Ancestral Homes In Ilashe by ackunahc:

The locals harbor these vandals, they will never report any case of vandalism in their villages to the right authorities because they benefit from it. The government should do this to any settlement that allows such practice to happen under their nose
I do not agree with you. I personally live here with my wife and 2 kids. We relocated here 2 years ago, though my relations have settled here for decades now. I work as a business development executive with GilGal Properties Limited in Victoria Island. Most of the other residents work as Mechanics, cruize boat captains and deckhands, others work in the beach houses along the coast. There are Police stations and navy checkpoints around and officers from these units usually come here to raid the Vandals which are usually not from here. The decision to deprive natives of their homes because of a few vandals who could be easily arrested if not for greediness the of the officers sent to safeguard the pipelines is simply wickedness on the part of the government. I work hard and trying to create a sustainable life for my wife and kids. The government should please ask his officers to do their work diligently in other to save the rest of us from the trauma of having to lose a home and start all over again taking into consideration the present condition of Nigeria.
