Hi Adaeze, please did they call you from Lagos or Abuja? It seems only the people that attended physical interviews are getting calls/ emails from the embassy for the follow up interview.
Also, please can you PM me the contact details that reached out to you, I want to try if they would respond to me...waiting is a bit frustrating as I cannot reach them neither can I reschedule my appointment even after sending emails to the Lagosniv, going there physically and raising tickets on AVITS.
Please is there anyone here who did an IW drop off and got a 221g slip get called/ emailed to come in for a follow up interview?

I have the same case too. I did my interview with spouse in Abuja on 16th December and i was told its successful. However, i got an email with supplementary questions to answer and reply the visa admin. So i did just that and they confirmed receipt of my email. But my wife was issued the visa. What that means is that you are placed on" administative processing" they will contact us when they are ready to issue the visa after their background checks.

For me i saw that my passport was ready for pickup at OIS so i send some and collected the passports for the interim until they ask me to send it back to the embassy. check your email junk for the additional questions.

Hello All,
I am eligible for IW but because of the confusion of the new Avits platform with my appointment letter saying regular visa appointment , I decided to go for a physical interview on the 13th of December. During the interview I was told I would be issued a visa and submitted my passport. I was told it would take one week for my passport to be ready for pickup and then today when I checked the visa application status link , I saw refused. It’s very confusing because was told by the interviewer that I would be issued the visa , I still haven’t heard from the embassy about my passport. Has anyone experienced this

1. Your old IW appointment was converted to normal physical appointment, because the USA embassy felt like seeing you for questioning,
but unfortunately, you missed the appointment which is likely means that appointment has gone. Mind you, the USA embassy stipulates on the IW notification that " An applicant, who is or was qualified for interview waiver can still be summon for a physical appearance, this is what happened in your situation.

2. Now, if your present AVITS login page is not displaying any ' Pending Appointment or Reschedule Appointment, that means your appointment is gone , and in which
you will have to pay another MRV. Even , if you want to gamble another attempt on IW, OIS must see your payment receipt from AVITS before you can submit your IW application.

3. Now, let's suppose that you were successful with your OIS gambit, then, have it in mind that the USA embassy is 75% likely to call you back for a physical appearance , based on their initial demand of 19th of September.
