I think he is watching the training and he knows them up close than you think. Different caches can't be playing Maguire ahead of other defenders for no reason. No coach like to loose. Maybe that's the best they have despite what we think of him. Play the other defenders over a long stretch of games and you may see the difference.

You can't play full 90mins against Brentford and not have 1 goal

Those two headers should be formality for his standard, if he at least scored 1, team spirit would have been up and fight for more in the second half

And his positioning always coming back deep is unnecessary, leaves united without a striker
