The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has expelled four members of the Ali Modu Sherif’s faction of the party, state chairman of the Sheriff’s faction, Mr. Biyi Poroye and Others, who were sent packing from the party, are Johnson Alabi, Yemi Ajonibode and Ademola Genty. for allegedly frustrating the reconciliation process going on in the party.
In a statement on Sunday by the Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP in Ondo State, Mr. Ayo Fadaka, the party alleged that Poroye and others allegedly failed to appear before a disciplinary committee set up by the party in the state.

He said, “Biyi Poroye, Johnson Alabi, Yemi Ajonibode and Ademola Genty are hereby expelled from the party forthwith.

“They therefore cease to be members of the party and cannot take any action in favour of the party or pursue any action or claims against the party.”

The party, in the statement, also suspended all members of the factional Poroye-led executive pending when they appear before state disciplinary committee this week.
Poroye, however, said the Makarfi-led PDP was not sincere with the reconciliation and harmonisation of the two groups.

36 year old herbalist Rabiu Abubakar, and Sadiq Ibrahim, 30, from Kano and Zamfara States respectively were arrested alongside one Hussaini Hassan in Minna in connection with the crime of circulating fake Naira and dollar note by the Security and Civil Defence Corps in Niger State. arrested a herbalist and two others for allegedly circulating fake naira and dollar notes.

The state NSCDC commandant, Mr. Philip Ayuba, who disclosed this to Northern City News on Sunday, said Abubakar and Ibrahim were nabbed with fake $400,000 notes.


According to Ayuba, Abubakar had asked his victim to provide N20,000 which he promised to double in dollars.
The victim reportedly provided the amount, after which the herbalist handed him a carton and directed him not to open it until he got home.
The commandant said when the victim opened the carton at home, it was filled with fake American dollars with sawdust underneath the notes.
Ayuba explained that the second suspect, Sadiq, was apprehended at the bridge after Mobil Roundabout in Minna where he was waiting for a victim whom he had asked to provide N300,000.

President of Zimbakwe, Robert Mugabe said on Saturday that he was neither stepping down nor dying and that there was no one with his political stature who could immediately take over from him.

The 93 year old leader has been in charge of the African Country since thier independence in 1980, though is health now closely watched by Zimbabweans who fear the country could face chaos if he dies without anointing a successor.
Mugabe told tens of thousands of supporters at a rally in the town of Chinhoyi, in his home province, that doctors were recently surprised by his “strong bone system.”

He has traveled to Singapore three times this year for what officials say is routine medical treatment.

He said, “ There is the issue that the president is going. I am not going.”

“The president is dying. I am not dying. I will have an ailment here and there but body-wise, all my internal organs … very firm, very strong.”
Mugabe had walked onto the stage slowly but without assistance.

The issue of who will succeed Mugabe has deeply divided the ruling party, with two factions supporting Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Mugabe’s wife, Grace.

On Thursday, Grace challenged Mugabe to name his preferred successor, to end divisions over the future leadership of ZANU-PF.

She repeated the call on Saturday, adding that Mugabe would lead the process to choose his eventual successor.

Mugabe said although some party officials wanted to succeed him, he saw no one among his subordinates with his political clout to keep the party united and fend off a challenge from the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change.

Mugabe added, “ A new man will not have the same stature and the same acceptance as I have managed to secure for the party over the years.”

The Lagos state government yeterday dismantled Obalende chanties after a 48 hours Removal order last week Tuesday to vacate.

It was learnt that the state government had first gave them 6 month noticed to leave before the 48 hours given to them

Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force Superintendent of Police, Mr Olayinka Egbeyemi said, " the illegal structures and shanties including containerised shops were directly constructed right on water channels thereby, blocking free flow of water through drainage and canals around Obalende with resultant floods whenever it rains. "

According to a Nigerian man, @vanladi, posted on his Instagram account on how his flight from Jalingo to Abuja was delayed for 6 hours because the goveror of the state was to join them on the trip.

The airline was said to have told them they would be delayed for 30 minutes which turn to six hour before they embarked on the journey. And when he try to speak to the governor to show how he felt about it, he was beaten up by the governors aids, he said.

It was learnt that a young Nigerian internet fraudster said to be 19 years of age has reportedly ran mad after he went to a herbalist to do 'Yahoo-plus' so that he can be able to dupe rich people without hassles.

Yahoo-plus is a type of scam whereby Nigerian internet fraudsters go to herbalists for sacrifices so as to attract rich victims they will successfully scam easily.

Oluwafunminire using the Twitter handle, @NireAkintunde narrated that the young man ran mad after he was unable to finish 3 eggs the herbalist gave him as a task.

Freedom after 64 days in captivity. The six abducted pupils of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, regained their freedom today (friday).

it was learnt that the kids were released in Ajakpa Community in Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

A senior police officer said the children had been moved to the Ondo State Police Command headquarters in Akure.

It was gathered that no ransom was paid before the victims were released, though the parent of the pupils have paid some ransom to the kidnappers weeks after they were kidnapped, but today release shows no result that another ransom was paid for the six pupils.

it was learnt that the abducted kids will be received by the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu at the Ondo State Government House Akure, the state capital by the security operatives.

One of the parents of the children was full on joy after she was contacted.

“I am the happiest person on earth right now. When I called the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to confirm the news, he said ‘congratulations, they have been released’.”

young Zambian musician identified as Mpanjilwa Mulwanda, who committed suicide by hanging himself on July 24, barely days after making a joke about it on Facebook.

His death is currently trending on Zambia Social Media and according to multiple Facebook sources, during a chat with his friends on Friday, July 21, he made it known that he was going to take his life but they all laughed it off. Infact some even encouraged him to do it.

He posted a photo with a rope tied around his neck and his tongue out as he posed for a selfie, but friends thought he was just goofing around.

Mr Mohammed Yahaya, has sentenced Yahaya Abubakar, Zakari Ibrahim, Ibrahim Aliyu and Tijani Sani who smoked the banned substance at a motor park in Jos.

Judge Yahaya, however, gave the youths an option of N3,000 fine, each.

He strongly warn the youths to steer clear of crime as they had eakier pleaded guilty and prayed for leniency.

He hoped that the sentence would deter others from committing crime.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Ibrahim Gukwat, told the court that the police arrested the youths as they were smoking marijuana at a park as they also recovered a bag of the substance from the youths during further investigation.

He told the court that the act constituted public nuisance and contravened Section 198 of the Penal Code.

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, is set to inaugurate a new $1.5b fertilizer plant built by Indormara Eleme Fertilizer and Chemical Limited in Port Harcourt, Rivers state on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by his spokesman, Laolu Akande, in Abuja on Wednesday, the plant has a production capacity for 1.5 million Metric Tons of Urea fertilizer which is considered the world’s largest single-train Urea plant.

Eleme Petrochemicals Company Ltd, now Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited was privatized in 2006 after the sale of Federal Government’s 75 per cent shares to a core investor through a competitive bidding process.

He stated that the Plant has a production capacity of 4000 metric tons (MT) of nitrogenous fertilizer per day and 1.5 MT per annum built with an investment of $1.5b.

It also noted that the fertilizer plant is supported by a Port Terminal at the nearby Onne Port Complex, and a Gas Pipeline of 83.5KM for gas supply.

The state assured that the plant would bring about a green revolution in the agriculture sector not only in Nigeria but also in other parts of Africa and beyond, in line with the economic diversification of the Buhari administration.

Akande said, “ Besides making fertilizer available to farmers nationwide at affordable cost, the plant will also boost crop yield for farmers and help in minimizing the food grain deficit in Nigeria.”

Nigeria Customs Service had on Wednesday intercepted three consignments containing 140 species of snakes and 660 other animals imported into Nigeria from the neigboring country Cameroon.

The containers were brought in aboard a Cameroonian vessel , MV Flesh , through the Calabar waterways to the National Inland Waterways Authority jetty in Calabar, Cross River State.

Other animals identified as geckos, millipedes, hairy frogs and spiders, were said to be worth about N6.9m.

Mrs. Nanbyen Burromvyat, Customs Area Comptroller in charge of Calabar Free Trade Zone – Cross River and Akwa Ibom commands said the consignments were intercepted by vigilant officers on July 24 , 2017.

The species of snakes include Atheris squamigera, Bitis gobanica, Dasypeltis ssp and Boiga pulverinata, while the geckos were Hemidactylus frenatus and Hemidactylus fasciatus.

The millipede, hairy frogs and spiders were of the Architreptulus, Trichobatrachus robustus and Arachnidae species.

Mrs. Nanbyen said, “ These containers have animals of different sizes. They were brought in on July 24, 2017, through the Calabar waterways.

“ There is no permit to bring live animals into the country. We have seized and we are handing the animals over to the Nigerian Quarantine Services for further action.

“ I do not know what they want to do with them, but I think that the animals are dangerous because they include snakes, spiders, geckos and other creatures. We have enough snakes around Nigeria already. ”

The officer in charge of the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services in Cross River State, Mr. Sunday Ukut said, “ We will take them to the office and conduct further investigations. These animals came in without the necessary import papers and these are highly prohibited animals. So , we are going to carry out our own screening on them and possibly destroy them . They came in from Cameroon. ”

The suspect who allegedly brought in the consignments from Cameroon, Mr. Julius Novigana said, “ A friend gave them to me in Cameroon to deliver to someone in Lagos. I only have the man’s number in Lagos. I have called him and he said he would send someone to pick them from me in Calabar. ”

The Captain of the vessel that brought the consignment, Victor Agbor, also a Cameroonian, said, “ I did not see these containers on the vessel when I left Cameroon. The name of my vessel is MV Flesh and we bring in passengers and general cargo from Cameroon to Nigeria.
“ I never saw these containers on board before leaving.

“ I was informed in Nigeria that there were some containers without manifestoes in the vessel . I do not have any idea about them.”
