The Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose through his twitter account spoke on the incident that happened at the Akure Airport Yesterday when some cows were on the Plane runway, preventing an Air Peace Plane from landing. 


He twitted, " Today, whike at the Akure Airport to board Air Peace commercial flight to Lagos, I witnessed cows taking over the Airport runway and preventing Aircraft No. 5NBQQ from landing for more than 15 minutes. Thanks to Capt Inyang for saving the lives of the passengers.


" Honestly, this is not the time for the president to go to Daura ro rest. Rather, he should be on his feet seeking solutions to the security problems threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria.

Another fresh case of fraud has emerged at the Joint and Matriculation Board office (JAMB). 5 State offices of JAMB are now under investigation by the board as those involved in the case are already under suspension till its  been resolved. The States involved are Plateau, Kogi, Edo, Kano and Gombe.

The Lagos State Police Commissioner,  Egder Imohimi yesterday paraded a serial-killer named Adeola Williams, but popularly called Ade Lawyer and Akanni Olorunwa (Alhaji) who is a former Chairman of  National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State at the Police Headquarter in Ikeja. The two suspect was arrested due to the death of one Ganiyu Ayinla, called Pinero.


While addressing the newsmen, the former NURTW boss denied what the serial-killer said about him.  According to the serial-killer Ade Lawyer, he said that he has been involved in the death of many people in the state and the last job he did was for the former NURTW boss.  He said, " I have been hired to kill many people. I carried out four killings for him (Olorunwa). During the clash between him and Musiliu Akinsanya, alias Mc Oluomo, i killed two people for him. ."


" He said Kunle Poly betrayed him and contracted me to him, because he brought Kunle Poly into the NURTW and that there was a bonus he was entitled to as an ex-chairman of NURTW. He said he used to recieve the money, but Kunle Poly blocked the payment. And as a result of that, he did not want Kunle Poly anymore. He asked me to meet him somewhere for a discussion, but i told him i didn't  have a car. He personally drove to where i was at Igbosere and we discussed on how to carry out the operation in his car.


" When i was about to leave, he gave me N500,000 and promised to pay the remaining N1m when the job is done. He said he met with me in person because he did not want anybody to know about the operation. I assured him that nobody would hear about the killing.

Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has took to his twitter account to condemn the recent killing by some hoodlums in Zamfara State, the hoodlums are believed to be herdsmen. As the attack took the lives of 36 people.

Two people has been confirmed dead in Benue State due to lassa  fever infection. This was made known by the State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Cecilia Ojabo.


She said, "  Just this morning, i got a report from the Federal Medical Centre, Markurdi that another suspected case of lassa fever was recorded and they were advised to take the patient to the infection unit in the teaching hospital but on their way to the hospital, the patient died with her pregnancy. Seven person close to her have been placed under surveillance."

The Ogun State Police Operatives has arrested a 46 year old man named Oluwole Segun after he was alleged to have killed the father of a lady he was dating. Oluwole segun who is a married man was said to have killed Alhaji Mukaila Afolabi. A man said to be hypertensive.



It was reported  that the late Alhaji daughter and Oluwole who is already married has been together for more than a year in their relationship. Even though it has not been a peaceful one which made the Alhaji Afolabi daughter named Nafisat to have left Oluwole.


A situation was said to have arise, which made Nafisat to have called his elder brother and father to her place of work were she normally sowed cloth after she saw a fetish concoction.

A 30 year old man, Aliyu Inusa, was arrested in the Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State after his wife Mariya, reported him to the police on the allegation that he had sex with his 14 year old daughter. it was learnt that Aliyu raped her daughter based on the instruction of an herbalist, for him to become a wealthy man.
Katsina state Police spokesman DSP Gambo Isah, said, " The daughter informed the mother of the sex affairs with her father but she did not believe until she caught him having sex with their daughter. She reported the case to the police headquarters in the Rimi LGA and he was arrested. The girl was rushed to the General Hospital in the Rimi Local Government Area for medical attention. The case has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation."

The Federal Government’s effort in compelling the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU to call of their 4 day old strike in yesterday meeting between the FG and ASUU in Abuja turns to a deaf ear as ASUU refused the
government plead to end their strike.
Addressing journalists shortly after the meeting, the minister for labour and employment, Chris Ngige stated that the government was expecting feedback from ASUU on the overtures made to it, adding that the union promised to return to the negotiation table within one week. in attendance at the meeting was the Ministers of Education (Adamu Adamu), Labour and Employment (Ngige), Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and ASUU Leaders.
Ngige in his address said, " Within the last 48 hours, the government has been working; the Minister of Education, Minister of Finance, Attorney General of the Federation met and we have taken some government positions which we have communicated to ASUU leaders to take back to their members to see if that is adequate enough for them to call off the strike."
" The major issue is that we want the strike called off so that our children in school can write their degree and promotion exams. ASUU leaders said they will come back to us on a date within the next one week. It will not be later than one week."
On the other hand, the ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, said he would not go into details of the meeting.
He said, " Like the minister said, government has made offers on the issues we have raised, but we have to get back to our members for them to consider the offers and advise us. Based on their position, we will come back to government, hopefully within the next one week."

The leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has banned the use of compulsory uniforms also known as Aso Ebi worn at church functions. According to Tribune, wife of the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, disclosed this yesterday, when she spoke at the church's women’s meeting, which was part of the activities of its 65th annual convention of the church themed “Halleluyah”.
Pastor Mrs Adeboye described as ungodly acts by some church leaders to compel their members to buy and wear a particular uniform aka Aso ebi during any church function. She said that there have been reports that some members of some parishes in the church that cannot afford to buy some of these Aso Ebi's have been exempted from some church functions. She warned that such un-Christianly act of keeping church members out of programmes because of Aso ebi, must never be heard of again among the women in the church, adding that those caught would be severely sanctioned. According to her, Aso Ebi which should ordinarily be for the family, must not be elevated to the point of making it to overshadow the spiritual life of the congregants.
Mrs Adeboye also frowned at the idea of what is seen as petty lies during Christian wedding engagement, where those conducting such events would have to engage in lies to make money from the attendees. According to her, there is no white or black lie, small or big lie with God. She stressed that when attendees are asked to bring air fare to fly in an item already provided for at the event venue, those involved are simply engaging in ungodly act which is a sin.
She called for moderation among Christian women, saying that their focus should be bringing halleluyah and spirituality into their homes and not engaging in the ungodly acts of the unbelievers.

The Rivers State Police Command yesterday, August 11, paraded 70 suspects arrested for various crimes:
Briefing newsmen at the Command Headquarters, the Commissioner of Police, CP Zaki M. Ahmed, said the suspects were arrested between 1st of July till date.. The crimes that ranged from kidnappings, armed robbery, cultism.
He said," Like I have always said in my successive Briefings, the Command has zero tolerance for crime and criminality and we are prepared to go the whole hug to achieve this goal. We have expressed strong commitment and unwavering resolve to deal with all criminal elements in the State. And by the special Grace of God the battle against them must be won and sustained."
Below are details of the arrests and recovery of weapons:
1 KIDNAPPING: In the area of kidnapping, the Command declared an aggressive war against kidnappers which results are shown below:
(a) The Anti-kidnapping Unit of the Command arrested one Sunday Jackson ‘m’ who on 17/11/2016 kidnapped one Eke Ikechukwu and dispossessed him of his Toyota Camry and other valuables. Suspect has confessed to several kidnapping operations carried out by his gang at Bori, Eleme and Akpajo areas of the State. Items recovered from them include; one locally made revolver Pistol and a passat salon car. He is helping the Police and will be due in court soonest.
(b) Also the Command’s Anti-kidnapping Unit rescued one Favour Udochukwu ‘f’ 35yrs and arrested Lucky Orji and Innocent Chigozie, who confessed to the crime and are making further useful statements. Efforts are on to arrest members of his gang.
(c) The Anti-kidnapping Unit arrested one Emmanuel Iyekine ‘m’ alias Boyoyo, who was arrested from their hideout. He confessed to the kidnap of a medical Doctor at Degema Community. He is making useful statements that will aid the arrest of his confederates in crime.
(d) Further on kidnapping, the Men of the Anti-kidnapping Unit on 22/7/17 at about 2200hrs at kpite Tai, arrested one Godspower Nwae ‘m’ and recovered one locally made Pistol. He is among those terrorizing the Ogoni axis. Efforts are on to burst their criminal gang.
(e) The Anti-kidnapping Unit on a Tip-off arrested one David John alias Tito boy, who confessed to the Kidnap of a Civil Commissioner in the State and the kidnap of a Traditional Ruler at Okporo Mini, one locally made Pistol and Pump Action were recovered from him. Efforts have been intensified to round them up.
f) On 7/7/17 at about 0910hrs the Anti Kidnapping Unit stormed a camp at Ipo Bush in Ikwerre LGA where two kidnapped victims were kept, namely Susan Uka ‘f’ and Chisom Sunday ‘f’ who were kidnapped on the 2/7/17 along Elele/Owerri Road. On sighting the Police the hoodlums opened fire but were repelled, resulting in the rescue of the victims. Efforts are on to arrest and recover their operational weapons.
(g) Again the Anti-kidnapping Unit stormed Agbonchia in Eleme Local Government Area, where six kidnapped victims were held hostage. The victims were rescued in a covert Operation, none of them sustained injury. They were rescued unhurt and released to their families after being debriefed.
(i) On 8/7/17 at about 2310hrs Men of the Ozuaba Police Station arrested Christian Joseph alias Tupac ‘m’, Sunday Okehi ‘m’, they are alleged to be among the five Man gang that kidnapped one Fortune Etuke 7yrs son of one Christian Etuke. Barring all odds the father of the boy was able to identify one of the kidnappers and through the confessions of the two suspects, the victim was rescued and has reunited with his parents.
(j) On 1/8/17 at about 0300hrs Men of the Anti Kidnapping Unit arrested the following suspects, namely;
(1) Mark Lazarus ‘m’ 26yrs
(2) Kalu Okechukwu ‘m’ 17yrs
(3) Friday Grant ‘m’ 27yrs
(4) Emmanuel Okezie ‘m’ 28yrs
(5) Precious Luke ‘m’28yrs
(6) Chika Njoku ‘m’ 29yrs

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has said it will continue to challenge the anti-grazing laws introduced by some state governments in court.
The National Secretary of the Association, Alhaji Baba Ngelzarma, , while speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Thursday said, " we are going to challenge this anti-grazing law in courts and some of us have taken the matter to international court because that is the only option left for us. This is a breach of the constitution and the fundamental human rights of our members. We are not against ranching. The pastoralist will embrace it but that cannot be right away but it will be overtime. You have to educate them to know the benefits of ranching. These pastoralists will take the law as something that is totally strange, a plot to take them away from what they inherited from their forefathers. They will see it as a failure on their part. If these grazing reserves that we have in the North can be maintained and rehabilitated, with the provision of boreholes and grasses, I see no reason why the pastoralist will continue to roam around."
“ We are sensitising our people to the need for them to remain peaceful; not to originate or look for trouble, not to encroach into peoples’ farms,’’ he said.

There was confusion at the Ile Zik bus stop, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on yesterday after a suspected kidnappers’ den was uncovered around a drainage channel. Decomposed human intestines, a kidney, as well as items such as a cutlass, pairs of slippers, underwear, clothes, condoms, among others, were allegedly discovered in some black spots linking the drains.
It was learnt that two “ pretends mentally-ill” persons and two others found around the spot were picked up by the police.
This discovery came barely 48 hours after a similar den was uncovered at Obadeyi bus stop along the same expressway.
A resident, who gave his name only as Joshua said, “ We saw a woman who dressed like a mad person loitering around the drains and we challenged her. At a spot, we saw a bag covered with black nylon. We found some plastic bottles in the bag. While we were emptying the bag and questioning the woman, we saw another ‘mad man’ close to the area. He tried to run away, but people gave him a chase and arrested him.
“ While questioning and beating them, policemen came and took them away. We discovered something wrapped in nylon inside the bag. When we opened it, we saw a human kidney and intestines. They were later set ablaze.”
Another Resident, Bayo George said, “ Yesterday people challenged her and while talking to her, they discovered a lot of new items in one of the bags she covered with tyres. The other man usually sits around this area too.
“ Today (Thursday), we approached her again to ask her some questions and in the process, she ran into hiding in a bush along the drains. We brought her out with some nylons.
“ When we emptied the contents of the nylons, we saw new and old female items like pants, bra, toothbrush, lip sticks, bags, a small Bible, comb, cosmetics, a sachet tomato, keys, pairs of shoes, cigarette, glass cup, drinks, and other items.”
Another resident said, “ The registration number on one of the receipts is 062181. The two drug descriptions were dated June 28 and July 3, 2017 with N4,800 and N9,600 written on the two receipts respectively.
“ N11,500 was boldly written on a paper and placed on the top of the nylon that contained the human parts. Three other persons were also arrested and taken to the Isokoko Police Station. Criminal activities have been on in this area for many years.”
A lady, who did not disclose her name, said she narrowly escaped from some suspected kidnappers at the bus stop two weeks ago.
“ I boarded a bus at Ikeja and a few minutes later, I discovered that a lot of people inside the bus had slept off as we were about to reach Ile Zik. I started shouting and the conductor was surprised that I was not asleep.
“ When they noticed that a car was coming behind us, they turned back at Ile-Zik and went to stop the car at National bus stop. Immediately they stopped the car, the passengers woke up. I gave testimony in church last week to appreciate God,” she said.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said, “ We swung into action to protect some people from jungle justice. Most of these people are destitute; they live anywhere. It is unfair; let us investigate and come up with our findings. If truly they found human parts, what was the essence of setting them ablaze?”

A man named Juan Carlos was charged with murder after shooting his wife and her lover when he walked in on them having sex.
The 42 security guard, suspected that his 39 year old wife, Sandra Castellanos, was having an affair while he was working night shifts, so he planned a trap to catch her in the act.
Juan caught Sandra having sex with her 35 year old boyfriend Noe Gomez, at their family home in Atlantico, Colombia while their three kids were asleep. after seeing them, Juan then pulled a handgun and shot his cheating wife and her boyfriend at around 9 p.m. on 4 August.
The father-of-three found out about his wife's infidelity from neighbours. To catch them red-handed, he pretended to go to work on that fateful day, then stayed at a friend's house. From there he called his wife to enquire about their kids and soon after, he burst into their home unexpectedly.
Juan was later arrested in what police called a "horrific crime of passion". Police say he handed himself in and confessed to his crimes but he did not show remorse.
He reportedly told officers: " She was unfaithful and sullied my honour as a man. All I did was remove the woman who destroyed my life in this world."
The police report said: "At 9.05pm Juan Carlos Garcia called his wife to ask about his three children, she answered the call and told him that they had gone to bed early because they had to leave for school.
" The suspect Juan Carlos Garcia found his wife making love with her lover. The husband was filled with anger and killed them both. He handed himself in to police and said that he did not feel sorry for what he had done."
Garcia had been remanded in custody and would face court hearings at a later date. the three children would attend their mother’s funeral and be cared for by relatives, said by the police.

A man known as Austin Segun, who tied his 13 year old son to a burglar-proof for three days because a pastor said the boy was a wizard, has been given an ultimatum to leave Eruemukohwarien community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The victim, Tobi Segun, who just finished Primary school, was rescued by a group of vigilante, who heard him crying at about 2 a.m.
One of the vigilante members, who rescued the victim said, " Immediately, we alerted the community Youth Chairman and others. When we gained access into the house, we saw the boy alone, tied to the window protector while his hands were tied behind him."
" Though the parents were not at home, the landlord called the father on phone while the community Youth Chairman alerted the DPO of the Ughelli ‘A’ Division, who personally came and arrested the suspect."
Tobi step-mother, Mrs. Edijala Favour Segun, said, " They told us that he is a wizard at a Church we went to for prayers and he also admitted that he is a wizard. At a point, my husband had to use a hot iron to burn his palm and feet owing to his misbehaviour. Despite this, he opened the fridge in the house and ate everything.
" This led to my husband tying his hands and legs to the protector. He had just been tied for three days before we were arrested,"
Mr. Segun was released on bail after he was arrested and detained at the Ughelli ‘A’ Division Police Station over the incident.
" On that day, our landlord called us on the phone that we should come back to the house. On getting home, we were faced with a crowd that started hitting my husband and me. After some minutes, the Police came and arrested my husband, while I was asked to take Tobi to the Ughelli Central Hospital for treatment." said Mrs Segun.
" My husband was able to secure his release, but the IPO in charge of the case ordered that we should move out of the community. This was documented and we all agreed to it including leaders of the community."
Recounting his ordeal, Tobi said, " I always run from the house because I am not comfortable. My mother is dead and the woman here is my step-mother."

Some elderly women who serve as sweepers in Lagos state took to the street on monday, (yesterday) to staged a protest in Ikeja over the non-payment of their salaries for 5 months. According to the protesting women, some of them are as old as 70.
They said they were contacted by one Dafunol International Limited, a contractor engaged by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), to sweep the LAMATA-constructed bus shelters along Mile 12-Ketu –Ikorodu Road–Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) axis. The women say since March this year, the company has refused to pay them their N15, 000 monthly salary. They appealed to the Lagos state government to come to their aid and pay them their salaries.

Tragic struck on thusday last week as Seven members of a family lost their lives due to suspected fumes from a generator set positioned close to the window of their home in Oyigbo, Rivers State.
Neighbors who did not see them or any member of the family stepping out of the house on Friday decided to make some iniquities by knocking on their door. but no one answered their knocks. By Saturday, the smell emanating from their rooms led to the neighbors breaking the door leading to the apartment, but found the swollen corpses of the deceased family members inside the rooms in the house. They have been removed and deposited at the state morgue.

The chairman of the Lagos State Chiairman National Union of Road Transport workers (NURTW), Ajegunle Branch, Apapa, Lagos, Wasiu Atunse Akanbi, A.k.a Paapa has been remanded in prison for unlawful possession of a
Beretta pistol with six live cartridges without the approval of the Inspector General of Police, IGP.
It was reviewed that the suspect was arrested by the operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS after concerned residents filed a complaint against him to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP in charge of FSARS, Lagos, Ibrahim Kaoje, with claims that Akanbi wouldn't stop harassing, threatening and intimidating them with the said gun.
Following the report, DCP Kaoje, dispatched a team led by SP Omoyele Adekunle to the area to track and arrest, and bring the suspect to the station.
Akanbi allegedly confessed to the crime and led the police to his apartment in Ajegunle where a Beretta pistol with six live cartridges was recovered in the ceiling inside his apartment. When asked what he did with the gun, he allegedly denied being the owner, but admitted that one of his boys kept the gun with him.
Akanbi was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court, Lagos on a one-count charge of felony to wit unlawful possession of One Beretta pistol without approval.
Police prosecutor, Owunmi adjourned the case till 15 September, 2017.
