A Kano woman, Hafsatu Yusuf, who already has eight children, has given birth to quintuplets (three boys and two girls) at the Murtala Specialist Hospital in Kano.

Her husband, Malam Salisu Nafiu, a tricycle rider, confirmed the delivery occurred around 2:00 pm on Wednesday. He expressed gratitude to God, noting that both the mother and all five babies are in good health. This was Hafsatu’s ninth delivery.

The Kano State Government has announced it will take full responsibility for the healthcare of the mother and her quintuplets. The Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Health, Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa, said the gesture is part of efforts to strengthen maternal and child healthcare and reduce mortality rates in the state.
