Sports › Re: PSG Secure Victory In Mbappe Battle by Adefemi06: 9:44am On Sep 17, 2024 |
Ashleyokeneye: Kylian Mbappé Lottin is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward for La Liga club Real Madrid and captains the French national team. Widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, he is known for his dribbling, finishing and speed. Mbappe and PSG have been advised to attempt mediation to end their current dispute regarding unpaid wages by an LFP complaints committee. PSG confirmed they were "very pleased" with the verdict, but the proposal has been rejected straightaway by the France international. The saga now looks set to be resolved in a courtroom.
Mbappe is demanding a total of €55 million ($60.6m) in unpaid wages from PSG. The figure equates to three months' wages, a signing bonus and an "ethical bonus." Yet the Ligue 1 side are unwilling to pay the amount as they believe they had a verbal agreement with the attacker to waive the payment. Mbappe's mother said back in July her son was prepared to sue PSG over the matter.
PSG have secured a significant victory over Kylian Mbappé today in a bitter dispute over €55m in wages and bonuses. Mbappé believes he is owed the money after he moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer. PSG insisted he had agreed to waive the sum in question if he ever left PSG as a free agent.
The Ligue de Football Professionnel legal committee recommended today that the two sides enter a mediation process to settle the dispute. PSG's position is that when Mbappé renewed his contract in 2022, and many time afterwards, he agreed that if he left at the end of his contract it would not be for nothing and that would happen by the player waiving certain financial commitments. PSG believe the agreement was triggered when Mbappé joined Real Madrid as a free agent this summer. The club have withheld €55m based on the agreement, which has now risen to €68m after costs.

Sports › Re: Ilot Bet: History Of Sports Betting by Adefemi06: 1:44pm On Sep 29, 2023 |
Ashleyokeneye: The history of sports betting dates back thousands of years and has evolved significantly over time. Here is a brief overview of the key developments in the history of sports betting: Ancient Civilizations: • Sports betting can be traced back to ancient civilizations, such as the Greeks and Romans, who engaged in betting on various athletic events, including chariot races, gladiator contests, and the Olympics. • The Greeks are believed to have introduced the concept of odds to betting, which laid the foundation for modern sports betting. Middle Ages: • Betting on sporting events continued throughout the Middle Ages in various forms, often tied to religious festivals or local celebrations. • However, gambling was frequently regulated or banned by religious authorities and governments during this period. 19th Century: • The 19th century saw the emergence of organized horse racing, which became a popular betting sport in Europe and the United States. • The first official horse racing track in the United States, the Saratoga Race Course in New York, opened in 1863. Early 20th Century: • In the early 20th century, illegal sports betting operations, often controlled by organized crime, flourished in the United States. • The 1919 Black Sox scandal, where members of the Chicago White Sox conspired to fix the World Series, highlighted the risks associated with sports betting and led to increased efforts to regulate and control it. Modern Era: • The 1930s saw the legalization of pari-mutuel betting on horse racing in the United States, which marked the beginning of legal sports betting in the country. • In 1949, Nevada became the first state to legalize sports betting, allowing it to operate in licensed casinos. • Over the following decades, sports betting expanded to other states, but it remained highly regulated and limited in scope. Online Sports Betting: • The advent of the internet in the late 20th century revolutionized sports betting. Online sportsbooks began to appear in the mid-1990s, offering a convenient way for people to place bets on sports events from their homes. Global Growth: • Sports betting has also continued to grow internationally, with many countries legalizing and regulating the industry. • The rise of online betting platforms has made it easier for people around the world to participate in sports betting. Technology and Innovation: • Advances in technology, including mobile apps and in-play betting, have further transformed the sports betting industry, making it more accessible and engaging for bettors.
The history of sports betting is marked by a shift from illicit and unregulated operations to a legal and regulated industry, with a strong emphasis on consumer protection and responsible gambling practices in many regions. The industry continues to evolve as new technologies and regulations emerge.
