Teachers in private schools across the country have been suffering since April this year. This is because the private school owners claim there is no money to pay their monthly salaries because schools across the country were short down by the government, because of Covid 19 pandemic.

The federal and state governments needs to come to the aid of these people. Their counterparts in the public schools are being paid fully monthly.

If the situation of these people is not addressed, this may lead to so many of them becoming discouraged to go back to school, when things return to normal, which may lead to shortage of qualified professionals in these private schools and Inturn creating more problem for the educational sector.

The Nigeria Union of teachers needs to support and speak for these people, even the Nigeria Labour Congress.

These teachers have families to take care of, some both the husband and the wife are private school teachers. Some in the past few months have turned to beggars to feed.
