SportsMessi Tops Ronaldo Again To Become Highest Rated Player On FIFA 22 by Adejoke123(op): 3:04pm On Sep 15, 2021
FIFA 22 will be made available worldwide on October 1st, 2021. But to release the demo version of the game, FIFA released the list of the top 22 players on the game this year and once again 6 time Balon do’or winner Lionel Messi tops the list with a rating of 93 with his rival who recently returned to the Old Trafford Cristiano Ronaldo trailing behind with a rating of 91.

The Argentine footballer is no doubt one of the best players in the world considering his records and achievements in the round leather game most especially when playing for Barcelona. And for the first time in a long run, Cristiano Ronaldo who recently made his return to Manchester United did not make the top 2 and has been overtaken by Robert Lewandowski.

SportsUYL: Super Eagles Hopeful Shoretire Scores Winning Goal For Man Utd by Adejoke123(op): 11:29am On Sep 15, 2021
The 17 year old was the difference maker in Man Utd’s youth team win against Young Boys in the Youth Champions league.

Shola Shoretire will play no part when Manchester United begin their UEFA Champions League campaign later this evening as he went the full ninety against Young Boys U19s.

First year scholar Maximilano Oyedele and Dillon Hoogewerf were omitted from United’s matchday squad against the Swiss opponents.

The Dutch-Nigerian attacker has not figured for United youth teams since he was sent packing from the Netherlands U19s training camp for repeatedly reporting to training late.

At minute 14, Shoretire scored what proved to be the game-winning goal when he found the net from close range.

The England youth international had been the youngest player to feature in the UEFA Youth League, aged 14 years, 10 months and 10 days when he made his debut vs Valencia on December 12, 2018, before the record was broken by Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko in September 2019.

SportsHow Team Nigeria Performed At The Paralympics Games by Adejoke123(op): 12:56pm On Sep 14, 2021
Team Nigeria in the paralympics is not always talked about enough. Every Paralympic competition, Team Nigeria always put on a show and make the Nation proud but their success is not talked about enough. In the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Team Nigeria won a total of 10 medals

The medals saw Nigeria finish with four gold, one silver and five bronze medals.

Lauritta Onye started the closing day of Nigeria’s contest by winning bronze in the women’s F40 shot put event before Flora Ugunnwa ensured Nigeria signed out on a high from Tokyo with gold in the F54 javelin event.

As reported by SportsTalkAfrica, Lauritta competed under very difficult conditions on the wet and slippery grounds of the stadium.

She nonetheless threw 8.29 metres which was enough for a podium finish but could not rattle gold medalist Sliwinska Renata of Poland whose 8.75 metres cancelled off the Nigerian’s Games’ record of 8.40 metres set in Rio 2016.

Djelal Salem of Algeria secured the silver with a throw of 8.33 metres.

Flora Ugunnwa, however, turned the story around in the F54 javelin final which was Nigeria’s last event in Tokyo.

She dusted her opponents with her 18.39 metres throw to leave Kurbanova Nurkorn of Uzbekistan and Yang Liwan of China in the second and third positions respectively.

Flora told Sportstalkafrica.com in Tokyo she had planned to achieve more at the Paralympic Games but remains thankful to God for the gold medal.

SportsWhat More Does Kelechi Iheancho Have To Do To Earn A Starting Spot At Leicester by Adejoke123(op): 10:59am On Sep 14, 2021
Kelechi Iheanacho aka Senior Man Kelz lit up the Premier League in the second half of the 2020-2021 premier league season and was easily one of the best strikers in the country. But all his goal scoring prowess still hasn’t t earned him a starting spot as Jamie Vardy is still preferred upfront to senior Man kelz by Brendan Rodgers.

One would expect the likes of Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah, Bruno Fernandes, make headlines in the second half of a season as they all look to push their clubs for a top four finish.

While that happened during the latter part of the 2020-21 campaign, it was a less-fancied Kelechi Iheanacho that stole the show. Indeed, the Nigerian scored 12 league goals between January and May, the most of any player in the Premier League, some of them sublime and breath-taking, and it kept him being talked about week after week.

Iheanacho’s brilliance came as a result of injury to both Harvey Barnes and Maddison and it seems with the return of the English Men, Brendan Rodgers has once more demoted Iheanacho back to the bench. The question what more does the Senior Man have to do?

SportsVillarreal Coach Provides Chukwueze Injury Update That Will Worry Rohr, Super Ea by Adejoke123(op): 7:56am On Sep 14, 2021
Villarreal coach Unai Emery has provided an update on Super Eagles Winger Samuel Chukwueze and it’s worrying news for the Super Eagles man.

Villarreal manager Unai Emery has provided an update on Samuel Chukwueze that will worry Super Eagles fans and Gernot Rohr after the Spaniard revealed that the winger’s recovery from injury is not going according to plan.

The Nigeria international has all but been ruled out of the Yellow Submarine’s opening match in the UEFA Champions League against Atalanta BC at the Estadio de la Cerámica on Tuesday night.

In late May, Chukwueze underwent an operation to fix an injury to his left leg, an ailment that saw him miss the Europa League showpiece versus Manchester United.

The 2015 U17 World Cup winner sustained a muscle injury during the second leg of the 2020-2021 Europa League semifinal at Arsenal, only for him to suffer a relapse in the days leading up to the final in Gdansk.
Speaking at Monday’s press conference, Emery said on Chukwueze: “He’s going a little bit slower than we wanted to and we still want to go cautiously with him.”
Chukwueze has missed the four competitive matches contested by Villarreal in the new season and was left out of the Super Eagles roster for their World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde this month.

Rohr is expected to name his squad for the double header against Central African Republic before the end of September.

SportsMo Salah Becomes Second African To Score 100 Premier League Goals by Adejoke123(op): 9:34am On Sep 13, 2021
Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah joined the premier league elite club 100 after his first half strike against Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah has become the 30th player to reach 100 goals in the Premier League after opening the scoring in Liverpool’s clash with Leeds United.

The Egyptian joins a club which is currently led by Alan Shearer when turning in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s low cross from close range at Elland Road.

Salah’s 100th goal came in his 162nd appearance in the Premier League, with only Shearer, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Thierry Henry reaching the milestone quicker than the Liverpool man.

The 29-year-old scored his first Premier League goal for Chelsea, in a London derby win over Arsenal. He netted only one other goal for the Blues before heading to Italy for spells with Fiorentina and Roma.

Liverpool lured him back to England in 2017, and he took his career to new heights at Anfield.

He helped the Reds win the title in the 2019-20 season and despite the club disappointing in their defence Salah continued to impress and he became the first Liverpool player to score 20 goals in three different Premier League campaigns.

Didier Drogba is the only other African to hit 100 Premier League goals, and the Ivorian’s record of 104 will be in Salah’s sights.

SportsNewcastle Players Beg For Ronaldo Jersey by Adejoke123(op): 4:26pm On Sep 12, 2021
Two Newcastle players begged for the Jersey of the Portuguese icon after Saturday’s defeat to Manchester United.

Captain Jamaal Lascelles and Joelinton spoke to the returning icon after the game and some furious Toon fans believe they asked for his jersey.

Adam Crafton of The Athletic tweeted that he thought he saw ‘more than one’ Newcastle player ask Ronaldo for his jersey after the game.

The suspicion was reaffirmed by Rory Smith of the New York Times, who thought Lascelles asked before ‘someone else’ tried to nab it off the skipper.

Video footage suggests that the player is Joelinton, with Ronaldo appearing to point at another player and telling him the shirt’s already been taken.

There’s every chance the players were just congratulating the Man Utd star after his stunning second Prem debut, scoring a brace against Newcastle.
