Joshater: mathematics isn't compulsory sir.. Only English Language is compulsory.. amd from the list of subjects you'd be given to select from, mathematics may be your favourable option.. Cos you can't write physics, chemistry, biology or history... For me I think the Maths questions are kind of straight forward if you can take time to study... If you study real hard from the beginning Years, by the time you get to 2010, out of 40 questions you should be able to look at at least 20-25 and get the answer without solving anything anywhere.. Sir I wouldn't like to consider mathematics because I am very poor at it is there any alternative I could sit for in JAMB or could I include literature? Thanks in anticipation |

DrBESTJC: Alright.
I've got one already...
ENGLISH
Fill in the gap with the correct option.
We hold that the nation, both in its public and private sectors,..........the best consultancy service in all its endeavours. (A) deserve (B) deserves (C) is deserving (D) are deserving (E) richly deserve
I know the answer is most probably (B),but my problem is whether the subject, THE NATION can be taken as SINGULAR or PLURAL knowing that a nation encompasses many people and things.
Please I need the CORRECT answer from the English gurus here. Sorry this may be late but in my own opinion and according to Concord a singular subject must be followed by a singular verb.So the answer should be (B) |
