Please I went for my interview in October and I am still waiting for a decision.

But now my DHL return envelope has expired as it it more than 3 months I purchased it, and the embassy will not be able to return my passport to me.,

and secondly my 15 months health insurance coverage is now remaining 11 months, though I have updated the start date to January 2026. Please what should I do? should I contact the embassy? please is there anyone with similar situation, your advice will be very helpful.

Check your email inbox and spam to see if the asked you to come for another interview? because I was asked to come for a second interview after 3 weeks of my first interview, the sent me an email and I saw it on my spam, but that was before the website upgrade.

If they didnt send you any email, then you don't need to do anything. don't book another appointment. your portal will soon change to 'decision pending'.

Meanwhile what was it showing before the upgrade after your interview?

My brother you are not specific with your problem. But let me advice: On the portal there are two places you upload your school document. 1: School reports and 2: University degree. You are mean't to upload the following documents under the respective places as indicated below.

School report: FSLC, WAEC, NECO (Combine these documents in one pdf and upload here)
University degree: University Degree Certificate and Your degree Transcript (Combine the two documents in one pdf and upload here)

Are you saying, everyone who's gotten the opportunity card had a reference from germany?

I wouldn't know everyone who got opportunity card visa. But my advice to you is to get a reference in german, as the embassy need someone in Germany whom they can reach if you have any issue. anybody can be your reference. Brother, friends etc

I have not gotten a reply o . They are still with my passport. This is over 6 weeks I submitted my passport at the embassy

Your reference person must be living in Germany. I would suggest you update your videx form and replace your reference person with someone in germany and then upload his German resident permit or National Id card and German passport if he is a German Citizen.
Concerning the affidavit from you parents. I believe it relates to your birth certificate, you need to go to any high court in Nigeria and get an affidavit of birth attestation sworn by your father or your mother if your father is deceased. Then for the name inconsistency, you also need an affidavit from the high court sworn by you stating the names and clarifying that all the names belongs to you.

I got feedback from the embassy today, one of the corrections they're asking is to upload the resident permit of my reference in germany, the reference i submitted is in america, not sure how to go about this.

I do have colleagues who're willing to do this, I just wanna be sure it won't contradict my application. I also just cancelled the apartment i booked, I booked it a year ago and would have been charged this year, so my question is, is this the person's resident permit they need? not sure they'd feel comfortable handing it out.

They also requested for a parent's attestation/affidavit and a reconciliation of names, {one name came before the other in waec and testimonial}.

Anyone here who's scaled through the resident permit upload should pls help out.

Yes you have to take the prepaid DHL envelop along with the other original documents to your interview

If you were born after 1992, then you can submit your original birth certificate (hand written) if it was issued by NPC through your local govt. your birth cert must come from NPC. If the one issued by your local govt has Nation Population Commission as the Heading, then it is very okay, else you will need one from NPC. every other person born before 1992 will need an attestation letter from NPC, and the affidavit should be sworn by your father or Mother if father is deceased.

Did you make the purchase at the interview Office or directly through the courier's office.

Dhl office, tell them you want a self prepaid envelop for German embassy visa application. They know what to do. Mine cost me about 26k to Owerri. the cost will depend on your location, I mean the City where your document will be shipped/returned to from Lagos(German Embassy)

retain permanent residency outside Germany: now that's a tricky one, my response was yes, cos I aint bout to give up my residence for a place I am not sure of
answered yes for health insurance, but I purchased it after I picked an interview date.
I used the city I intended to stay in + a random postcode in same city
For the dates, just choose a close estimate to when you can actually go if you get the visa.
