How TuPac's Shooter was CAUGHT after 30 Years!

2Pac Shakur’s mum, Afeni Shakur had an affair outside of her marriage and gave birth to 2Pac while her husband, Lumumba Shakur was in detention. It seems 2pac Shakur had controversy following him even before he was born. 2Pac’s full name is Tupac Amaru Shakur but that was not the name his mother registered him with at his time of birth. She rather used ‘’Lesane Parish Crooks’’ as the birth name of 2Pac. The name ‘’Crooks’’ she picked from the surname of her female cell mate when she was in prison. She gave 2Pac a totally different name from hers to avoid him from being associated with the Black Panther group and movement in the United States of America in the 1970’s which she, herself was a very active member.

On the night of September 7th, 1996 at approximately 11:15pm, in Paradise, Nevada, near a Las Vegas strip Club, 2Pac Amaru Shakur was shot! The bullets struck him four times; at the arm, the thigh and twice in the chest! He survived and made it to the hospital but gave up 6 days later on the 13th of September, 1996. Before this happened, 2pac has been shot 5 times on November 30th, 1994 at Quad Studios in Times Square, New York City but he survived. He accused Seam Combs that is P Diddy, Jimmy Henchman and Notorious B.I.G who was previously his bosom friend of being behind the setup and shooting. 2pac and few friends of his had also been involved with a gun shootout with two police officers whom were brothers in Atlanta 1993. Like why was everyone shooting 2pac up and down?
This video is about how 2pac’s final shooters were caught after nearly 30 years but for you to know why 2pac Shakur was always targeted, we have to go back in history to understand what 2Pac represented, his life, fame and several other controversies that may have led to this murder of a 25 year old young man who is still being considered as the best rapper of all time.
2Pac was born on 16th June, 1971 in East Harlem, Manhattan, New York City, he was the only child and does not have any full biological siblings. He however had several step siblings. 2Pac Shakur also sadly died without having any biological child of his but his fame and musical success has always made him remembered till date. He released his first official single titled ‘’Same song’’ and also his debut solo album 2Pacalypse on November 12th, 1991 at the age of 20. However, before this time, 2Pac had recorded songs as a teenager around 1987-1988 under the stage name ‘’MC New York’’ 2Pac Shakur later went on to release 11 studio album, 4 was released during his life time and 7 released after his death. He did not win any Grammy awards however he received about 6-7 nominations during his and after lifetime. In 2026 he was inducted into the Gammy Hall of Fame for his landmark double album; All Eyes on me. 2pac is a well decorated and successful rapper who sold more than 75 million record copies with over 40 million copies sold in the United States alone and won several notable musical awards like MOBO awards, American Music Awards, Library of Congress etcetera. 2pac was associated and signed to two major record labels during his musical career – Interscope Records (1991-1995) and Death Row Records (1995-1996). He was also an actor and debuted his acting career in the movie titled ‘’Nothing but trouble’’ in 1991. He also acted in several other movies.
As the success and fame of 2Pac rose, so was his troubles and controversies, on 13th November, 1993, him and two other men were charged with sodomizing a woman named ‘’Ayanna Jackson’’ he was also charged with Weapon possession. 2Pac maintained his innocence but was found guilty of first degree sexual abuse in the Court of Law on the 1st of December, 1994 but was acquitted of Sodomy and weapon possession. Pac was sentenced to 1.5 to 4.5 years in Prison on February 7th 1995. He served roughly 8-9 months in prison before been released on bail of $1.4 million dollars paid by Death Row record label CEO Suge Knight while awaiting his appeal.
Another major controversy that 2Pac Shakur faced was the 1994 Quad Studios shooting where he was robbed of $40,000 in Jewelry and shot 5 times in the lobby of Quad Studios in Manhattan, New York City. This particular event leads to the popular controversy between 2Pac and Notorious BIG as 2pac believed Biggie ie Notorious BIG and his team were behind the shooting. The East Side and West Side musical and personal rivalry was also caused by this shooting event and intensified after Notorious BIG released a song titled ‘’Who Shot Ya’’ in February, 1995 mocking 2pac’s Quad studio shooting but then in June, 1996 2pac released his own diss track tittled ‘’Hit Them Up’’ targeted at Notorious BIG, Sean Combs and the whole of Bad Boy records which was a major East Side based record label. 2Pac was of course West coast or West side under Death Row Records.
Now let’s talk about the murder of 2Pac amidst all these controversies and gang-affiliated music group battles between the East-Coast and West-Coast. 2Pac and his entourage had gone to watch Mike Tyson boxing match on the evening of September 7th 1996 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Legas. After the match, 2Pac and his team spotted a 22 year old man named Orlando Anderson who was a member of the South Side Compton Crips – an African-American Gang group based in the South Eastern and Eastern parts of California. 2Pac Shakur and his team physically assaulted Anderson and left. Meanwhile, Anderson’s uncle named Duane "Keffe D" Davis was a high ranking member of the gang of South Side Compton Crips and he immediately sort to retaliate the assault on his nephew.
That same night around 11:15pm, 2pac was in a Car driven by his record Boss ie Death Row Record Label’s Boss Suge Knight and was temporarily stopped by a Red traffic Light in Paradise, Nevada (near Las Vegas). A white Cadillac Car ambushed them and opened fire, 2pac who was sitting on the passenger was hit 4 times, Suge Knight was also shot but survived. 2Pac died 6 days later due to internal injuries and respiratory failure resulting from the Shooting. Now how exactly was the shooter caught? The exact person whom fired the shot at 2Pac has not be officially caught nor convicted. However, Duane "Keffe D" Davis claimed in several interviews and in his 2019 book titled Compton Street Legend that he was the one who drove the white Cadillac Car that ambushed and shot at 2pac. He also claimed he provided the gun which that his nephew Orlando Anderson used in shooting and murdering 2Pac Shakur. Keffe D has severally bragged about his involvement in the murder of 2Pac including making a Youtube video on it and in 2023 he got arrested. 3 years later on the 31st of August, 2026, he was found guilty of first degree murder with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to 40 years to life imprisonment on the 13th of October, 2026. On September 19th, 1996. Mr. Innocent Ekeanyanwu, a 32 year old hotel gardener with link or ties Black Scorpion cult group lured an eleven year old schoolboy and groundnut hawker, Anthony Ikechukwu Okoronkwo into a hotel, Mr. Innocent Ekeanyanwu gave him a bottle of drink which he had spiked with drugs, he little boy drank and became unconscious, Mr Innocent carried him into the hotel and cut off his head! After decapitating him, he also removed his liver and penis. He then dismembered the body and buried the remains within the hotel premises. The name of the hotel is Otokoto Hotel located in Owerri, Imo state and owned by Chief Vincent Duru AKA Otokoto!

after he murdered and dismembered the young boy, he took the severed head and left for Eziama in that same Imo state to deliver to a man known as Leonard Unaogu, whom was also said to be a member of the Black scorpion secret society. Unfortunately for Mr. Innocent, Mr. Leonard Unaogu was not around to receive the package and he had to go back. At this time, blood had started dripping from the Nylon that contained the young boy’s head and an Okada rider known as Hilary Opara noticed the dripping blood and alerted the Police. Mr. Innocent was arrested and hear is a photo of him with the boys head.
Now, the thing is, Mr. Innocent after his arrest was willing to corporate with the Police and to voice out all his other accomplices in the crime but just three days later, he was found dead in the Police custody and this just silenced him from giving the full information to the Police. Autopsy revealed he was poisoned. Three Police officers were arrested, convinced and sentenced to death for their role in the death of Mr. Innocent Ekeanyanwu but before Mr. Innocent died in Police custody, he already mentioned his Boss’s name Mr. Vincent Duru (AKA Otokoto) and also named Chief Leonard Unaogu, whom he had gone to deliver the human head to as some of his partners in crime. With that, the two men were arrested, alongside several other people.

Now this particular incident is neither the first, second nor third to have happened in Otokoto hotel as several bodies were later discovered when their evil acts were exposed. This is a full documentary of the story of the famous Otokoto of the South Eastern Nigeria in the 1990’s.
In the 1990’s Owerri in Imo state has always been known to be peaceful compared to other South Eastern big cities like Aba and Onitsha. However, Crime gently stated creeping in and happening in Owerri and in 1995, the children of some wealthy, influential and prominent residents of Owerri started missing. It was reported that children of prominent medical doctors; Darlington Amamasi and Omaka Okoh, were kidnapped, other people whose children also went missing were engineer E.C. Adiele, Chime Nzeribe alongside others. The kidnappers reached out, ransom was paid and still most of the kids never made it back to their parents.

When the general public heard about the killing of the young boy Anthony Ikechukwu Okoronkwo and also heard about the death of the killer Mr. Innocent Ekeanyanwu in Police custody, they went gaga and were so infuriated. They knew some Police men had done some foul play in collaboration with the principal suspect in silencing the killer, Mr. Innocent. This lead to the famous 1996 Otokoto riot where the general public matched to Otokoto’s hotel and destroyed and burned it and in the process of evacuating the damages and debris in the hotel, more dead bodies was discovered buried in shallow graves within the hotel premises.
More and more properties, luxury home and Cars belonging to Otokoto were destroyed while he was in Police detention and not just his properties but also that of Chief Leonard Unaogu. The traditional ruler, Eze Onu Egwu Nwoke's palace and cars were also destroyed.
On the 9th of December, 1996, the trial of Okokoto and Mr. Leonard Unaogu started and lasted for 6 years and on February, 2003, they both were sentenced to death by Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme. After the sentencing in 2003, it took another 13 years before Otokoto executed. The two men alongside a few others were executed by hanging on November, 2016 this was 20 years after their arrest and like I said before 13 years after their death sentence was pronounced.
Now you may think the story has ended but no! The son of Chief Vincent Duru (AKA Otokoto) upon further investigation was also found to be a member of the Black Scorpion society, he was arrested, charged, convicted and also sentenced to death by firing squad most likely for his involvement in his father’s clandestine and murder case. His name is Obicheozor Duru. As for Chief Leonard Unaogu, he died in detention under mysterious circumstances after several years in detention.
The killing of the eleven year old boy Anthony Ikechukwu Okoronkwo was highly blamed not just on the direct killers but also on the Owerri State Police command of 1996. The residents of Owerri accused the then Imo state's Commissioner of Police, David Abure of lack of concern in the security of the State. It is also worthy to state that the then Inspector General of Police Mr Ibrahim Coomassie did some great job in the arrest of some kidnappers in Imo state prior to the killing of the young school boy.
Mr Vincent Duru (AKA Otokoto) before he was arrested, exposed and executed was seen by the public as a legitimate business man and hotelier, whom had several structures all around Owerri in Imo state. After the destruction of almost everything that the residents of Owerri believed he has built while also being involved in ritual-murdering, the then military administrator of Imo state in 1996, Colonel Tanko Zubairu established a panel to look into the riots that lead to the destruction of the properties of Otokoto and after about 3 weeks of meetings and delibration, Colonel Tanko Zubairu issued a verdict to seize all the remaining properties belonging to Mr. Vincent Duru (AKA Otokoto).
