The planned arraignment of a former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, over a N4.9 billion money laundering allegation, was stalled Tuesday by the absence of the trial judge.

Inflation in Nigeria rose to a more than six-year high in May, hitting 15.6 percent, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.

The rise in the headline consumer price index, which measures inflation, accelerated by 1.9 points from its April year-on-year level of 13.7 percent, the NBS said in an emailed statement.

In an act of bravery that was caught on camera, Iraqi police say they averted another massacre in Baghdad by nabbing an alleged Islamic State group militant before he detonated his bomb vest.
