Provide evidence of scholarship

In your personal statement of account, there must be evidence that your business is actually paying you salary or allowance monthly and at least 3 months bank statement to show how you transferred from business, account to personal account, cos you'll be asked to provide explanation or origin

You need

1. Cover letter
2. Personal account statement
3. Savings account statement
4. Company account statement
5. Evidence of your strong ties with Nigeria or Italy
6. Insurance not needed in UKVI application
Well received, thank you so much!

How are you supporting yourself in Italy as a noncitizen?

How's your business also doing financially?

UKVI are interested in how you feed January to December, so you'll not japa and become liability.

A clean account that shows self sustainability or external support is what's required in your case, as one aspect is settled (previous travel to European Economic Area)
Thank you for this
1. I’ve a full school scholarship sustaining me
2. Business is thriving, I’m able to support myself further with it. Can I attach my Nigerian account statement and my savings statement to support?
3. I’ll be visiting for two days, do I need to get an insurance?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Adetoku3: 12:39pm On Jan 05, 2025
Happy Sunday everyone, I’ll be applying to visit the Uk for a conference in March and also for sightseeing. I will be applying from Italy because I’m currently a student here. I also own a study abroad consultancy in Nigeria. What documents do you think I can use to support my claims. I’d really appreciate any advice.

You fall under Lagos, mail them August 19th to request for a date.

But its so hard to get appointment for legalization. I've been trying since April and they keep saying fully booked.
TLS also rejected my documents because they haven't been legalized.
How do i get them legalized before my nulla osta expires
Right now, they’re fully booked until August 19th before you can apply again for a date for legalization. You can try mailing them again and attach your nulla osta emphasizing the expiration of your document.

Thanks alot!
Pls do you know anyone that has used a Micro finance bank statement without any issue? That's what I plan to use.
You can’t use a Microfinance Bank for your proof of funds. You need a commercial/recognized bank. The mfb bank can just be additional savings account that can be used alongside your personal bank account. Transfer the money from your mfb to your personal bank and show the source of the funds.

Good day, please i am a business owner and i don't operate my personal account much compare to my business account. Please can i use my business account bank statement and more so won't they ask of my personal account bank statement?
You can’t submit a business account without a savings account, as it is believed that you might not be the only one that owns the business. Move the money from your business account to your savings account and then you submit both statement of account. Explain all lump sums and attach your CAC certificate.

[quote author=Believe13 post=130911581]Thanks for your response.
Like how much is advisable to put in the account?
Also, if she transfer a lumpsum days before my application, won't it raise suspicion?

The Italian government stipulates that students show 6079 euros according to their duration of stay in Italy. If you’re going for masters, that’s times 2 and bachelor’s times 3. Submitting your application days after lump sum comes into your account is a red flag to the consulate. Allow the lump sum to sit well in your account before you proceed to submit your visa application or you spilt the money before sending into your account.

Hi everyone,
Pls how many months does it take to process the student visa?

Also, if my aunt is sponsoring my education . How much should be in her bank statement? We don't have same surname.

Thanks .
Currently it takes 4-5weeks to get a decision from the consulate. The Italian government stipulates that the only recognized sponsors are either yourself or your parents. In this case, if your aunt is sponsoring you, let her send the money into your account and you in-turn show a valid proof of relationship between yourself and your aunt. The source of the money is what they look out for.

The embassy would have given you a call by now, but you can send them an email to know the status of your application. They called my cousin to ask him to move his date further because it was too soon (exactly 15 working days from his submission) and the processing wasn’t done. We are hoping he will get a positive response.
When did your cousin submit his application?

I’d advise that you search for Nigerian Scholars in Italy on LinkedIn, you’ll see some programs that are still opened for the September intake.

Did you mail the visa office prior to your travel date? Are you also a frequent traveler? You can easily send an email to them to inquire about the status of your application. But I’d advise that you exercise patience while they work on your application. lagos.visa@esteri.it

Hello guys,
Please I need your help. I recently got admission to a masters degree program at a private university in Italy. I'm currently translating my documents to italian. I have a few questions
1) concerning the return ticket stated in the visa requirements. Do I need to book a return ticket or can I just book a one way ticket because booking a return ticket in 2 years time seems unlikely

2) how do I show proof of accommodation. Do I need to pay rent for an apartment, show contract with landlord or just book a hotel reservation. Because i will land at the milan airport but my school is in cremona

3) do I need health insurance, if yes, what insurance companies do you recommend

4) does anybody know any reliable travel agency to italy that can help me with accommodation

Thank you in advance
1. You are to book a dummy return ticket for a year e.g August 26th 2024 - July 25th 2025. Not two years!
2. You can book a dummy accommodation on booking.com, you can use a gtb card to do that. Do not pay for accommodation or flight until your visa has been approved!
3. Yes you need health insurance, you can book via Allianz website, it cost 24,922
4. You don’t need any travel agent, it’s strictly DIY
5. I believe you’ve authenticated your documents in Abuja, you’re to send a mail to the embassy to legalize all your documents including your birth certificate, then you can proceed to apply for a visa.

Any Advice on this?
Legalize it, send a mail to the consulate and book a date for legalization. Right now, they’ve been giving dates for legalization, I’d advise you send a mail again to them.

Don't forget translation
Yes that’s right, translate all the documents you’re legalizing to Italian and cross check when you get the translated documents. The list of recommended translators are on the Italian consulate’s website.

please I want to do My bachelor's certificate e Apostille and declaration of value... I need help and steps to take.
You need to first of all authenticate your educational and non-educational documents like birth certificate at the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja. Translate all your authenticated documents to Italian. The list of recommended translators are on the consulate’s website. Then you send a mail to the consulate on lagos.consolare@esteri.it to book a date for legalization in order to get a DOV.

Hello my people,
I'm planning to apply for a study visa for my Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's program. However, I'm unsure about the birth certificate requirement. The TLS website only mentions needing a birth certificate, but it doesn't clarify if legalization is necessary.
Based on your experiences, has anyone successfully applied for a visa without legalizing their birth certificate?
I plan to get my birth certificate authenticated and translated, but obtaining a legalization appointment is taking a long time. Since the requirement isn't explicitly stated, I'm wondering if it's worth submitting the application without legalization for now.
You may or may not legalize it. It’s not a compulsory requirement for a study visa.

Hello, my nulla osta was issued in march with a 6 months validity period. my marriage certificate had been authenticated in Abuja and also translated. But the Italian consulate are fully booked for appointments for legalization till July
And my tls visa appointment is in July, what can I do?
You need to mail the Italian consulate in Lagos and attach your nulla osta informing them about the validity of your document. With this, they will understand the urgency of your request. I’d advise you use another email in sending this request to the consulate.
