The overwhelming support shown by the Kogi populace at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, headquarters Abuja office is a clear demonstration of their belief in the new governor elect victory, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Global Times Nigeria reports that the citizens who actively participated in the democratic process and expressing their support for their chosen leader were in Abuja to defend their mandate and as well commend INEC for a thorough job.

Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who was the special guest of honour at the occasion, lambasted some politicians whom he described as selfish, greedy and unpatriotic for causing the delay in the implementation of the laudable programme of the Buhari administration.

He said because of the popularity of the programme, some leaders introduced political, sectional, ethnic and religious sentiments just to blackmail the federal government with a view to destroying the lofty grains that will accrue to the downtrodden.

Petrol Tanker Explosion: Kwara Thrown Into Mourning, 6 Persons Killed, 30 Houses Destroys


The petrol tanker said to be travelling through the ancient town had skid and spilled its contents as it rammed into residential buildings, eyes witness confirmed.
