Sensation55:You are welcome |
Sensation55:Sir, kindly check JAMB brochure. You can visit JAMB site for the brochure |
asuustrike1:Thanks. I will make a post on JAMB brochure. |
Passionate888:Read my post before making any comment, I'm very sure you didn't read the post.... |
asuustrike1:You are right. More reason i made more emphasis on checking JAMB brochure to check out for the universities that accept or do not accept two sittings. |
stano2:Yeah, more reason i said that the candidate should check JAMB brochure before making any move |
ojay36:Sure. |
Bushyhair:Advise him to check JAMB brochure before filling in for engineering course. If Uniport accept two sittings, then he should go ahead with his registration. |
@ADMISSIONTIPZ I know alot of aspirants are about to use two sittings for JAMB 2019 registration, I am not writing this blog post to discourage you. I just want to enlighten you on why you should not use two sittings result. If you are first timer of writing JAMB exam, you might not know what i meant by "Two sittings result ", i will explain before going into why i think two sitting results are not advisable. WHAT IS TWO SITTINGS RESULT Two sitting result is like combining two results of different exams because you probably didn't have good grade in the subject you need. For example, Ade wrote WAEC in 2015 and he failed Mathematics which is a compulsory subject, then he will have to re-sit for another o'level exam (WAEC, NECO,GCE) , if he then fail English Language but pass Mathematics , then he will combine both of them together . As simple as that!!! Now going into the reasons why two sittings is not advisable; Read Also - How to register for JAMB 2019 https://www.nairaland.com/4950787/jamb-2019-how-register-jamb UNABLE TO APPLY FOR COMPETITIVE COURSES This is the plain truth, you won't be able to apply for competitive courses like medicine, law, engineering and so on. Apart from the number of candidates that usually choose the course, the school you choosed might also reject two sittings for such courses. For example, In UI, you can't apply for medicine with two sittings result, your admission will be terminated during the clearance immediately they know you are using two sittings result. DIFFICULTY TO GAIN ADMISSION INTO TOP UNIVERSITIES IN NIGERIA You know top universities like UNILAG, UI, OAU, it might be a little difficult to apply and finally gain admission into them because of the high number of candidates that usually choose them. IT LIMITS YOUR OPTIONS As you should know that a candidate with one sitting result can choose any school or course, such opportunity is not available for those with two sittings result. At this point , JAMB Brochures should be your best friend because it will show you the schools and courses you can apply for. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO You can kindly register for the ongoing WAEC registration and read hard to pass all required subjects. But if you cant afford to register again, you can go on to apply because alot of candidates have been admitted despite using two sittings result, you should just make sure you check the JAMB brochures very well before you select any school or course. http://admissiontipz..com/2019/01/two-sittings-result-2019.html?m=1

@AdmissionTipz JAMB 2019 registration will begin January 10,2019 according to what the registrar of JAMB said. This post is for candidates that have not yet apply or are finding it hard to understand how to register for JAMB 2019. STEP 1- The first thing you will do, is to create a confirmation code with your phone, by sending your "Surname Firstname Othername" to 55019. They will charge you #50 for the SMS. @AdmissionTipz Most of the aspirants usually make some mistakes that can cost them their admission, you really don't want it to happen to you , do you? You might ask yourself, what are the possible mistakes that cost me my admission the previous years (if you have done JAMB before) ? I will be talking about those mistakes on this post, stay tuned!!! Now back to the main topic, what are the mistakes that can possibly cost you your admission in 2019? Wrong Subject Combination This is the major mistake that alot of aspirants make every year. The use of brochure in the preparation of JAMB exam should never be underestimated. Imagine how sad it will be when you beat the cut off mark for your course and you are been rejected all because of wrong subject combination. One thing about this mistake is that, after you have sat down for your JAMB exam, there is no longer a solution to this mistake except you decide to change your course to the one that conform with the subject combination. Click Here To Check JAMB Brochure https://www.jamb.gov.ng/brochure.aspx Wrong O'level Result This mistake is also common among the aspirants and can surely cost an aspirant his or her admission. You may ask that how can you make such mistake?, it is very possible. It is either the person who registered you for JAMB did mistake while filling it, or you intentionally did it to scale through or to try your luck. The interesting part is that, you might be admitted but you can't escape it when you are doing your registration in school, you can't. If you are an aspirant with two sittings, you can use it although some courses require one sitting. Click here to read on how some students where expelled because of fake results https://www.nairaland.com/4390479/62-students-rusticated-12-expelled Wrong Information There are alot of information going here and there, mostly fake news. Most aspirants usually believe fake information without actually making research of it. There was a case of an aspirant i met in the CyberCafe, he was registering for POST UME. Then something painful happened, he paid the registration fee and later discovered that the school he was processing does not accept "second choice candidates ". The money he paid has gone because it was boly written on the school site that the money is non refundable after been paid. Painful, isn't it? If you want to get the real and original information, you can reach out to me by checking my contact page or you can check the blog from time to time. Inconsistent Age In Your Documents You are 17 in your WAEC certificate, 18 in your birth certificate and maybe 19 in your JAMB registration form, then you need nobody to tell you that something will be wrong somewhere. Age is an important factor during admission processes, some schools don't joke with it. You might have seen some school write on their website that they do not admit anyone less than 16 years old. Click here to read a news about a boy who passed JAMB and WAEC but was rejected admission because of his Age http://www.informationng.com/2018/09/15-year-old-boy-who-passed-jamb-waec-with-as-denied-university-admission.html Wrong Spelling Of Name This mistake can be corrected even after you have sat down for you JAMB exam, you will just have to go to any nearest JAMB office to edit your name. You might be charged for it. But nevertheless, you should take note that your name is well spelt during your JAMB registration. If you need to ask any questions, just comment below. http://admissiontipz..com/2018/12/mistakes-to-avoid-admission-2019.html?m=1

@ADMISSIONTIPZ Choosing the right school to study is as important as choosing the right course to study. In my previous post, I talked about "Things to consider when choosing a course ", if you didn't read it, kindly click here. https://www.nairaland.com/4889847/jamb-2019-things-consider-when-choosing#73619930 In this post, i will be focusing on things a student or an aspirant must consider before choosing the school ". But before i go deep into the topic, let me ask you this question " Can you create your own JAMB profile account? " If your answer is "No" then read it here but if your answer is "Yes" ,then i will say kudos to you then. http://admissiontipz..com/2018/12/create-jamb-profile-account.html Back to the topic, during JAMB registration, you will be asked to choose four institutions which comprises of "First choice" , "Second choice" , "Third choice" and "Fourth choice". Let me educate your on what to do; First choice university - You are advised to choose a federal University if you are not a type that is financially buoyant. You can pick schools like OAU, UI, UNILAG and other federal Universities in Nigeria. Second choice university - In this part, you are advised to choose either a state owned university or a polytechnics. In this part, you MUST not choose any federal universities especially UI, OAU, UNN, UNILAG and others, because no matter what you score, you wont be allowed to write the POST UME exam. You can pick schools like EKSU, OOU, DELSU and for polytechnic; YABATECH, Ibadan Poly, Ilaro Poly and others. Third choice University - The option of schools in this category is not much, but you can just pick the one that best suit your taste based on location and tuition fee. Fourth choice University - In this category, you wont see any university here, you will see Vocational institutes like PEFTI institutes, Computer Programming institutes and others. Now i am sure you already have idea about what choosing a university or institute in the four categories look like. The question you should now ask yourself is which school is the best for me? Which school will be easier for me to get admitted based on the look of things? Which school will have adequate facilities for my course of study? All those questions will be answered in this post, just read carefully. Below are the things you should consider when choosing a university ; ADMISSION PROCESS OF THE SCHOOL Every schools have their method of processing admission. Some use the screening point calculated from your JAMB score and o'level result, some use POST UME and JAMB score to calculate your screening point, while some use only your POST UME score, so whatever way, you should be able to know the one which suit you well. RANKING OF THE SCHOOL You might think that this doesn't matters, it really does alot. If you want to check your School ranking in Nigeria and in the world, click here. This should help you in deciding which school you should choose. http://www.webometrics.info/en/africa/nigeria COMPETITIVE Generally, all top federal universities are competitive ranging from 30,000 to over 40,000 aspirants choosing a particular school competing for minimum slot ( survival of the fittest). SCHOOL CALENDAR This should not be new to any aspirants that Nigerian universities don't have a uniform resumption date (their resume dates are different). Most times, some schools are ahead of another schools with one semester or less. You won't like to be at home while your friends in other schools are almost done with first semester. CONDUCIVE Not all universities in Nigeria are conducive for learning, instead they are like burden to the students. Make sure you make some findings on the school facilities like their hostel, lecture room, equipment and others. And Lastly; LOCATION I intentionally save this for the last because students are fond of choosing a school very far from their home, someone living in lagos is studying in abia state which is ought not to be. When choosing a school, consider your safety when traveling to such destinations. From the above, i said you should consider "the location of the school , how conducive the school is, their school calendar, how competitive the school is, the ranking of the school and the way the admission is processed ". http://admissiontipz..com/2018/12/choosing-a-school-jamb-2019.html?m=1

@AdmissionTipz I want to be a doctor because my daddy or my brother is a doctor, therefore i must study medicine, I want to be a Lawyer because my sister or mum is a lawyer, therefore i must study Law. The above statement has become an anthem in almost every aspirants lip, no wonder Medicine and Law are the most sought courses in every university in Nigeria, where you see over 10,000 aspirants competing for 100 quota ( survival for the fittest). In this post, i want to discuss the things to be considered in choosing the right course in JAMB 2019. This post will open your eye to see if you are academically fit for the fierce competition for Medicine or Law. POST OUTLINES In this post, i will be stating out reasons on; Things you should consider when choosing a career/course. Things you should not consider when choosing a career/course. Before discussing the main topic , i will love to tell you what happens when you study the course of your dream and when you study the course of your father's dream. When you choose the right course; -You will have target to meet up with. -You will never get tired of the course, you will always find it as fun. -You will feel successful studying such course -You will love your career since it is what you love to do (passion). -You won't regret living everyday of your life When you choose the wrong course; - No particular plan for the future -You will live with regrets. -You will be depressed. -You won't find your career as fun. -You will feel unsuccessful. Looking at those points i listed above, i am very certain you will love to choose the right course/career. Who doesn't want a successful career? Of course, everyone want to be successful one way or the other, i assure you that reading this post will be the beginning of your success. Now let us go into the post outline for this topic, i hope you are reading carefully because this is where you will know how to choose a career/course. THINGS YOU SHOULD NOT CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A COURSE/CAREER The Career/Course is Lucrative: Alot of aspirants fill in medicine in JAMB because they think that studying such course and becoming a doctor is the end of the poverty life, sometimes things might not turn out the way you expected it. Studying a course based of the fact that it is a lucrative course, then sorry to say, you have just made your worst mistake ever. The Career is Popular: Alot of students want to be hailed as a brilliant dude, hence they fill in for courses like medicine, Law etc. Some want to feel among, but hey, don't study a course because of it popularity. A word is enough for the wise. Family influence : I have seen families dictates for their children the kind of course they want them to study. Most times, they will want their children to study the course they studied in school or popular courses like medicine and surgery or law or banking and finance. This kind of situation can be so frustrating because i have once experience it , but how did i solve the problem? I had to sit my parents down and tell them that the course they want me to study is my weakness, that i will fail woefully in that course. Pour your mind out to them, make them see reasons why you can't study the course. Take a decision today that will make you happy tomorrow because your family won't be there for you forever. THINGS YOU SHOULD CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A COURSE/CAREER Your best subject: This also play a vital role when choosing your course/career. For instance, if your best subjects are physics and mathematics, then you should focus on courses based on those two subjects like engineering course. Knowing your best subject will restrict you from choosing courses that are not relevant, for instance, a student that love mathematics and physics but detest biology and chemistry should know that he/she should remove courses like medicine and surgery from the option when choosing a course/career. Your passion: The whole list will be incomplete with this, passion. Choosing a course/career must be based on your passion. Ask yourself this questions; do i really want this course? Do i have any skills related to this course? Give an answer to these questions and you will be good to go. Everything is all about passion because you will easily get frustrated if you choose a course/career you don't have passion for. Check yourself!!! Your goals: I expect every average student to have a goal, i mean a life plan. You should find time to ask yourself what you really want to be in future, you can also seek advice from your parents or professional in different field , by doing this, you will garner more knowledge about the course/career you really want to study. Know your strength and weakness: Most students have their strengths and weaknesses one way or the other. It is rare for a student to be good in all areas. For instance, you might be good in mathematics (strength) and be finding biology very difficult (weakness). All this are important factors when deciding your course/career Let me engage you in a quick exercise by asking you some questions and i will be glad you give your answers in the comment box below. -What course do you wish to study? -What is your best subject? -Why did you prefer that course? -Apart from that course, what other course do you prefer? -Does the course correlate with your best subject? http://admissiontipz..com/2018/12/choosing-the-right-course.html?m=1
