Politics / Delta Speaker Renovated His Home With N88M by Adomamore: 10:02pm On May 20, 2013
Breaking News!
Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly Hon. Victor Ochie renovated his official residence with N85million . A house which was renovated with about N8million by Sam Obi barely two months before Ochie was elected speaker. We have a document in our possession which shows that Hon. Victor Ochie collected the sum of 85 million to renovate his official residence without the knowledge of other members of the house who got approval of N6million Naira each for the renovation of their official residence. A member of the State House of Assembly who spoke to us on condition of anonymity stated that the speaker didn't inform the house that the cost of renovating his official residence is different from the N6million approved for other members of the house. He call on EFCC to investigate the matter and prosecute the speaker if he actually inflated the cost of the renovation without following due process.

Politics / Ghost Casual Workers Presented To Governor  uduaghan For Approval by Adomamore: 7:02pm On May 06, 2013

GHOST CASUAL WORKERS PRESENTED TO GOVERNOR  UDUAGHAN FOR APPROVAL WHILE ORIGINAL CASUAL WORKERS WHO ARE ON GROUND IN THE VARIOUS MINISTRIES ARE LEFT IN THE DARK.
UDUAGHAN MUST ACT FAST TO SAVE HIS NAME .
This is not the first time the issue of ghost casual  workers has been raised in the Delta State Civil Service . Some time ago, the governor asked the ministries and directorates in the state to submit  list of casual workers in their ministries. The list was not only inflated but directors and permanent secretaries used names of their close relatives and friends to replace casual workers who are on ground working with the hope that their employment will be regularized. When the governor discovered that the list is at variance with what the government pays as monthly salary to casual workers, he rejected the list. and the HOS and his people went back into their drawing board to reduce the list. This time around, most workers who are working physically in the various ministries were not considered . We have been told of plans by casual workers in RDA to stage a protest against the government for this day light robbery perpetrated against them by the management of Rural Development Agency.
One of the casual workers who spoke on condition of anonymity said that most casual workers who were employed in 2007 have left the job because the salary is too small and others who made the list are no longer casual workers because they were employed into the civil service in the last employment exercise.
It may interest the governor to know that less than 15 casual workers are currently active in the head office of some ministries where 30 persons where allocated. This has created a lubsided arrangement and an avenue  for   employment racketeering by  PS and directors to the detriment of casual workers on ground. Some of the casual workers from Delta South and central who were deliberately excluded by the head of service by his 2007 formula stated that the 2007 bench mark used was to favour people from Delta North , adding that as at 2007 , there were only few people from Delta South and central in the civil service which is mainly dominated by people from Delta North. He call on the governor to re examine the list and distribute it by senatorial district as the Oghara people who are casuals that were deprived by the HOS are very angry with the governor by allowing their faith to be determined by directors who are predominantly from Delta North.
Statistics given by a casual worker who spoke on condition of anonymity shows that 15 out of the 35 allocated to RDA were employed in the last recruitment. 9 out of the 30 persons allocated to ministry of women affairs have been employed in the last employment exercise. 12 out of the 35 allocated to ministry of information were employed in the last employment. Our source stated that it is like that across all the ministries in the state.  Those vacancies  are to be replaced by brothers and relatives of directors and PS while other casual workers who were not captured by the formula used by the HOS are to be deprived. They call on the governor to wade into the matter by setting up a committee to investigate it and ensure that the employment is spread across the three senatorial district evenly.
