@all Meet my Co-founder, ComeBackKing

He brings a wealth of experience in both private and commercial aviation.
Notably, he’s been part of a team that launched an airline from scratch.

NOTORIOUS100 takes the win again this week!

Starting next week, we’re introducing a new rule:
No back-to-back wins – you can’t win two weeks in a row.

Let’s keep it competitive and give more people a chance.

For this week, congrats NOTORIOUS100

We are aware of this.

I’ll dive deeper into it in the business plan, which will be open source and open to public contributions.

But first thought: we’re exploring the math around a low-cost model (think Spirit or Ryanair) combined with a last-leg connector strategy similar to ASKY, but with stronger intent to collaborate with major international carriers (like Delta or United) to complete final-leg transit into secondary West African cities.

Right now, nothing is set in stone. We're still evaluating the economics carefully, but we believe:

- There’s underserved regional demand, especially for short-haul or poorly connected cities

- Transit bottlenecks and visa limitations create a niche for direct, no-frills, accessible routes

- A lean, tech-enabled airline can operate without chasing luxury or subsidies

Thanks @DisGuy, this kind of criticism is exactly why we’re building in public.

DisGuy:
Good,

so why Nigeria, do you reckon there's demand, high PPP for air travel or your target is Private flight?

📌 Task List for the Week
Quick update. Here’s what I’m focusing on this week:

✅ Follow up on trademark approval for Aircacao

📝 Start working on the business plan (it will be open source. The public can view, contribute, or even fork it)

📧 Set up corporate emails for core ops

🎨 Begin conversations with a branding agency for identity and visual direction

Remember everything we are doing will be shared; unless it’s something that must stay classified.

2 times startup founder, 1 reasonable (not so big) exit. My co-founder (withholding his name) is heavily involved in private aviation.

- We have been members of some very known tech accelerators,
- We have previously raised founds
- Co-founder is American
- My current startup has had features on CNN, BBC and most recently Bloomberg.

DisGuy:
Interesting

What have you done before?

Why “Aircacao”?
Cacao is West Africa’s most coveted export. It’s rich, global, and rooted here.

It represents the kind of value we create but rarely own.
My vision for Aircacao is to change that.
While it's not an export business, it’s about changing what we export the least, identity and access.
TravelRe: Building A Real Airline In Public (yes, Really) — Step-by-step Diary by aerolagos(op): 8:27am On Jun 14, 2025
Securing the Name
First things first; before CAC, before aircraft, before anything. I need to lock down the name.

A company name with CAC doesn’t give you absolute rights. Trademarks do. So here’s what I’ve done so far:

✅ Started the trademark registration for Aircacao

✅ Bought aircacao.com — there’s a quick-and-dirty landing page up (built with AI for now)

✅ Secured the handles on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok

✅ Also bought aerolagos.com — in case a future collaboration with Lagos State happens ( More on this once I make public my business plan)

The real work is just beginning, but this week was about staking my claim.

Next step: CAC registration + resolving the ₦2B share capital requirement.

I'm starting a real airline in Nigeria.

This thread will document every single step — from CAC to NCAA to branding, trademarks, aircraft, regulatory approvals, funding, and first flights.

Why am I building this in public?
- To lay the foundation for what may become the first open-source airline — everything will be shared except what must remain classified for legal or safety reasons.
- To stay accountable — every step of the way, I’ll drop an update. First comment of the week (from Sunday 00:00) gets ₦10,000 airtime or transfer.
- Because I want people to tell me I can’t do it — that fuels me.
- To build around potential users, not just investors or regulators.
- To ask for help — from people smarter than me.
- Because the person reading this might be my next crew member, partner, or promoter.
- And to open up a working template for anyone else crazy enough to try this too.

Even if I don’t show up, your comments will always bring me back.

I’ll stay anonymous for now. I want the story to stand on its own. No flex. Just execution.

Follow along. Learn. Doubt. Build yours.
