Fastboot is Power and Volume Down button.

Tried it before. It didn't work, per se. It only showed the Fastboot screen and nothing else until I had to switch it off again

Ya I can't remember the keys, if it doesn't work maybe you can check the battery

Yeah maybe. I can't remove the battery to check it unless I take it to a technician

Thanks for your advice though, bro

Gptech:

Allow the battery to run down, charge and try again. Factory reset will most likely be the way to go since bootloader is locked.
sad

Thank you. I'll wait for a few more days for that to happen since it is half charged

Same happened to my redmi 9, I just press the volume button and it stops rebooting then I leave it to charge

Oh, thanks
Is it volume up or down that you pressed? You left it to charge till full then restarted it successfully?

A lot of things could have caused it. This is a bootloop but can't say if it is hardware or software related. Try rebooting using Fastboot method.

How do I do that?

In this scenario there is few chances of you not losing your files.

Okay
What do you suggest I do? Wipe all data and the issue will be solved?

Also, any theories as to why this occurred? I used to think it was more common with those who had their bootloader unlocked

My Redmi 9 has been stuck in a bootloop mode since yesterday. It just stops at the Redmi logo, switches off and then reboots itself at that point continuously

I did nothing to it beyond just rebooting the phone after it started lagging a little. And it ended up in this state till now. I have tried rebooting from recovery mode to no avail. Even tried to reboot it when charging and otherwise, yet nothing is working. It will just be rebooting itself all the time whenever it shows the "Redmi" logo. It doesn't even get to the "MIUI" logo

Is there any way I can solve this issue without wiping my data and resetting the phone? I have files I'd rather not lose in there, and they are not backed up yet

Phone is Redmi 9, Global ROM. And it has not been unlocked or modified in any way since I bought it two years ago. I don tire for this matter
