There are different ways to solve this but let us take a simple approach. Since the interest rate is given per annum, you have to use years to solve.
36 months is 3 years. Number of years = 3 years.
Let us now calculate his interest
I= PRT
I= 50000* 12/100 * 3
I= 18000
The interest is 18,000 naira. So, the amount he is supposed to pay for the whole 36 months will be 50,000+ 18,000 = 68,000 naira.
This means that he is going to pay 68k back for the 50k he collected.
Since he is going to pay 68000 naira for 36 months, he will pay 68,000/36 every month and that will be #1,888. 89k.
Every month, he will pay #1,888.89k

M = P [i(1+i)^n/(1+i)^n - 1]
Where M = monthly Loan repayments
i = r/12 = 0.12/12 = 0.01
n = 36 mnts

M = 50000[0.01(1.01^36)/1.01^36 - 1]
M = 50000[0.0143077/0.43077]
M = 50000[0.033214]
M = N1660.71

After solving for your X, you should put the value of X back in the proft equation (the equation that generated that value of X, i.e after checking for the critical point), which is -15x^2 +210x - 60.
I think I know where you got 715 from which i think is wrong. You dont insert X back into the cost and selling equations, rather it must be inserted into the profit equation to obtain the equivalent maximum profit.

If i am wrong, then you may have to thoroughly convince me because I haven't seen such approach you just used.

The guy is correct. The correct ans is $715. I jus checked d calculation again I made an error in calculation because I wasn't wit a calculator DAT time. U sub. X=21 into x^2/3+70x-2x^2-20 which is d profit function. Try it, u will get $715
