I have this friend who is very close to one politician, he asked me to design a website for the politician, I agreed for a fee and told him, he can charge anything, I dont mind but gave him my price.

Six months after the job was completed, my 20k bal is yet to be paid. My friend is reluctant to ask the poltician for the balance, besides, I have not met the politician for once. Now my friend told me the politician said his coleague's website was design for like 250k, but he only gave my friend 100k and nothing else according to him.

Now the painful thing is that d money was paid me in bits.

Right now, I'm considering making the site blank and tell my friend abt. What do u think? Greenmouse, Kexpan, Graphicplus, Yawa-ti-de, Slyrox others, pls share ur experience about how u handeled case like this.

If what I just saw on kexpan.com is what it was, then the whole shout is not worth it. The current work looks nice, but the inner pages can be better. Also for the home page, I tot its the nav bar that is supposed to be fixed and not the footer, but as well that could be your own style.

ok, ur pattern of design seem to be strictly web 2.0, not bad though. But you can diversify.
I guess as bad as my designs are, they are always different from the other.
Based on work done so far, I will score u 40%.

The work seem to be too perfect. Looks nice though. But the true nature and assessment will be better when original content (text, image, video) are added.

I have done a little more based on your recommendations.

GraphicsPlus: The green color is a bit dark on that black transparent background. I understand u are using green because there is a green color in the logo, but find a way to brighten up the content background. One way is to make that background white entirely. The full website slide will still be seen at the right side. Or use paper or noise or pattern bg image as the background of that content area. Or you can leave it as it is now and change the color of Vision and Mission to yellow and also the border of the boxes to yellow.

Why make Vision and Mission and their corresponding boxes image when you can simply style it with css? There is an unwritten rule. Never use image on something you can achieve with css unless that thing has a special effect that css may not achieve.

Haven looked at the ref you gave, I tried making the slide transition less obvious and flashy but cld not. So I have left that for another day. Thanks anyway. What will thou score the job?

Making comments about using a template, imho, is akin to telling the mother of a baby, "your baby is so cute but it is based on the blueprint of another human being, so no big deal". Come on folks! wetin dey to use template? Abi your human body no be template? Anyone can use a template. Very few can however customize it well. Perhaps that's what we should be focusing on.

Anyways, it looks like only the home page is ready. So my score will be based on an extrapolation (which isn't fair but hey, you leave me with no choice) as opposed to a true score based on all pages of the site:

1) Visited links in the footer blend in with the blue footer background
2) White dropdown menu can't be seen when the scrolling image has white background
3) Animation in body of home page. I would get rid of it (a distraction) or at least make it scroll slower
4) The layout looks "chunky (everything is laid out in "sharp" chunks). Consider using a soft background color
5) Minor: You have your vertical scroller js file in a css folder and your jquery and and style.css in an "engine" folder
6) Hovering over the main menu items causes the dropdown menus to "jump". Appears to be some kind of jquery thing.

Based on the above, and based on the fact that only the home page is done, I will give the page 40%. If I am up for it by the time you are actually complete, I might return and give the site as a whole a higher score, depending on what i see.

The but part of the matter is that the people said they want to be able to easily edit typographical errors and not call me each time. Meanwhile I used Dreamweaver for the design, how do I make it easily editable for them? Help me out my brothers & sisters in the Lord

Act with wisdom, dont just go ahead and load 1500 and subscribe 4 one month and then begin to ask NLders to help u.

I got 6, I normally read about the internet, W3C, Website Design and The Business, and all general knowledge about website and internet. It is a good thing.

As A Professional Web Designer, Which of this Do You Do & Why?

As for me, I have adopted the Under construction while I host all demo on a subdomain for instance; if am designing a website for www.afolsnetworks.com I will have underconstruction on the index while I upload all their demo/mockup/work in progress in another folder under the site like www.afolsnetworks.com/mockup.
So contract has to be closed (as in client satisfied and me get ma cash ) before the original work can be accessed through www.afolsnetworks.com
