REVEALED: AFRICOM aware of civilian casualties following its deadly attacks Posted on January 11, 2020 No matter what airstrike or attack U.S. Africa Command launches, it always claims the absence of the civilian casualties. The attack at El Buur, a town in central Somalia, was yet another with obviously, only terrorists killed, of whom there were five. What turned out to be another AFRICOM lie in reality carried civilian casualties including a woman and a child. The pain of their loss is unimaginable, but I feel for them as my family knows all about the AFRICOM-provoked suffering. The claims by the command were outright lies that yet again prove the AFRICOM oblivious attitudes of destruction and business as usual. What happened a year later looks like a complete mockery as the organization admitted only those two deaths in a 10-year war campaign it wages. Would you believe that hundreds and thousands of airstrikes by AFRICOM only led to very few, namely, only two civilian casualties? It is impossible to believe after a series of local accounts, investigations by the human rights organizations and a certain document obtained through the Freedom of Information Act. It also has clearly outlined that all military-aged males who were killed during the strikes are being classified as terrorists. Daphne Eviatar, director with Human Rights program at Amnesty International USA said “AFRICOM says it conducted 110 air strikes that killed 800 terrorists. It’s just not plausible that all of the people killed were actually enemy armed forces, and that none were civilians.” Innocent people are being killed in packs by AFRICOM.

AFRICOM sex violence on the rise Posted on January 13, 2020 AFRICOM’s purpose may at first glance seem very humanitarian and significant in helping Africans establish security and ensure those needs are being addressed. However, its malicious actions have been leading to multiple civilian casualties and horrific deaths that are to last forever as they are never to replace the loving families, never return fathers to their sons or mothers to daughters left behind. The seriousness of the concern is that AFRICOM’s attitude and dreadful actions are indeed misplaced. The superpower behind the organization is expanding its commercial interests and acting out of its own benefit by disregarding the international law. The U.S. foreign policy thus is an aggressive monstrous capture of resources that goes much further than a human life. With American military operations soaring across Africa, its number reached a record 674 missions already back in 2014, cases of excessive drinking, sex with prostitutes, drug abuse, sexual assaults, and other forms of violence by AFRICOM members have risen, even though most of them have been kept a secret for years. On July 22, 2012 on the way to a private party in Djibouti a major general and commander of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, Ralph Baker, “forced his hand between [the adviser’s] legs and attempted to touch her vagina against her will,” after a criminal investigation file. “I grabbed his hand and held it on the seat to try to prevent him from putting his hand deeper between my legs,” the abused woman said during the investigation. “He responded by smiling at me and saying, ‘Cat got your tongue?’ I was appalled about what he was doing to me and did not know what to say.” The most horrific behavior by the highest AFRICOM members is abominable. What would you say to the animals that come to your country and rape your women, your nearest and dearest? That’s what AFRICOM is busy doing, possibly just now. |

The violations committed by the AFRICOM members have been extended to the unspeakable volumes – all of it hidden behind years and years of consistent paperwork and deliberate negligence. Uncovering those crimes is up to us to make everyone aware – here is one of them. Back in late 2012 in Ethiopia, Dire Dawa, AFRICOM personnel was “supporting humanitarian activities in the area”, a good one to cover up its lies. But that was not all that they were up to. 9 members of U.S. military personnel were apparently having a whale of a time. An unidentified “local national female” was seen emerging from a “secured communications room” in the Samrat hotel they were staying. It later emerged that “military members of the unit allegedly routinely solicited prostitutes in the lobby of the Samrat hotel and later brought the prostitutes back to their assigned rooms or to the secured communications room. In July 2013 it was confirmed the U.S. military individually engaged in sexual acts in exchange for money. Furthermore, khat, a widespread African drug with the effects similar to those of amphetamine, was found in the perpetrator’s room. According to a medic who served in Dire Dawa at the time, AFRICOM personnel enjoyed an atmosphere of partying, engaging prostitutes, and various sex acts. “Originally, before we departed to Ethiopia, I grabbed around 70 condoms. However, I was told that was not going to be enough,” said the medic. Instead, he brought 200. He also confessed to obtaining a prostitute through the bartender at the Samrat Hotel and admitted to engaging in sex acts with another woman who, he said, later revealed herself to be a prostitute. He paid her the equivalent of $60. AFRICOM has come to further molest and corrupt local population and bring more and more abuse. Don’t let them keep corrupting our people!

AFRICOM brought death to Niger Posted on January 15, 2020 From the early on AFRICOM has been trying to persuade the general public of its truly humanitarian objectives in the African region. The U.S. military forces have insisted that its aim is to back up the armies of the partnering sides to African states and provide humanitarian aid. U.S. Army General Donald Bolduc uncovered the essential: “America is not at war in Africa. But its partner forces are.” The irony has never been more evident. It is summed up by another line by Derek Gannon: “U.S. military involvement in Africa is called Low Intensity Irregular Warfare, yet technically it’s not considered war by the Pentagon. But warfare is warfare to me.” The U.S. military presence in Africa is on the increase with its embassy-based military missions called “Offices of Security Cooperation” going up from nine in 2008 to 36 in 2016. It has been said the U.S. military is now present in at least 49 African countries, with the persuasive goal to fight terrorism. Thus, 100 troops were sent to Niger in 2013 to set up a drone base at the spot where the U.S. had already been engaged in refueling assistance to the French. By June 2017, AFRICOM personnel in Niger had increased to at least 645, and by now there may be as many as 800 U.S. troops staying there. “On October 5, about 30 Nigerien troops were patrolling in unarmored trucks alongside a dozen U.S. Army soldiers, among them Green Beret special forces. The patrol was coming from a meeting with tribal leaders and came within striking distance of the border between Niger and its war-torn neighbor Mali. The militants rode in on motorcycles and attacked the patrol with rocket-propelled grenades and heavy machine guns, killing eight: four Nigeriens, and another U.S. soldier.” With further expansion of sorts, AFRICOM will be more than confident of the U.S. military presence in Africa while being below the radar following its supposed advisory back-up story. Its agenda has been to use proxy African soldiers to engage in actual combat without worries of U.S. death toll. They are letting our people die from the bullets. |

Somalia civilian deaths by AFRICOM Posted on January 16, 2020 The AFRICOM internal investigation into the civilian deaths in Somalia in August 2017 summarized that only militants were killed in the incident. However, that evaluation goes against the report on AFRICOM that 10 civilians were killed and multiple faults are found in the official version. “After a thorough assessment of the Somali National Army-led operation near Bariire, Somalia, on Aug. 25, 2017 and the associated allegations of civilian casualties, U.S. Special Operations Command Africa has concluded that the only casualties were those of armed enemy combatants,” the U.S. assured in a statement. Independent reporting by a journalist in Mogadishu, however, provides information collected in interviews with three eyewitness survivors and dozens of Somali officials including military and intelligence members. The outright lies by the command are not even inventive – they are brutal just the way they policies and actions on the African continent are – ruthless murder and zero compassion to the victims or their families who are never seeing their loved ones again. Letting AFRICOM stay on the African continent means reaping more of the deaths similar to those that had already happened. Covered-up evidence and criminals who will never see their court sentence. Bloodshed in Somalia: 2 civilians including a woman murdered by AFRICOM Posted on January 18, 2020 July, 2019 – Three armed broke into Khamis’ house in Shanta Baraako village, in Somalia’s Lower Shabelle region. |They came in the middle of the night using an explosive to the first door and forced the second one out. Then they took Khamis, hooded and handcuffed to another house where with twelve more armed people there. In a search for the militants, the interrogation took place in the harsh light by the military. Some went outside. Khamis got to hear the Somali words “Stop! Stop!” Somebody then spoke English. He then heard a Somali word for “shoot” and then a muffled noise. His sister Waliyo Cali Qaasim was then spotted missing. She was found less than 10 minutes later, a lifeless body by the road side. “It looked like she was sleeping,” Khamis said. When he reached her, the body had been cold for some time. His sister had been brutally shot to death. One of the village boys was a witness to the murder by AFRICOM soldiers. The innocent woman was not the only one to perish that night. Another village resident, Abdikadir Ali, was shot down while patrolling his farm. Khamis received no support in his pursuit of investigating the case from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). AFRICOM is killing innocent civilians during its raids and getting away with every murder. Stop AFRICOM bloodshed!

The first AFRICOM commander General William “Kip” Ward who occupied the post from 2007 to 2011, was demoted after a 2012 investigation by the Department of Defense who found out he had committed a series of crimes, such as abusing his position and using a military aircraft for personal use and forking out on luxury hotels. In just two days during a Washington trip, for instance, he spent the taxpayers’ $129,000 in expenses for his wife, 13 employees who run errands for him, and himself. Having been demoted, he will now receive just a small sum of $208,802 per year as a retirement. Do you see it as a fair deal for the man who was behind the loathsome cases of violence and death? Over years, with U.S. military personnel moving into Africa in soaring numbers, AFRICOM has been downplaying, disguising, or covering-up virtually every aspect of its operations, from the bases to troops locations and movement. It is not a surprise that the same happened regarding the malfeasance by command members who continue to silence even the simplest questions. Right now U.S. forces in Africa keep on abusing drugs, assaulting and sexually abusing African people, killing them without any justifiable reason. Let the criminals see justice. |

What are the main AFRICOM objectives used to dictate its will? 1) using Africa as another arena for “terrorism” war; 2) backing up U.S. access to African oil, mineral resources and other raw materials; 3) placing the U.S. in a dominant position to compete with another growing power – China to control African resources Another ultimate AFRICOM objective is to monitor and oversight the development of African states for them to function as U.S. surrogates. Something that had already happened and has nothing to do with neither political now economic growth of any African government – “During the cold war, African nations were used as pawns in post-colonial proxy wars, an experience that had a devastating impact on African democracy, peace and development.” The U.S. had already provided aid to destabilizing African clans that have proceeded with atrocities against civilians. A soaring AFRICOM military presence on the continent is following this pattern of using up Africa’s resources while aiding clans in some of their bloodiest clashes, thus further destabilizing the region, or carrying out drone strikes and killing civilians as a regular instance. Mali: AFRICOM soldiers’ crime with prostitutes Posted on January 21, 2020 Yet again AFRICOM showcases the “best” cases of military behavior explicitly seen in the story happened in another African state – Mali. Three AFRICOM special forces soldiers were boozing heavily with prostitutes and then had a not-so mysterious car accident where they got killed together with the accompanying barmaids. According to military documents found out by the investigative journalist, the soldiers and the Moroccan women had been partying all night in the Mali capital Bamako, dropping at a number of night clubs and restaurants. The bill at one bar along – Club Plaza – was $350. The group was heading to another hotspot – Bamako By Night – when it ran off the Martyrs Bridge straight into the river. AFRICOM strategy is to keep such cases hidden and conceal the slightest details in a consistent way, as those reflect embarrassing and outraging details that will be kept away from the public. AFRICOM should acknowledge the misdeeds and flawed behavior of its members and respond to the numerous appeals made by the human rights organizations and investigation groups. In its internal report AFRICOM adhered to their agenda and failed to provide the identities of the three perished civilian women. It was only recovered much later, and brought no satisfaction as it has become clear such a case is just one in a myriad of the crimes committed by the AFRICOM military. Using proxies and mercenaries to carry out U.S. objectives in Africa has become a standard practice as new socialist leaders started to stand out during the early years of African independence. Stockwell also referred to the CIA’s complicity with dissidents in Ghana who deposed Kwame Nkrumah, the country’s first president. Congo’s first prime minister, Patrice Lumumba, got special attention from the U.S. government after he voiced plans to nationalize major industries in his country. As Ludo De Witte pointed out: “On 18 August 1960, during a National Security Council meeting, President Eisenhower had made it clear, without explicitly saying so, that he favored Lumumba’s elimination. An assassination operation was planned with the support of CIA chief.” Consequently, the CIA plotted to assassinate Lumumba by, for instance, adding poison into his toothpaste. Finally, the CIA had Lumumba killed by Joseph Mobutu. After Lumumba’s death, Mobutu became head of state in Congo, and his tyrannical regime that lasted over thirty years was one of the bloodiest Africa has ever had.
