Olamide Odewusi, a 30-year-old, has appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court charged with rape and impregnating a 17-year-old girl.

The accused, a phone technician, resides at 13, Ogunsheye St., Ajegunle in Alagbado, a suburb of Lagos.

He was, however, released on a bail of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum. The Prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu told the court that the offence was committed on May 12 at the accused’s residence. Ogu said the accused, who met the girl at a party, obtained her phone number and has since been calling her.

The accused lured the girl into his apartment on the pretext of fixing her faulty phone, shut the door and raped her,’’ he said. The prosecutor said some months after, the girl was feeling feverish and went to the hospital for treatment and was confirmed pregnant.

The offence contravened Section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The accused, if found guilty, risks life imprisonment. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. Chief Magistrate Taiwo Akanni adjourned the case until Dec. 6 for mention.

A female Nigerian soldier reportedly dies in fatal accident in Rivers state.
The deceased whose identity was revealed as Salo Roseline Tamarabrakemi took to her Facebook handle on Tuesday, October 10, to announce the preparation for her birthday.

Sadly, announcing her death was her friend Princess Adeola Adeola who posted her pictures on Facebook with the caption:

“CLARIONS CALL!!! What a great loss to all TEAM 72. Today is her birthday and she died yesterday…RIP to this great Hero of the NIGERIAN ARMY we love you ROSE but God loves you more. Rest in peace course mate.”

TX news had earlier reported that the Police found inconsistencies in Davido’s report and the footage from the CCTV camera at the hospital where Tagbo was confirmed dead.

The singer had earlier denied the accusation that his crew members dumped the Tagbo’s corpse at the hospital but the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgar recently revealed that a CCTV footage from the hospital showed that Davido’s driver, Tunde Yusuf and two of his friends were the ones who transported Tagbo to the General Hospital.

“At age 15, I started struggling to help my widowed mother. I started working in the Entertainment Industry. While going to school, and working, faced many challenges as a female child. There were talks of being loose, perhaps being a prostitute, lack of freedom to mingle like male counterparts, rumours and fear of slander, sexual harassments.

“However, one of my early dreams was to be great at whatever I chose and be side by side the best in the World. I’m not totally there yet, but, that 12 years old iyana-ipaja little girl did take care of her widowed mum till she died, took care of her younger brothers who are in marriage stages now.

“She is taking care of herself and her own family, taking care of a few people she is privileged to be able to.“She has worked, spoken on, been awarded on World stages, and has been compared to the people she admired when growing up, from other parts of the World.
