Juventus striker Paulo Dybala has tested positive for the coronavirus for the fourth time in six weeks, a source close to the player has disclose the news.

The Ligue 1 season will not restart due to the coronavirus pandemic after an announcement by French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe confirmed on Tuesday that no sporting events will take place in the country till September.

Philippe made the announcement while unveiling France’s plans to exit confinement. “Big sporting events will not be able to take place before September,” Philippe said. “The 2019-20 season, notably for football, will not be able to resume,” he was quoted.

Earlier a week ago, the Dutch League was caught in a similar situation as the government announced ban on major public events for the next three months. This saw league leaders Ajax Amsterdam denied from the title for the first time since 1945.

A tweet from Robinson’s verified Twitter account on Tuesday confirmed the news, saying: “With tremendous sadness we tell you about Michael’s passing.

“It leaves us with a great emptiness, but also countless memories, filled with the same love that you have shown for him.

Robinson who won the European Cup, Division One title and the League Cup in 1984 in his first and only full season with Liverpool, revealed in December 2018 he had been diagnosed with a malignant melanoma.

Buhari to effect Nigerian governors’ lockdown decision Monday

The inter-state lockdown decision taken by the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) is a “done deal”.

On Sunday, a Chief Press Secretary to a state governor confirmed this to DAILY POST.

He explained that the chief executives made their position known on Friday to enable the federal government to put in place necessary arrangements for compliance.

“The governors’ resolution is to curtail the spread of Coronavirus. The federal government has the power to shut inter-state borders, hence the request to Mr. President,” he said.

“The two weeks’ lockdown will be announced by Mr. President. It’s a done deal. However, he will list exemptions and give Nigerians other important information.”

The NGF had asked President Muhammadu Buhari, to stop inter-state movements.

Their position was contained in a letter addressed to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation/Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha.

Signed by the NGF chairman and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, the forum wants free but restricted movement within states.

They requested inter-state lockdown, free movement of essential supplies such as food, beverages, medical and pharmaceutical, petroleum supplies and agricultural products.

Others are internal free movement but restrictions on large gatherings and assemblies, overnight curfews, flights ban and compulsory use of face masks/coverings in public.

I am writing to let you know that on medical advice, I will transfer to Lagos later today for additional tests and observation. This is a precautionary measure: I feel well, but last week, I tested positive for coronavirus, the pandemic that is sweeping the world. I have followed all the protocols government has announced to self-isolate and quarantine.
